WTF On So Many Levels
3 September 2004
There are just so many things wrong with this movie. It's not abstract enough to survive on story alone so the film maker did rely on the realistic points of the story. Unfortunately, there are none.

This story wouldn't be considered normal by today's standards let alone 1963!! Two 14 year old ENCOURAGED to have sex by their parents. The girl gets pregnant like it's no big deal. She decides to stay with her boyfriend who doesn't seem to care about the fact that she's pregnant AND it's not his baby. Everyone is jumping for joy that she's having this baby... HELLO?!?!? She's 14!! I've NEVER seen anyone happy to have a baby at that age. Everyone that finds out about the baby acts like it's no big deal. In 1963, you would've been run out of town for being that way.

Most of the story isn't fleshed out for the right reasons. Lydia's character is in almost every comedy/drama about the 50's/60's these days. The relationship between her and her son is pretty disgusting and just doesn't make sense. Whose Mom ever licked semen off her son's sock or bathed with her lover in front of her son. That'd get you locked up no matter what century you're in.

I tried to get past these grotesque issues and focus on the characters and their stories but the only thing that makes this movie interesting is all the stuff I just mentioned. Unfortunately, that's the kind of comedy I'd look for in South Park, not some "Sundance Classic".

1/10.

I Never Stopped Laughing!
25 October 2002
I can't summarize the plot, because there is no plot. It's exactly like the TV show except funnier, wilder, and just plain better. I've never laughed through the entire run-time of a movie. As I was walking out of the movie theater I couldn't beleive the pain in my sides and my jaw from laughing for so long and so hard!

Fans of the show will be treated to the Mecca of Jackass episodes, basically, and people who don't follow Jackass and what they do might be turned off. You see a lot of stuff you don't necessarily want to see, but it's all part of the gag.

Even though almost all movie theaters are trying to card teens trying to get in, you can't stop kids from getting into this movie! It's just too good to keep people away from. 10/10!

It's a perfect Crime/Comedy in so many ways.
14 August 2002
You know the basics, let's get to the particulars.

Matthew Perry's best work outside of FRIENDS. Three To Tango is a very close 2nd. Not only is he perfect for this movie, but he does everything perfectly in it. His body language, physical comedy, and general acting abilities are at it's peak as far as I'm concerned.

Bruce Willis was easily the best man for the job. He has an incredible way of being extremely intimidating and can go on a killing spree in movies for no reason, yet we still want him to live (doesn't matter if he's good or bad). Am I the only one who didn't want him to die in The Jackal? He's the second funniest guy in this movie and hitman persona comes through in fine style.

Although Michael Clark Duncan was perfect as the bodyguard/hitman of Yanni's, we still wanted him to live, right? Like Bruce Willis, he can go around killing good/bad people, but we'd still bring him over for to see Mom, right? He played his smaller role very well and he should be proud of his work (even though he didn't get too many lines).

Funniest Whole Nine Yards moment: Oz sees Jimmy T and he tries to flee, but gets stopped by Figgs. He then falls over a nearby lamp and "wets" himself. A MUST BUY MOVIE!
