Heroes (II) (2006–2010)
4/10
Heroes more like stop some tea-leaf has stolen my ideas!
18 October 2006
A series of clichés stolen ideas stinky editing brought together with mediocre writing. So just you're run of the mill sci fi show. It's clearly trying to get in on the marvel super hero boom that we have seen over the past few years of "film" but didn't want the crusty old busy body Stan Lee getting a slice of the pie so we have none of the famous names that every superhero geek has come to love.

I seem to have high expectations when it comes to new sci fi/ fantasy shows because I am always disappointed. I love science fiction and I adore the escapism of fantasy I dream of a good show a show where I don't have to wince as it stutters and lags through from show to show because of the ineptitude of its creators of course I'm bothered by its cruddy mistakes I'm a geek I'm watching a show about superheroes.

To give the show some credit it is a lot better than "Aquaturd" but heroes is never the less just as offencive to anyone who reads comics or likes to think a little about what they are watching.

The two female characters seemingly there from the very start as sexual relief, the shot where Claire Bennet the regenerating school girl (who doesn't seem to feel pain for some strange reason) is bent over in her cheerleader outfit after saving a man from a burning train wreck was quite disgustingly cheep, and the other female hero is a mommy stripper but the only thing cheap about this character is her child genius yawn. Some of the over clichés "opps" characters are a terrible "druggy" painter his paintings really do suck but hold the future! (Shoot me I'm an art critic). A Japanese comic book geek (sigh) another mild mannered geek and his brother the politician and lastly an Indian doctor and thats not even going near the Magneto type super villain Grrr. There are a few more characters that I may have misses but nothing that you haven't seen before.

I'd prefer to watch Eureka myself it may have just as many "stuttery laggy" moments but a least its fun and has some original ideas, but saying all that its better than nothing wish the same could be said for Dr Who.

Legion of Super Heroes (2006–2008)
1/10
super tweeny man and his not so amazing friends from future
14 October 2006
First off let me start by saying this is most definitely not a Justice League it doesn't even come close to being in the same Galaxy. I'm not a fan of the childalization of super heroes and this is a show confirms my feelings that it's just a stinky thing to do. The show seems to depend heavily on the popularity of superman and should be called something like "super tweeny man and his amazing lackluster friends from the future" The rest of the legion of super kids are very much unremarkable much as the entire concept of the show. Just say no kids and perhaps they will scrap this pile of don't, don't bother and give us some real super hero action

Doctor Who (2005– )
1/10
Dr Poo and the stinky crew
13 October 2006
Dr who has got to be one of the worst Sci fi show around! I'm not saying it's such a bad concept but the show wasn't made with any skill or love. Bad acting Tennant lets face it is not a good actor, and Piper is about as good as any random girl off the street who has had been given a couple of lessons she most definitely doesn't have any talent. The scripts and continuity was awful and only just bearably by hitting oneself in the temple. Most of all it was the lazy camera work and cinematography that made me feel sick the crew might have well been filming the news. Ooooh those cybermen marching up and down the street made Zena and Lexx look like Oscar material (How many shoots did we have to see)? Its GCSE film if you can't afford it takes your shots in tight. The list of school boy mistakes is endless the only thing OK about the last season was the SFX and they were well lame for anywhere outside of the BBC. I haven't seen such stinky bad villains since Spiderman 2004 the animation. I'm feed up with being given this kind of crap and as a sci fi fan expecting to like it. Yes I have a place in my heart for some of the old B movies, I love the Ed Wood's movies as pieces of art (not cinema) But I'm never going to watch Marcy Mark and the planet of the apes again as long as I live because it's just expensive tat. There is a huge difference between not having enough budget and facilities to fulfil your ambitions and being one of the talentless turds involved on the Dr Poo production namely Graeme Harper and Russell T Davies who should stick to working for Casualty and the Bill. There really does seem to be a huge lack of talent in the BBC these days can't wait to see the new season of Red Dwarf or Hyperdrive yay!
