Damsel (2024)
Millie Bobby Brown is the new Mother of Dragons
Millie Bobby Brown delivers a committed performance in this medieval dark fantasy film that's more suspense action thriller than your traditional fairy tale
You can tell she has a bright future ahead of her in the action genre and performed most of her own stunts.
I loved how powerful her acting was; this is definitely a film I would gladly watch with my daughter if I am ever lucky enough to have one.
The creature design and visual effects that went into bringing The Dragon to life were absolutely incredible and deserve to be recognized as well, as was Shohreh Aghdashloo's voice acting in the role.
Madame Web (2024)
Perfectly Imperfect
Johnson is awesome in this imperfect, perfectly entertaining comic book movie that leans heavily into being a suspense thriller reminiscent of Final Destination which Deserves none of the rampant hate and review bombing.
Yes, some of the dialogue is cringey but it doesn't ruin the film as a whole.
I'm addition I loved the paramedic scenes and thought it was a great way to flesh out Johnson's character, which was also refreshingly relatable and actually reminded me of Jessica Jones.
As I mentioned earlier, the film really embraces the suspsense thriller aspect and in more than one action scene, did my anxiety go through the roof in the best way possible.
The Barn Part II (2022)
Retro Halloween Awesomeness
This movie was EXACTLY what I wanted it to be
A fun horror movie with a fun story, likable characters, and creative kills, all set to an awesome retro Halloween vibe with a matching aesthetic and plenty of practical effects
As big fan of the original film, The Barn, I was incredibly excited to see the follow up The Barn II and had a premiere night with some friends
Once the Blu-Ray arrived, we cleared our calendars, bought some pumpkin ales and candy, all to add to the Halloween atmosphere
I'm not going to get into spoiler territory but let's just say there's a few welcome surprises in store :)
The New Mutants (2020)
Fans of the Comics Will Love It
As a long time comic book reader and lover of X-Men, this film exceeded all my expectations and I'm so happy it finally came out
It's a shame Fox didn't let Josh Boone didn't get to go as heavy on the horror as he wanted but the film itself was still so much fun.
