Succession (2018)
Absolute Masterpiece
Completing riveting, I decided to give this series a chance even though I'm not fascinated by Pretentious Business People who think their sitting job is some sacrifice or some contribution. I laughed and was quite amused
by keenly observing the psychologies being depicted that are inspired by certain mileaus in existence in the real world.
Watching Succession is a Masterclass in realizing how feeble and inept a whole of people and lifestyles can be, mainly pale people loathing by there ancestors genocided all the natives, to be fashionable, not having actual reasons . These people have no real world problems but they're sick so they're sad clowns doing loathing gymnastics to make something out of nothing so they can try to relate with real people with real lifestyles, from real parts of world where they actually have to do them and be at least marginally brave. Ofcourse these characters are parallels of inept people that would have to pay expensive confidence artist therapists lots of money to hear about their non-problems because ofcourse you'd have to pay lots of money for a real person not to laugh in your face and show they're entertained by your routine.
Only cowardly palies and pale way of clumsying through life could find this show serious. Shows none of them can lead a real life. But other than that. I enjoy these depictions.
Renegade Cut (2012)
Nasty Polemics Conceals Behind The Shallow Aura Of Entertainment and Opinion
Videos produced by a group of selfish chauvinists (i.e. Displaying excessive or prejudiced support for one's own cause, group, or sex) bent on simultaneously profiteering and harming others with vilification and exaggerated defamation. Overdoing it.
I Am (2010)
Delusional in a poetically entertaining way (The woo makes me feel like i'm in a zoo)
"The basis of nature is cooperation and democracy. It's in our DNA."
I saw a video the other day of crocodiles cruelly holding a zebra, while the other zebra's crossed, one performing a death roll and tear off it's face graphically.
A week ago, a woman in my area was attacked by coyotes and is in the hospital. Where's the consensus in that.
A salmon eventually becomes a host to a parasitic worm. Did the salmon cast it's vote?
Generally, all males animals are highly territorial, sometimes there are matriarchs who value the same. They tend to fight over preeminence over a domain. Stop to any means available to them. Humans extended the process of leadership changes, with an extra layer of conceptual democracy. Universalizing it is a deception and propaganda. Democracies an idea.
See the way these creative expressions work is that they negate aspects of life, to fraudulently take the aspects that are left, the beauty or poetic aspects of existence and deceivingly magnify them as the universal or as the only one that exist, which is kind of malicious and absolutely evil. As an abstract to highlight what i'm getting at: some forms of evil (i.e. Simply meaning negative force/momentum in existence) coerce others through violence to get what they want. (i.e the lion kills the gazelle to get to its flesh) Other animates deceive to get to what they want. (i.e. The venus fly trap, draws the fly in through an alluring scent that lowers the guard of the intended victim) This is the underlying relationship between those involved in producing this drama and those engaging with it. But i'm no Bambi in the Forest waiting to be eaten that easily, so when some woo woo confidence artists rears their deceptive head with this documentary, be sure i'm going to punch them in the gut by writing a review like this educating others about the facts of their behaviour driving this form of creative expression. It includes a lot of deceit. Predators like this, that is we are all hunter gatherers in a sense, so let us not single them out as just being the one, gather their meals off of the lowest common denominators (i.e. People who are feeling low on life) and get bitter and vindictive about those who have strong mental and physical faculties, they cannot deceive or hoodwink. And are independent and doing perfectly fine, without their woo.
Personalities that create productions like this are not benign. They navigate towards achieving their desire through deceit/poetry. There is a hard to spot undercurrent of malice that drives their woo, behaviour and actions. Although highly charismatic (i.e. Like how the venus fly trap is highly attractive/charasmatic to fly through the scent that it produces, but if fly gets too close it loses it's life and the venus fly trap gets fed; you get too close you will spend money and they will achieve what they desire through you, it is a objective process, it is a subjective relationship between you as the viewer and everyone involved in the production)
It is a sublime mental activity, that is the subjugation of the awful, through denying or being in denial, what one views or cannot handle on individual level, as the negative aspects of it, is sublime. (In a way they're beauti-philes, people who only see what they want to see; not truth seekers, people who have the courage to see it all, the good and the bad, vaguely put)
In general, the problem with these kinds of personalities involved in these kinds of creative expressions, is when you have the courage to reasonably point out their manipulative malice, even in private, out of respect and compassion, they tend to get overly aggressive or if a little more clever, extraordinarily passive aggressive, but still incredibly malicious. The aggressive tends to be a kaleidoscope in the truth about the situation. They're not fully woo when they think they're woo, just arrogant and disrespectful. Usually why they get isolated from people. And then tend to drift into fantasy about being "ONE", (i.e. These people are habital smokescreeners) basically emotionally lacerating themselves about their inadequacies in a deceiving way and projecting outwards the opposite. The reason I give this documentary 1 star, is that I don't like when people lie to my face and then manipulate to get out of it or cover up, instead of being sincere. I value sincerity deep in my heart. It Is something cannot get away from do away with at the producers whim. Although they try to provide me with the means of escape through this documentary. I am not so naive. Find another customer.
Carnal Knowledge (1971)
Absolute Gold
The dichotomy between Sandy (Art Garfunkel) and Jonathan (Jack Nicholson) personalities is phenomenal. Jonathan is brutal and honest. And the negative feature of his personality supplements the positive feature of his personality and you cannot lose one without the other.
Sandy is good but dishonest. And it is displayed flawlessly how these two facets of his personality make each other possible with his personality that others experience. Sandy is so dishonest that he internalizes it and it causes him to be oblivious to reality, until it hits boiling point and he get humiliated or humbled (depends on which school of thought you come from) later in the film during the slideshow. The oblivious byproduct of Sandy's dishonesty, gives off the appearance of goodness to others because he's too oblivious to pose a threat.
Now Jonathan's essence of brutal honesty does not have to reflect in his shocking behaviour and the byproduct is tremendous self loathing of a reality he cannot handle and a brutality towards others. A person can have a brutally honest personality and still have a more sophisticated way of expressing it that does less harm to others. Think a Tough but Fair Personality, where people are left better off by one's fairness and one is spare a sink into delusion through his straight forwardness.
Rick and Morty (2013)
Interesting Concept
Mentally unstable and deeply arrogant people reimagine an exaggerated world where they believe everything is beneath them, which results in intense amusement, characterized by pure forgetfulness and the passage of time going unnoticed, empirically. Throw one of these bad boys onto your smart phone and watch an episode with earphones at the doctors office waiting in queue for you appointment and you'll be left wondering why is everyone in the waiting room so flippant pissed of. I'm having the time of my life and service is quick.
Can't Get You Out of My Head (2021)
Another "The Sky is Falling" Adolescent Manipulation
Every generation from the beginning of the species is littered with these either broken or exploitative personalities like Adam Curtis, that if the case is the former, just because their inner psychology is not working for them, the world must be a catastrophe. (likened to if a man dates one woman and that woman hurts his feelings, all women must be bad) This documentary series panders to these kinds of overly simple generalizing minds or immature minds, that cannot see past their neurosis/insecurity and walk right into charlatan Adams grift capitalize on vulnerable minds to help keep his opportunities up and pay off his mortgage. There's not core meaning to his documentary. You would have to be on drugs to manufacture meaning out of this cacophony of images and dialogue but unfortunately I mean this is good faith, and I hope some people read this and consider their mental limitations instead of coming to confident conclusion about the world after watch this documentary because the artificial manufacturing of meaning is in essence clinical psychosis. Adam simply feeds into peoples psychosis, there's no polite way of putting it. Our species is so dramatic that it can be said in any generation, by insert any cunning charlatan or salesperson of that time that the world will be ending soon and their will be enough people with a lazy intellect or limited foresight to generate endless wealth for the person that capitalizes on that neurosis, like Adam does here. Framing or manipulation wise, It's a very sophisticated way of throwing tantrum (caveat: if Adam believes in his own work) because you dislike the politics, the surface level social trends of each generation or life in general. It's like if you were a child and your parent did not like your behaviour they would tell you a horror or folk story of a creature that visits them in the night to take bad children away. Adam in essence, does the same thing here, he manipulates by simply (again, if he believes in his work) telling a "the sky is falling" story over several episodes to get people to behave the way he wants them to behave (in some schools of thought, it's called "projecting", but I simply call it "being manipulative" or "coercive" or dishonest (because lies are interesting and there is a market with near endless wealth for that kind of mental entertainment; but plain existence is unbearably boring to most people, so that's why people generally tell lies and enjoy doing so and it can get to point where it gets labeled something clinical, unethical society wise or just plain delusion and personal egotism, socially), because you cannot be happy with what you have). Which is his aspiration here. One thing I learned from this documentary is that there are people "greedy for meaning" and there is a market for that as a business person.
Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars (2014)
This is actual evil taking place
Shows like this harm the public and do not contribute to society. If you oppose this view, you're a criminal. There is no nice way to put it. Take a good look at yourself for a few and you will come to an unfortunate understanding of your state of affairs. Ish Major is a criminal with a pretence. A pure sociopath, he prances around with slowed speech and a soft act to lure his victims and use them for his material gain. He has done so much exploitation through this platform that this display via show is neither amusing nor insightful to the audience. It unintentionally shines a light on the exploitation that takes place in society by watching the guy who expects us to watch the people he's exploiting instead. It's a tragic comedy, where Ish Major is the tragic villain that has no intention to do better by continuing to bank on this. The things that people do for money because money is symbolic of all desires satisfied. It is an attack on the culture of human well being with. And thank God, that it has randomly come to the light by being part of a show, thinking this behaviour was going to entertain and educate. It allows the viewers to be weary of these charlatans and insecure predators out in public.
The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006)
Gained some insight on human behaviour
A melodrama about the Irish-English discourse. But because producers try go so hard on manipulating the audience and trying to exploit personal insecurities of particular audience members in their favour with the mechanizations of how it's filmed, I have to give it a 3 for malice, (it is definitely not a biopic, but it is the beginning of deeper understanding) using cultural music or pop music of that time means nothing to mature audiences who have lived through similar discourses/experiences like that with their eyes open and understand the depth of selfishness involved in that kind of behaviour, that younger or more vulnerable audiences not comprehend and not be sharp enough to not be taken by. The protagonist by the end comes off as insincere and deluded at that point (like a Scarface or Macbeth tragedy; the protagonist has a strong personality that initially attracts but that attraction quickly disappears as you realize there is no character behind the personality) and I can understand why things had to turn out the way it turned out practically and maturely speaking.
Godfather of Harlem (2019)
Very Entertaining.
THE MYTH OF BUMPY JOHNSON!!! Interesting rap music. Captivating violence. Reimagined plot. Beautiful women. Some comedy. Some tragedy. Some cunning melodrama to maintain my interest in between, all the formers listed. Great victim story overall. And the mythology surrounding Bumpy Johnson is craftily protected to inspire great psychopaths in the future who believe they are good. Great way to kill an hour. It felt like I travelling into the future 1 hour meaning there was no painful sensation of waiting for an hour. I was waiting for my wife to get ready for us to go to dinner and decided to throw this show on in the meanwhile because I need to dull the suffering of waiting for someone to get ready. Effective hack for waiting. This show should be made into a broadway.
