Ms. Marvel (2022)
10/10
The show is obvious for a younger crowd and it works
3 July 2022
My neice loves Captain Marvel, and was excited and enjoyed MS. Marvel. Typically TV and film can't hold her attention. Watching her enjoying the series and getting excited over the characters is enough for me to give the show a billion stars if I could. I hate the expectation these days that every show and film has to be bespoke for the viewer otherwise "it's the worst thing you've seen."

You don't have to like it, but don't ruin it for those that do. The show itself is fun,and really steps outside of the narrow view of what a hero origin story should be.

I Was NOT Ready.

I don't really know how describe what the hell I just watched. I will say this, this was a bizarre but quite enjoyable twisted romp. It kept me guessing and it had me laughing so hard I was in tears. Considering the subject matter they played it pretty straight, so there were more WTF moments than anything. If you are squeamish and/or a prude, this isn't for you. If you are a comedy snob, this movie isn't for you. I don't know what it to compare it to. I hope these guys get to make more films. Even with my rating, do go into this with any expectations other than it is wildly strange.

This is the most hilarious thoroughly satisfying film I've watched in a really long time. I was nervous when I heard they were making a third because I love the first two so immensely. They did such a great job, that I reset my IMDB password just to come and post this review.

terrible just terrible

This movie is bad, so bad that my mother who can barely stand the "suspense" of Disney's Snow White, was chuckling through out the entire movie. My first warning should've been that it was in the $5.50 bin at Wal-mart. But I have actually found some good movies in that bin, so i can't fault if for this debacle. The second warning should have been that when the cashier rang up the DVD, it was actually $3.88. Again I have never been one to ignore the cheapies. THis movie is definitely not for people looking for something good to watch, and it most certainly isn't for everyone that enjoys the occasional bad movie. If you need background noise while you are doing something like playing cards with some friends, then get this but if you are looking for something to actually watch don't even bother. It was really disappointing because there were a lot of good actors. I felt like i was watching a chocolate version of Willard.

Trash

There is no way around it, so I will just say this straight. This movie was pure garbage. It wasn't like I wasn't warned, but critics tend to bash all the movies that I have come to love, so when I heard the reviews I did not listen. Lord I should have, there were so many better movies out. I couldn't blame one singular person for this debacle, it was a team effort. I would love to go further an pin-point all the plot holes, and poorly executed scenes but I'd be here all night. So I will reiterate, this film was GAR-BAGE. I am a fan of bad film, but this was so bad that it didn't make me laugh, I made me mad that I wasted movie I could have spent of a two DVDs from the $5.50 bin at Wal-mart. If I had gone with my gut instinct, and done so I probably would have found something better to watch. When a movie has a star-studded line-up I at least expect the movie to be half-way decent. Even Hilary Swank couldn't save this sinking ship.

Bloodtide (1982)

I liked it

I personally thought this was a pretty good movie. I just ignored the fact that for the character's the present was 1981, and acted is I were watching a horror movie that took place in the 80's as opposed to an 80's horror flick. If you are the type of movie watcher that can't accept the fact that previous to the 90's most films didn't have amazing special effects, then I don't suggest you watch this. But if you can watch a film and appreciate the story, that I recommend you check it out. I had picked it up cheap, and wasn't really expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. It isn't the greatest movie in the world, but I wasn't the worst.

what to say

Warning: Spoilers
Where to start... If this movie had been a dark comedy, I would say it was FANNN-TASTIC! Unfortunately for me, and anyone else with free time and a buck to spare (mind you that was the price I paid, got it from Wal-Mart), this movie was meant to be a thriller. The only THRILL I got was watching Kirkland's lousy rendition of Anne Wilkes from Misery sans snowy woodland area. If you want a good laugh, on a rainy Friday night with some friends, then I highly recommend this movie. But if you want to watch something at least half way decent, then don't even bother.

I for one enjoy crappy films, the worse the better in most cases. But Wow... I Meant WOW!! The only person in the entire film that didn't stink it up was the little boy, played by Vincent Berry. The only reason why I even give it 3 stars is because it gave me something to do.
