Man Down (2013)
Brilliant
Stumbled across this on Netflix. What a show! Greg Davies is superb as the super-stressed 40 something l teacher who just can't get anything right; at work; at home; in his daily life.
So many great one-liners. Makes you literally laugh out loud over and over each episode. To a little girl in his drama class he doesn't like-"Take your little girl mask off Rose West."
Totally my sense of humour. Superb.
Jordan (2010)
Good idea, poor acting
Little girl survives a car accident and leaves the upturned vehicle to find help for her trapped mother.
Eventually gets to the nearer town and reunited with her mother by the police. But the girl claims the lady is NOT her Mum. Clever idea and interesting movie.
But the acting is terrible (apart from the two youngest actors-the little girl and the 12 year old son of the cop). It was like they read their lines from cue cards in the background. The cop's wife NEVER smiles and seems more worried about forgetting her lines!
Great story-but potential ruined by poorly chosen actors who mumbled to camera and weren't believable.
The Fanatic (2019)
No thrills in this 'thriller'
Sometimes you get the wrong character in the wrong part-perhaps the wrong film.
Imagine if Rainman or Forrest Gump became a stalker. You'd feel sorry for them or perhaps might phone the cops. But you wouldn't be scared. That's how this pans out. Travolta not bad-played the character quite well but just not the right character for a movie like this. You need Someone menacing like Robert De Niro in Cape Fear or Jennifer Jason Leigh in Single White Female; you would be nervous about meeting these characters and glad you haven't. The Fanatic is more like 'The Annoying'. An autistic superfan who is excited to meet one of his heroes-Nothing scary or menacing about this at all.
Reckoning (2019)
A Great Watch
Always looking for something that will keep me interested on the Cross trainer! The better the series is, the more motivated I am to work out for an hour! Well, I worked out every day with this series.
Got a few good twists and turns. Liked the two major families on opposite sides of the investigation and the story comes together nicely. Not complicated, but does keep you guessing.
