Supernatural: Galaxy Brain (2020)
A Waste
I dont understand the high ratings. It was clear this season that the writers have already given up. I dont know what show I just watched but this is not Supernatural. Everything is just so dumb. Plotlines after plotlines gets dumber and dumber and characters are no longer working within the personalities built over the years. So many things are just so bad and corny. The way they made the villain in this season is not even worthy being the ultimate villain of this whole show. Any of the worst and lamest monster of the week from seasons 1 to 5 is much better than the villain this whole season. Yech.
Supernatural: The Trap (2020)
Boring
Theres too much talking and stalling. So many things we have already seen before. Overlydramatic. Cheesy and lame. Writers are overdoing the fan service and dragging these used up plotlines. This felt more like a terrible fan fiction than a legitimate Supernatural episode. I wish they just put together all the plotlines they wanted to recycle and just jam it altogether in one sucky episode so we dont have to watch so many bad episodes stretched out this season. We are almost in the middle of this LAST season and my faith in this show is hanging for dear life
Supernatural: Atomic Monsters (2019)
Classic and Satisfying
This episode was a huge leap from the failed attempts of the three earlier episodes this season. This episode definitely felt like a true Supernatural episode.
It started with a very strong intro - fight scenes were good, even used a slow mo though might have overused just a tiny bit but its fine, nice lighting too. Very interesting indeed but this episode will not give you the closure you need for this particular arc. Hopefully we get it in the other episodes.
Although the main storyline was typical and nothing special, the delivery and execution was very likeable enough. It was cleaner and more well thought of compared to earlier episodes that was just all over the place. Im glad how they wrapped up this case and how the story gave a chance for the bad guy to be "moral" regardless of the expected ending. Good timing and good choice of the music in the end as well.
There are some loopholes still but bearable. I have to say that although I did like the lines in the end, I just cant stop feeling tired of hearing the main characters going back and forth with this self pity thing. I mean after 15 years of justifying why they do what they do, they kept on coming back to this "i am so tired of saving the world crap" convo like as if its the first time they talked about it. The thing is they always talk about it and they dealt with it so many damn times already but for some reason they refuse to grow and move on to better arguments. Tbh, they could easily be the frontman for the tv versions of Die Hard cuz they just wont die and yet they are eternally having this existential crisis. Its getting old. How I wish they could just quote John Mcclane when he was asked why he does what he does "Because there's no body else to do it right now, that's why. Believe me, if there were somebody else to do it, I'd let them do it, but there's not. So we're doing it." I mean cmon, they save people. They protect those who cant protect themselves because they can. Their friends and family who believed in them and died know this. We all know this. At this point they should already know who they are and why they do what they do.
Anyways, overall this episode is a job well done. Its Jensen's last directed episode and he really did deliver a worthy one.
Supernatural: Back and to the Future (2019)
Lame ghosts and cheesy jokes
Lots and lots and lots of sun. Like everywhere bright and shiny asf desperate housewives much? Ghosts just love to sunbathe and to run sprints in this episode. They could teleport, but no, they decided running is faster. They probably saved on the costumes and makeup but why why why would they make it so obvious by shooting in broad daylight? It just made the whole thing cheap and lame as their jokes.
On the other hand, opening scenes were good finally saw them work as a team. Music was too cheesy for the scene. Those flying kicks belong to a kung fu show not this one. That was way overreaching lol. The only thing thats perfect for me is the flashback scene in the end.
Overall, this season opener was a missed opportunity. Too bad there wont be anymore of those.
Supernatural: Raising Hell (2019)
Cringefest
Still lots of sun and sunbathing from the ghosts. But oh do the ghosts love union meetings too lol I mean that white cast, right, cmon, its gotta be spf900 or something because thats the only vibe im getting here not scary at all lol. The actors tried their best to deliver ill give them that, but still wasnt able to save it.
The first episode and this too felt like a parody or spoof of some sort and not an actual episode from our beloved Supernatural. And whatevers happened to big bro? Felt like he's either soulless or on menopause since S14x18.
