The Hitcher (1986)
9/10
Scary as hell
1 December 2001
Warning: Spoilers
** Little spoiler coming**

The summary really sums it up. Rutger Hauer may scare the shit out of you as John Ryder. C. Thomas Howell as Jim Halsey is picking up the hitcher John unsuspectingly, thinking he is doing a good deed. We follow their battle on the road with desert as long as you can see. With scary action on the way it ends with a climax able to take your breath away. If you loved Rutger Hauer as a replicant in Blade Runner, you'll love him as a deranged psycho killer in The Hitcher. In Blade Runner we had some empathy for his caracter "Roy Batty". We felt sorry for Batty when he died in the end. In the The Hitcher his role as John Ryder has no redeeming qualities. He is just pure evil. His acting is so good you would believe he REALLY was that crazy.

"Ordinary" commercial movies always got a good ending. Not this one. If you expect things to end well, forget it. See this movie on a big widescreen TV 40-inch or higher, it deserves it and it looks scarier!

PS. After seeing this movie you will always look out for fingers in your french fries...

Cobra Force (1988)
1/10
Low budget, low standard action
15 November 2001
I've no doubts that militaristic enthusiasts enjoy this movie, but it got lousy actors, directors and camera people. It looks very amateurish. The film is made in South Africa in 1987 which makes it colored(no pun intended) with racist hints here and there. It's no doubt the whites are the heroes in this movie. It can be compared to The Octagon with Chuck Norris. Yes, IT IS that bad.

Dream On (1990–1996)
Martin is the man!
1 October 2001
Brian Benben is great in this show about Martin Tupper, a divorced father in his 40 something. This show is like a sex comedy, a little risque but still being decent. He is always looking for new girls to replace his old love Judith Tupper Stone who he divorced. Of course he can't forget her, she still got her own keys to his apartment. And look out for his secretary Toby, who is NOT the best secretary on this planet.

Always good looking girls on the show including the most sexy woman on TV today, Wendie Malick. If you can't see the show in your local area, check out Wendie on the show "Just Shoot Me!".

It's time Brian Benben got a high profile show on TV again!
