Rana Naidu (2023)
We have Hollywood for such content!
We don't need indians to create such content that are already being made in the west countiess times .. especially unnecessary sexualisation and forced vulgarities in the name of being diverse ! Completely disappointed that veteran actor venkatesh and rana known for bahubali choose such trash as acceptable to make in India. Even the subtitles are written with vulgarities when the Hindi dialogue didn't have any at places 😂.
I can understand Hindi cinema is facing a difficult phase but I never expected it to stoop this low! It's so fake when you guys try to be white people ! Don't spoil the veterans who have built up Hindi cinema and it's great legacy.
Mr. Midnight: Beware the Monsters (2022)
Its very cheesy, enjoyable but nothing Singaporean! more like tanah merah in Indonesia?
It's super cheesy and fun in a lame way, akin to somewhat like goosebumps. With many draggy shots, you can fast-forward 10-20sec at numerous scenes to get to the point. I still have no clue if this is supposed to be set in Singapore, Indonesia or a fictional 'universe' called Tanah Merah; I reckon it is the latter (It could've taken a min or two to prepare and tune the audience to ease throughout the series).
As a Singaporean, it's tough to digest as every few seconds, the thought of how this is remotely even Singapore keeps ringing (from housing shown to streets or cemetery/ kampungs with fishermen? Messy, unorganised construction or even corruption/riots). I'd believed the entire presentation better if the series was set in Malaysia or any other Asian country, albeit the accent. Episodes 1-10 were enjoyable and adventurous, whilst 11-13 fell short as the setup for the antagonist spirit and challenges to face were high (especially the flashback) but, on the contrary, felt easily defeated. The finale proved entirely to be lazy writing. Also, how did ling come back alive if the portal was closed? Then why didn't grandpa dukun survive is questionable?
The sets erected were beautiful and realistic (Except Streets of Tanah Merah), and the prosthetics make-up effects (whoever did kudos) were excellent. Visually well done and technically sound, incredibly complex shots/scenes. SFX and CGI were great. The background score works in places.
Overall, if the making aims to attract a global audience at large, it will work wonders as a Halloween treat for the entire family.
P. S: And what's with the Singapore entertainment industry constantly choosing Chinese, white people or mixed fair-skin talents as the majority? I would love to see more diversity and inclusion in characters, if there's a season two, by being true to the Singaporean or Indonesian roots portrayed better.

Soorarai Pottru (2020)
Inspiring and Soulful , Worth the Cinemas but available for your small screens
It starts intense and gets you attention immediately as mara's world and his challenges start to unravel. No dream is big if you put your heart and soul into it. Thats the message from this true story inspired epic. Great acting and characters created.
Sudha Kongra never fails to amaze us with her great stories and characters.
Its worth the watch in cinemas but what the heck, watch it with you family in comfort via prime video. Just be careful of some vulgarities to come.
INTENSE,INSPIRING,FIERY.
