On the edge of my seat!
27 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Oh boy! What an ending!

I've got to admit I've not been as on edge as I have been watching this than I have watching anything in the past year (excluding Spiderverse 2 obviously). I really loved everything about this episode. Pacing was marvelous, the characters were on point (somehow they made me feel sympathy for Dox despite me not really even being invested in her character) and as always for this show the cinematography and direction is absolutely immaculate. One particular scene that stands out to me is of course that absolutely chilling scene where Dox and her crew are brutally crushed to death by the torture machine they showed earlier on in the season (a great little use of chekhov's gun and foreshadowing). The gleeful looks from Miss minutes, the horrified look from Brad (I'm calling him Brad now) as his old teammates get crushed to death. The feeling of rising tension especially in the latter half of the episode is more than present through shaking and lights flicking in the background even when it's slowing down for some character moments. Some top tier sci-fi and some top tier horror! I love it!

Best Animated Movie Since Into The Spiderverse
22 June 2023
Across the spiderverse is an absolute visual masterpiece, but not only that it has very great characters, the best that I've seen in years, perhaps since the OG spiderverse. I've heard the cliffhanger at the end has been complained about but to be honest all I've seen is people complaining that the movie 5 hours long which appears to be more of a compliment than anything.

Gwen's universe is a particular visual highlight for me as the background changes to match the mood and the watercolour effect just makes me absolutely stare in awe. The soundtrack on top of all of this is phenomenal! So much emotion and so many good themes for the characters, specifically the spot and Spider-Man 2099 for me. So yeah I'd say go see the movie, give them your money as this is what I want to see in movies more often, something so awesome I have to gush about.

Rick and Morty, I thought we were done with this
20 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't mind a bit of gross out humour here and there and of course humour is subjective but this week's episode has been the most uncomfortable episode since the incest baby. Of course, what I'm grossed out by in this episode is the self-cest with Beth and Space-Beth. I'm starting to get the idea that the writers of this show have some sort of fetish for this kind of thing. Like I said I'm all for gross out humour but that's in small doses, I get that it's supposed to be gross but I want to actually watch and enjoy Rick and Morty, not have to deal with one of these episodes every season at this point. There were quite a few funny jokes dispersed across the episode which I enjoyed. The game console subplot was weak because for some reason the writers seemed to have their focus on the self-cest plot. If I had to give the self-cest part any points it would be that it was well written enough and explain well enough too. To conclude I feel the episode was quite the weird one and not in a good way, the self-cest plot made me want to turn off what I was watching and I don't think that I really enjoyed this episode.

It's clear the critics don't like fun
18 May 2022
Idk why this is so low rated, it's fun and that's all it's meant to be, if you're expecting an in-depth character study then you're not looking in the right place but if you are then this is the right show for you.

A brilliant episode
5 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode manages to set up stakes from every angle and really makes the whole episode intense, Brian is as great as ever and Piper is also good.

I'm unsure if I have any reason to fault this episode, it build stakes and then at the end surprises and then surprises again.

Perhaps the best episode since the capaldi era
7 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Genuinely was shocked about how good this episode was, it didn't have the usual mass of expository dialogue it usually has and yaz actually had something to do, although she did walk about and ask questions a lot.

The sontarans we perhaps the highlight of the episodes and I think perhaps portrayed better than some of the Russell era and wasn't just a joke like in the moffat era.

The doctor had a good bit when explaining the sontarans to the soldiers and for most of the runtime she felt like a proper doctor.

Something I did find strange was the 1920's hole digging sideburn guy not really having historically accurate racism, I know it's not necessary and racism is horrible but it is needed if they want to be historically accurate and it did make it feel a bit inaccurate but that's just a minor issue and I didn't need to hear or see any racism so it's ok.

Finally I think Dan's part was quite enjoyable and humourous, I enjoyed the inclusion of his parents but I'm worried that they're just here for this one episode, the dog fella wasn't too bad but his inclusion in this episode does feel a bit cheap but it was sort of set up in the previous episode so I'll let it go.

It did feel all feel a bit convenient that this temporal implosion thing happened but it's a science fiction show so I'll let it go on that one.

Overall a surprisingly great episode of who.

One of the better Chris Chibnall episodes
31 October 2021
Overall it's a pretty exciting episode of doctor, some bits that appeared that it was trying to be scary, some pretty good laughs. It was mostly just setting up the upcoming season with some monsters and other things being set up throughout the episode so there wasn't much of a story but there is still some there to follow.

Pretty average episode.

Doctor Who: Turn Left (2008)
Season 4, Episode 11

One of the best episodes of all time!
3 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely loved this episode, Catherine Tate is brilliant with the spotlight on her for the majority of the run-time and Bernard Cribbins is also amazing, especially with that heart-breaking scene with the family being taken to labour camps. I'm not such a big fan of rose but even I was happy to see her back in this episode. The concept of this episode is executed brilliantly, showing a world where the doctor dies and never meets Martha or Donna and never saves the planet all those times. Happy to see UNIT towards the end of this episode too, despite them barely being in this episode. I hope we get more episodes like this when Russell returns in 2023!

A bit too slow paced for me
19 July 2021
For this episode I ended up being bored for the majority of the time watching it, it's not without merit though, when it goes for action it does well and same with comedy, I think that it had some good emotional moments, but for me it's all a bit slow paced, I know other people are absolutely fine with slower paced stories but my low attention span can't deal with all this exposition between characters, but other than that it was ok.

Great Twist
19 July 2021
At first I thought this episode was going to chalk up to a pretty average boring filler episode but I was pleasantly surprised by how well they handled the comedy, action and all, I'll admit I did get bored getting towards the end but the ending brought my interest right back up and the twist at the very end as well, superb episode.

Extremely Boring
27 December 2020
The acting from most of the supporting cast is super wooden, it reminds me of Bugs, I nearly fell asleep in the second act and the rest is not much better, it gets 2 stars because Sam and Dean are still in this but unfortunately not much until the 2nd act
