Hi Nanna (2023)
One of the best movie. Should have earned 3to 400Cr
A mind-blower!
In a time when mind-blowers, like 8+ rated movies, hover just above average, this film impressed me and blew my mind.
Not a single moment felt boring; it kept me engaged till the end.
Remember, you've watched a movie that provided a wonderful experience, kept you engaged and satisfied. It wasn't the best, but it's among the best. This is simply that type of movie.
I can't get over what they did with Shruti Haasan. I was totally shocked. That was unexpected. (Twist)
Almost every actor did great. It felt like whenever an actor didn't nail a shot, the director took more shots until it was just right.
The lead did an excellent job presenting emotions, especially the child actor.
The songs were okay, not bad or anything.
The songs was kinda avodeble.
Yes, I agree it's old wine in a new bottle.
But where can you find old wine this good?
As for the family disclaimer, it has some minor kissing scenes but is a fully family watch.
It's a solid 8.
Kumbalangi Nights (2019)
It should have gotten 7.5 but,
This movie was by far my most anticipated movie. The art style, the feel-I knew that it would be a banger even before watching it. It fully satisfied me. To be frank,
It should have gotten a 7.5. But as I had the highest expectations for this, which were met, and it didn't disappoint me, giving me a wonderful experience, I can give it an 8.
I wanted to watch it scenes the beginning of the year. And finally whatch it on the
31'st December 2023.
Extension
"Kumbalangi Nights" met my expectations with its captivating storytelling, enriched by Fahadh Faasil's stellar performance. However, the film's flaws, including unclear character relationships and questionable portrayals, detract from its overall impact. Fahadh Fazil's acting stands out in this otherwise mixed cinematic experience. The movie successfully creates a unique universe, skillfully written by Syam Pushkaran, beautifully captured by Madhu C Narayanan, and complemented by Shyju Khalid's cinematography and Sushin Shyam's musical score. Despite some shortcomings, it remains a noteworthy addition to Malayalam cinema.
Extension 2
"Kumbalangi Nights" is a rollercoaster of emotions. Despite some flaws, it beautifully captures family dynamics and rural life in Kerala. Fahadh Faasil shines, elevating the film. The unconventional narrative keeps you engaged. A gem, but not without its imperfections.
Jigarthanda DoubleX (2023)
Cinematic Journey
Solid Cinematic Experience:
This film delivers a solid cinematic experience. While not reaching mind-blowing or masterpiece status, it stands comfortably above average.
Impressive Direction and Performances:
Karthik Subbaraj's direction shines, and S J Surya's performance is killer. The last half hour is a blast, adding a memorable touch to the overall viewing experience.
Well-Told Storyline:
The storyline, though not super gripping, is well-told, with some scenes hitting the mark. It weaves together multiple genres seamlessly.
Drawn Out Moments:
Despite occasional drawn-out moments, the movie captures attention with its legit locations, top-notch cinematography, and vibing background music.
Worth a Watch:
In summary, this film is worth a watch, offering a blend of impressive direction, strong performances, and an engaging if not groundbreaking storyline.
8.1.
Kuttrame Thandanai (2016)
Simple answer- Watch worthy for passing time.
A story that you can follow. It won't surprise you or disappoint you. A simply good presentation will keep your attention.
As for me, I only watched it for passing time.
It's not a mass entertainment. And norther a hidden gem.
The story is predictable and simple.
It's different from the summers you see in imdb. It lacks the movie watching feel .
But with all this flaws it's still not a unwatchable movie. It is not a bad movie that you will regret watching.
Final conclusion.
If you have free time to pass. Don't consider minor flaws. Don't expect a high tier entertainment you can find this enjoyable for you.
I will give it a rating of 6.4.
Blue Period (2021)
A thing you need but probably you don't realize.
What is art and what is uniqueness? Art isn't just painting and it's unique so it doesn't mean that there wasn't anything that inspired the result.
If you want an answer about these " should I watch it, Is it my type, Or Is it worth to watch"
I say you should watch it. It might be something you need or like. You might even be attached to it. And if you are planning to give it a try, you should atleast watch 3 episode. Afterwards it will hit to you surely.
Sometimes it goes deep into story telling and human thinking and emotions, which hit's.
There is a lot you can learn about art and painting from it. It's an obvious answer.
You can learn what's going on in painters mind while the person is making the art.
While all the praise being done. It's not a typical series which you get entertainment and stuff.
And it's also not mind blowing or masterpiece. It makes an mood seeing the story so you don't need to prepare your mind that you are watching something different than others.
After all of this I will say that it will make your time. I would recommend a binge watch.
I will give it a rating of 7.6
