Hell on Wheels: Searchers (2013)
Season 3, Episode 5
5/10
poor representation of the LDS faith.
25 March 2024
There have been two episodes where they attempt to represent the LDS people. However there is a clear lack of understanding of the religion and the people. It's a shame as they. Could have enhanced the series so much more had they done even 10 minutes of research.

The LDS people where very much in support of the rail roads. They onany cases offered up their land so it could be built. They are shown in this series to be zolots and trigger happy nut cases.

Outside of that, the series is very well done and is intriguing. The side stories and main plot tie in well, and the way the characters grow, in most cases make sense. It's well worth the time to watch.

Uncut Gems (2019)
6/10
Oddly compelling film, but strangely unfulfilling.

I had no idea what I was getting in to with this movie. We have a man, who appears to know how to sell jewelry. His attitude come off a lot like Leslie "Les" Gold from Hardcore Pawn. However, he only has about half the business sense. None of his debt is explained or who half the players are. We only see people coming in and out making deals or beating the hell out of him. Most of the problems with the Film, apear to be from the Director and script writers, then any of the actors. You are taken on so many journeys in this movie that by the half way mark, you are asking yourself "what is going on?" If you are looking for something to entertain yourself. Skip it. If you are looking for something to play in the background while you browse the internet or play games. This may be a good option for you. 6 Stars as I think the actors did a fine job with what they had script wise.
