Cruella (2021)
10/10
A Bold, Exciting Sensation
29 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Warning: There are spoilers. If you haven't seen the movie yet, don't read this review.

I watched Cruella last night and I must say, it was truly worthwhile.

The movie gives a tragic backstory to Cruella De Vil, one of Disney's most famous villains. Cruella(initially called Estella) is a bright young girl whose mother gets killed by dalmatians. It really makes you feel sympathy for Estella and understand why she hates dalmatians. But in a shocking turn of events, The Baroness, a famed fashion designer and the movie's antagonist, turns out to be Cruella's real mother who wanted to get rid of her own daughter when she was born. It was a good twist that I never saw coming.

The film's sets and costumes are very gorgeously detailed. Cruella takes place in 1970s London, and it feels very authentic. The music choice was also amazing and very catchy.

Emma Stone does a phenomenal job of playing the iconic Cruella. Her version of the character is very feminist and rebellious. Cruella isn't afraid to think outside the box, and that's what made me actually root for her. "I was born brilliant, born bad, and a little mad" will always be one of my favorite Disney quotes ever. The other actors did a great job in the movie, too. Emma Thompson played The Baroness flawlessly.

So all in all, Cruella is an intriguing, unique masterpiece that I highly recommend.

WandaVision (2021)
10/10
Strange yet engaging
28 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When WandaVision first debuted on Disney Plus, I was expecting a lot out of this show, and I was NOT disappointed. Although things got a little creepy at times, the first three episodes were very entertaining and actually very funny.

Things got VERY strange in Episode Four, when we learn Wanda created this alternate sitcom-fantasy when grieving over the death of Vision. The rest of the series was very interesting and packed with suspense. The series had a very bittersweet ending, with Wanda finally becoming the Scarlet Witch and leaving Westview. The finale was a very emotional, powerful episode and honestly, one of the best series finales I have ever seen.

Wanda and Vision were a very amazing couple. Their sons, Billy and Tommy, were fun to watch. Agatha Harkness was a great villain. The other characters, like Monica Rambeau and Darcy Lewis were interesting characters.

So, overall, this show is incredible and truly a wonderful addition to the MCU.

It could have been better
2 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is set almost a decade after the original series finale and..it is not very good. There were a couple of funny moments, and I liked how they resolved Emily's story. She works at a whaling museum, putting her knowledge about whaling to use, and I liked that.

But Rory is basically the reason I gave this show 5/10 stars. She is just as annoying and bratty as she was in the original, if not worse. She always forgets about her boyfriend, Paul (who kind off appeared out of nowhere) and has an affair with Logan even when he is ENGAGED!!! Rory truly got on my nerves.

Also, I have problems with the last episode, 'Fall'. At the end of the episode, we find out that Rory is PREGNANT. And just as we're wondering who the father is, the credits roll, and the episode, and series, ends. The ending of the series as a whole is not satisfying at all.

5/10

Gilmore Girls (2000–2007)

Enjoyable
2 January 2021
Gilmore Girls is a very good show. The story is great, the humor is very sharp and witty, and there are charming moments throughout the series. There are some good characters. Loralai, Emily, and Paris are my favorite characters.

The only negative thing about Gilmore Girls is the character of Rory Gilmore. Rory starts the show off as a smart, clever teenager who loves to read. But then, over time, she becomes an irresponsible, whiny, spoiled brat who makes horrible choices constantly. That makes her quite annoying and the least likable character in the show. But all in all, Gilmore Girls is very funny and enjoyable.

The Grinch (2018)

Mediocre at Best
19 December 2020
Okay, so I saw this film about two years ago, when it was released in theaters. It..was not very good.

First, this film was not very funny. Second, it did not really have much depth. And finally, there was nothing special, spectacular, or interesting about this film overall. It was very bland.

This version of The Grinch is not the WORST or anything, but it was quite mediocre and missed the mark on so many levels. Basically, its only redeeming quality is that it was composed by Danny Elfman, a composer who I admire very much.

I saw this movie last night, and I thought it was amazing. I loved it. The movie has a wonderful script, the characters are so interesting, and the animation is spectacular. This masterpiece does splendidly when it comes to telling an incredible, intriguing story with groundbreaking visuals, making this movie a real delight for the eye and imagination.

Cringeworthy
5 December 2020
Oh, boy. We've got another one of these. They made a THIRD Hotel Transylvania film in 2018. And boy, is it PACKED with horrible jokes and awful storytelling. Adam Sandler is at it again with his terrible acting 'skills'. The movie doesn't even put in an effort to be funny. The movie wastes the talents of two amazing actresses, Selena Gomez and Chrissy Teigen.

With that said, I am interested in Erica's backstory. I feel like Sony really made the wrong film. A movie about a young woman breaking free from her overbearing guardian would have been WAY more interesting than a third Hotel Transylvania film.

Does nothing to improve the franchise nor the company.
5 December 2020
Well, heck. In 2015, Sony Animation made a SEQUEL to Hotel Transylvania. Sigh. This movie is just as bad as the first, if not worse. The 'humor' in the movie is not funny and none of it made me laugh. Adam Sandler does badly yet again at playing Dracula, who is just as unlikable as he was in the original. Selena Gomez and Mel Brooks are both too talented for this movie.

Terrible
4 December 2020
Let me just say this right up front: I HATE Hotel Transylvania. There are some reasons why.

First, Adam Sandler is not a good actor. He does the iconic character of Dracula little to no justice with his unremarkable performance. I'm sorry to say this, but it's true. Second, the puns and jokes are lame and unfunny. Third, the story is not very interesting. The boring storyline of Dracula being overprotective of his daughter, Mavis, has become an irritatingly overused cliche by now. The movie also wastes the talents of Selena Gomez.

So..1/10

The movie was so insane that I had a wonderful time
30 November 2020
I watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation just now, and I have a lot to say about this movie.

The crazy events that take place in this film are so insane that it entertained me. The humor in the movie brought me joy. The script was cleverly written. The movie had a jovial tone to it. Usually whenever a movie has strange antics, I don't really like it. But this movie managed to pull off the 'so strange that it's good' idea so well that I couldn't hate it at all. The movie is a funny madcap holiday comedy that is perfect for getting the holidays started.

Great scenery albeit somewhat weak storytelling
25 November 2020
I saw this movie about a month ago. I didn't exactly like the movie. However, there were a couple of things about the movie that I just could not hate. The scenery was a true feast for the eye. The ending was good. Pikachu was cute and funny. And there were a couple of jokes in the film that I found very funny.

But, there were some things about the movie that I didn't think was good. The storytelling was weak, at least to a certain degree. The story was quite predictable. I could already tell who the main antagonist was before the 'reveal' (but I will not give spoilers). The plot was rather scattered. So, the movie could have been better.

Well..I have mixed feelings.
21 November 2020
So..I watched this tonight. I have..mixed feelings. The plot was interesting albeit slightly scattered. This special was a bit weird, and I feel MAYBE it could have been a bit better. However, there were a couple of funny moments and it had a nice moral.

So...5/10.

Beautifully Dark
15 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I love Edward Scissorhands. The music is hauntingly amazing and catchy, the plot is so remarkable, and the script was well written. The ending was sad yet satisfying. Although Edward Scissorhands lived all alone at the end, at least he was free and creating amazing things. Tim Burton is a brilliant director and I genuinely adore his work.

The Witches (2020)

It's...something.
15 November 2020
I just saw this tonight, and it's truly...something. The script was fine, the cast was great, and the plot was easy to understand. But...the imagery-they really got out of hand. I get it's supposed to be dark, but the creepy imagery went a little too far over the deep end. I usually like dark movies (for example: Edward Scissorhands, Into the Woods, Corpse Bride), but I don't like when it gets TOO dark. I liked the human forms of the witches WAY better than their true demon forms.

So...4/10.

Horrible
13 November 2020
I saw this four years ago in theaters and I have not seen this in a LONG time. That is because it is SO, SO awful. The plot is so terrible. It was clearly nothing but a cash-grab to sell troll toys to kids. The movie sent out some horrible messages to viewers. Also, this mess is PACKED with cliches and even has a rip-off of Cinderella for one of its subplots. It's annoying how DreamWorks wasted the talents of incredible actors like Anna Kendrick and Zooey Deschanel by making them play characters in this abomination.

1/10.

A Humorous, Entertaining Christmas Classic.
11 November 2020
The Muppet Christmas Carol is a work of pure genius. It retells the classic Christmas tale of A Christmas Carol and combines it with The heart and humor of The Muppets. The acting, script, and music are all great. Micheal Caine gives a wonderful protrayal of Scrooge. Overall, this movie is an unforgettable, endearing, and funny Christmas Masterpiece.

Is this even supposed to be a Disney Christmas Movie?!?
11 November 2020
Well...I watched this between Monday night and Tuesday night and...I thought it was creepy as heck. It has a good moral, but this is full-on Nightmare Fuel. The animation quality was horrible. Younger audiences will be deeply disturbed by all the scary images in the movie. There were some parts that were too frightening to even watch. During these parts, I asked myself, 'Is this even supposed to be a Disney movie? Was this even meant to be a CHRISTMAS MOVIE?!?' Impossible. How could that be?

The script was okay, and the movie had a good message. After all, Christmas is all about giving to others and spending time with your loved ones. But the scary imagery just ruined everything.

A good spooky but silly film that is perfect for Halloween
24 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a true Halloween classic. The storyline is quite interesting. It is also interesting to see Fester (also called Gordon) and his relationship with his adoptive mother. I like the movie's spooky but silly feeling. The script was good. And the acting was great. I love this movie.

A horrible, unfunny piece of trash
24 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this last night and I HATED it. This movie does not even TRY to be funny. It just throws in some lazy, gross jokes. The plot was overly boring. The villain was the lamest one I have ever seen in my entire life. This movie is terrible, annoying trash that frankly should not exsist.

A cute, funny, heartwarming little short that gives a great backstory for Olaf
24 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this tonight and I loved it. If you loved the two Frozen Movies and its two short films, then this adorable short is for you! So basically Once Upon a Snowman focuses on Olaf and his backstory. It is a heartfelt, humorous, interesting short with nice visuals. We get to see things from Olaf's perspective and the short explains how a few of the events in the first Frozen movie happened, such as the scene with the wolves. The sweet ending was the cherry on top of a fantastic short.

Very dark, but thrilling
18 October 2020
I saw this film last night. It was scary sometimes, but it was an interesting thriller. While I don't recommend very young children (the movie's scary images could frighten them), I DO recommend this to older audiences. The movie retells Ray Bradbury's classic dark fantasy perfectly. The storytelling is quite compelling. This movie is very distinctive because it is not like most Disney movies, and that's what I like about this unique film.

DreamWorks at its best!
17 October 2020
I'll say it right up front: Abominable is Dreamworks' best movie yet. Its visuals are very stunning, it has a magical, meaningful feel to it, and the characters were well-developed. The ending was so satisfying. I loved this movie. I highly encourage you to see it if you haven't watched it.

Flat-out Horrible
17 October 2020
Tonight I watched this and I hated it. There are a few reasons why. The first reason was that there were parts when the movie tried to be funny but failed miserably. Nothing in the movie made me laugh. Second, the plot was very, very predictable. Lastly, the animation style was quite mediocre at best. So...yeah. I highly recommend you watch The 1991 version of The Addams Family and its sequel, Addams Family Values.

Very Remarkable
27 September 2020
I just saw Enola Holmes on Netflix and I loved it. This movie is highly enjoyable. The movie had excellent storytelling. I loved Enola because she was independent, smart, and brave. The action is thrilling. The plot was very unpredictable, and I loved that. This movie is an amazing classic.

Sleepless in Seattle is pleasing to watch. The plot is interesting. It's so cool how you can sense your soulmate without truly knowing who it is. The dialogue and acting are both great. I highly recommend this.
