The Charmings (1987–1988)
One of the best shows of the 80's
20 June 2004
I watched this show from day one and fell in love with Lillian. Scheming, malicious evil women are my one weakness. I always felt they should have chucked the rest of the cast and made it the Lillian and the magic mirror show. I still have all 21 episodes from 1987 that are still in good viewing condition, save one ep. I just watched them not long ago after learning of Paul Winfield's untimely death.

Paul Winfield has some great one liners throughtout the series.

Lillian: "Lets see..what should I wear?" (Begins to disrobe) Mirror: "I dont know but if you're taking your clothes off I'm leaving. (disappears from view

Mirror: "Ok, Lillian. You want to know who's fairer than you? (Pulls out telephone book and opens it) "Now this is just the greater los angeles area."

Lillian: "Im good with forest animals" Mirror: "you barbecue them"

Lillian get sick and Mirror tells her to open wide so he can look Mirror: "Whoa! Its all nasty back there Lillian: "what should I do?" Mirror: Close your mouth! Your'e making me sick!"

Plus so many more. I wish one day these would be released to dvd. Charmings rule! Mirror: Face it honey, you cant even type"

Another adventure begins
10 June 2004
This movie was good, but I hate it when they change directors. The whole style changes. While the location was still Hogwarts, the whole areas seemed different. Hagrid's hut was further away from the castle and not guarding the dark forest as before. The Whomping Willow was entirely different and also nowhere near the castle.

Gambon's interepetation of Dumbledore was ok, but I will always favor Richard Harris. I did notice the Fat lady had also been replaced. As was Tom from the leaky cauldron.

Several principal characters were also missing Peeves(again) Flitwick, Headless Nick. Hopefully they will be in the later films.

Sleepy Hollow (1999)
VERY, VERY, BAD FILM
6 May 2003
This film should never have been made. Tim Burton took one of the greatest literature classics and warped it into a monstrosity. Cant he do one thing right? It was bad enough when he twisted Batman around to serve his own purposes(making the Joker his parent's killer instead of two bit thug, Joe Chill)

If you have any appreciation for the original story, DO NOT SEE this film!

Dark Shadows (1966–1971)
A great classic from the 60's
22 April 2003
1795- "I set a curse on you Barnabas Collins-" 1967- Dark Shadows, after being on for less than one year was on the verge of being thrown into oblivion, forgotten and lost forever, along with a 172 year old family secret. Then quite by accident, a vampire was released from his coffin and Television history was made!

This show, campy, and low budget(who could afford anything else 40 years ago?) became a household word along with its star attraction, Vampire Barnabas Collins. Now that it is finally on DVD, (THANK YOU, MPI VIDEO!!!!) Those who remember can return to their childhood days and relive it all again, and those who were not there, can see for themselves what made this a soap opera hit! Nowadays, most soaps focus on "who slept with who," or "who is going to overthrow a corporate bigwig" Not this show! Vampires, witches, werewolves, warlocks and ghosts rule here!

No other soap has been remembered this long and no other soap has ever made it to yearly conventions or VHS and DVD. This show is immortal as the vampire themselves. No matter how hard anti fans try to kill it, this show will always be resurrected! Dark shadows rules!

The Munsters (1964–1966)
One of the greatest show in television history
21 April 2003
When I was a child I remember one of the local networks airing reruns of this excellent series. I always loved anything to do with monsters and the supernatural and this show was no exception. It was several years later before I saw the Addams Family, but Gomez was no Herman.

I think the greatest draw of the show was Grandpa, (aka sam dracula) No one knew how to stir up a batch of mischief like him. The best mischief I liked most was when he and Herman got together. Only to be countered by the head of the house, Lily.

Eddie obviously took after his Uncle Lester. Still I would like to know how the Dracula vampire clan ended up with a werewolf for a son.

Marilyn, I never cared for. She wasn't normal like the rest of them. Kind of makes me curious how Lily's unseen and unnamed sister ended up with a daughter like that. I suspect she married an average human.

All and all, the Munsters will always be tops in my book.

One of the better movies
26 February 2003
I have this hard to find movie. It is a great pseudo documentary of the Bigfoot mystery. A group of researchers, along with an old mountain man, an Indian and a reporter trek deep into the wilderness of Great Britain beyond the Peckatoe river in search of a legend. Though fiction, the movie has several real factual accounts of bigfoot encounters. A must have movie for anyone interested in the world's greatest mystery.

Tootsie (1982)

One of my favorite movies
9 February 2003
This movie is one of the greatest classics of all time, regardless of what some people think. Dustin Hoffman delivers one of the best performances of any actor/actress. Robin Williams' portrayal as a 60 year old housekeeper 11 years later wasn't bad, but doesnt compare to a middle aged, outspoken southern belle.

My favorite lines: Dorothy Michaels: "And just zap him right in his badoobies." Dabney Coleman: "uh oh" and "oh no! Not live!" George Fields: "You're psychotic" Dorothy Michaels: "No I'm not. I'm employed." Bill Murray: "You slut!"

Not a bad sequel but.........
15 November 2002
Like all HP fans, Ive been waiting for a year for the second live version of 7 set movies. I liked it, and yet, I didnt find it as appealing as the first. To me they seemed to rush through it, to try to finish it in time for a 2002 release. The film quality seemed different as well. The teachers didnt seem to have many scenes either. Snape, for example was not seen as nearly as enough as the last time, on the other hand Argus Filch had a little more airtime than in the last movie, however certain facts about him from the book was left out entirely.

And once again, in the so called wisdom of Chris Columbus, Peeves the poltergeist was left out again. He was even listed in the credits as played by an actual actor. As was the librarian Irma Pince, also credited as an actress.

Richard Harris, as Dumbledore was noticeably ill, from the second half on. Im glad he had the courage to finish the movie. I hope they find a suitable replacement for the third movie, though no one can ever replace such a perfect model for Dumbledore.

As for Lucius Malfoy, I liked the character. They picked a good actor for the part. It will be interesting who will play the ultimate villain in movie number 4.

How did this ever get into production?
15 January 2002
I grew up with 70's and 80's cartoons. I remember very well the "real" transformers. This is definitley not them! I don't know who these imposters are but they are not Optimus Prime and Megatron! Who ever came up with this idea has no business in the animation industry!

Forever Knight (1992–1996)
One of a kind show
7 November 2001
Perhaps one of the two best tv vampire shows to ever air(dark shadows 1966 being the other)

It was very disappointing that Sony Tristar demanded the show be cancelled during the middle of 3rd season. After the backlash from angry fans, the show did make it thru five more shows including a series finale.(A finale most did not expect would happen in the way it did)

There were 70 episodes all together. Perhaps if Sony had listened to reason, it would have made a 4th season totaling 100 episodes. Die hard fans are trying to get together a FK movie of the week. I wish them the best of luck in the attempt.

Monster Force (1994)
great cartoon!
5 November 2001
Great cartoon from universal studios. Features characters such as Dracula, the mummy, the Frankenstein monster and bride, a wolfman.

Downside- totally drawn un-universal. Dracula has yellow skin and blue hair(for example) Only 13 episodes. Unaired since 94, as far as I know. If you have them as I do, my recommendation is to hold onto them.
