Saturday Night Live: Ariana Grande (2016)
Ariana Grande is Spectacular!!!
Ariana is a One Woman Show! She is superbly talented for Entertainment, she is a record-breaking music artist as well as she is a theater kid and a full threat. The quality that she brings in to the table is very above her peers, she does a great job commanding SNL as host and musical guest. She might be the last best person to perform the double task satisfactorily, up to this day. Complete artist. Remember she was 22 years old at the time and she knocked it out the park, very impressive!
Ariana shines when the skits involve her singing talent so she can show off her musical chops but at the same time she has a great sense of humor. She is also a great celebrity impressionist, which she nailed like 7 times in an hour because when you have Ariana Grande you don't need anybody else.
Highlights are her monologue, the Kids' Choice Awards parody, "This Is Not a Feminist Song" and to see Ariana as a mermaid with a lovely voice, of course. The Tidal skit is definitely the peak moment, while the Celebrity Family Feud and the Sound of Music parts are memorable. Indeed the worst parts of the episode are when Ariana is not on screen! Bring her back already!
Deadpool 2 (2018)
Deadpool 2 is fantastically hilarious!
Deadpool 2 is my favorite Marvel movie. One of the funniest movies I've seen, as a Comedy is better than a superhero movie. Deadpool 2 was totally of my taste, completely loved it. Too bad it has to be called "Deadpool 2" just generically but people should know it is the superior movie. This movie could just be the original no problem, "Deadpool" the part 1 could easily not exist and nothing would be lost. I didn't even feel like watching Deadpool 1 for a second time when it came out. Instead I can watch Deadpool 2 two times in a row so I can pause it to laugh out loud aplenty and I've done that, it is just absolutely fascinating. Sooooooo funny, very few jokes didn't appeal to me, overall it cracks me up pretty bad. The part of the X-Force is the best, hands down, love the humor.
Cable and Domino are standouts. Josh Brolin, in real life he is just as a jokester as Ryan Reynolds. They get along so well.
See in Deadpool 1 there is a bad guy and he has no motivation whatsoever to antagonize Wade to the death the way that he did and I didn't like that, didn't convince me. To me that is weak, unlike this movie's plot. In Deadpool 2 is a lot more complex than just one bad guy, I'm not going deeper into that if you haven't seen it, but the theme of "the bad guy" is the central topic of the movie. That's why it surpasses Deadpool 1 which is said to be, according to Wade, a Love film. Deadpool 2 is a Family film.
The movie is HILARIOUS and this website is too bitter about it. A lot of negative reviews to knock it down from the 8/10. Childish users. Why aren't you happy that part 2 surpassed the 1st?
Aquaman (2018)
Aquaman triumphs at the box office!
Aquaman took it for the DC Comics Universe and becomes their highest-grossing movie worldwide, surpassing Wonder Woman, Superman and even Nolan's Batman trilogy individual films. Who would've thought? People always demean Aquaman so he deservedly got a Huge film! Massive production. A whole new world had to be created underwater, amazing effort. Special effects galore and the script is good enough.
Apparently they made the most out of the superhero, they made the most out of Jason Momoa, treated him good and he shined at moments. However, hardcore fans might complain of his portrayal as a bar thug tattooed kinda trashy guy (that's what some reviews say?) as opposed to the comic version sophisticated and smarter.
I love Amber Heard, she is such a gorgeous woman, to me she is very charismatic. Nicole Kidman, nice special character and great presence. Patrick Wilson and Willem Dafoe delivered accordingly. Black Manta's motivation left me a little incomplete.
Definitely a movie that doesn't emphasize on the acting but in the end, I liked the conclusion so much, it appealed to my taste. I was satisfied, it's a crowd pleaser, nicely written. I'm not gonna knock it down because it's not at the masterpiece level of The Dark Knight, but shall support DC because they really need to compete (after many let-downs) and they did it with Aquaman, pleasantly surprised.
They found the right direction for the superhero, so I think the second part could easily be better, it has to, I have expectations now. Could it be more successful?
