Blade II (2002)
9/10
Great
27 March 2002
There are some types of movies that you walk into expecting a lot of killing,a lot of swearing and snappy dialogue. Blade II is this kind of movie, and it is great. The plot is great, (albeit a little predictable)and some of the computer graphics are extremely noticeable, but altogether this is a great action movie. So many people die a body count would be impossible. The second to last fight scene is unbelievable. Blade puts the icing on the cake when he vertical suplexes the last security guard through a plate glass floor. The music lines up perfectly with the fighting, and I was very impressed with the way the Reaper looks and feeds. A GREAT SEQUEL TO A GREAT MOVIE!!! Looking forward to a trilogy!!!

Resident Evil (2002)
5/10
Ridiculous
15 March 2002
I got to see this movie for free since my best friend works at a local theater. Its a good thing too because I wouldn't have paid over $1.00 to see this crap. I'm a fan of the Resident Evil video games and I understand that the conversion from game to movie is hard. But thats not what made this movie ridiculous, in fact it lines up pretty well with the beginning of the first Resident Evil game, and the movie itself has a good plot. What makes this movie ridiculous is Umbrella's swat team sent in to control the threat of the T- Virus. This is the most absurd conglomeration of soldiers I have ever seen. Most of the people in the squad crap themselves whenever they witness anything bizarre. And Michelle Rodriguez's character "Rain" is absurd. Its like Paul Anderson was writing this movie and said, "hmm I think I'll make one of the characters a ghetto bitch with a bad attitude." If this movie is anyones fault it is Paul Anderson's. From the opening scene where Rain tells another character to "blow me" Resident Evil is full of ridiculous one liners. In fact thats about all of the dialogue. The only real speaking role is that of the "red queen," the A.I computer system that is in control of the lab in which the outbreak has occured. As far as gore and violence go I have no idea why this movie was rated R other than the use of the F word. Anyone who applauds the action (if you can call them that) scenes in this movie is a moron. This movie is a joke and a disgrace to any other zombie based movie. I give it a 6 out of 10 only because Milla Jevovich is naked.

The Goonies (1985)
Absolutely beautiful 80's movie
29 November 2001
I was three years old when this movie came out, so of course I didn't see it in the theater. However, growing up I've always thought "The Goonies" has been with me along the way. This movie is so good and such a classic 80's film that I can't express my feelings enough. I realize I'm making The Goonies sound like Citizen Kane, but really how many people can say that they don't remember this movie, or how much of an impact it had on you when you were little. Everything about this movie is great. Simply a wonderful movie... ROCKY ROAD!!!

Platoon (1986)
Gorgeous Movie
25 June 2001
I saw the edited version of this on TNT and I had to own it. This movie is one of the greatest I have ever seen. The most beautiful part is that it makes no attempt to glorify or justify war. Oliver Stone is a genius, and both Willem Dafoe and Tom Berrenger give excellent performances. This is the kind of movie that alters your thought process, plain and simple!!!
