Anna and the Apocalypse (2017)
It wasn't the worst. It's literally a zombie musical.
I hate musicals so I won't be commenting on that part although the songs were ok and the singing wasn't bad as a side note. As a zombie movie, it's a fun aspect with thrown in comedy though on the very low side of zombie films. It has a good story line. I just can't like it Bc it's just not a zombie movie and I hate musicals. I was screaming at the tv for a better part of the movie Bc the characters just stood there while zombies were literally behind them. So, I'm neither mad nor happy I watched it. I've seen worse. If your bored and want to just see it go for it, if your wanting a musical, cool, if your wanting zombies...eh
Antebellum (2020)
Good.. but pay attention
I was confused almost the entire movie but that's what some good movies do. They leave you in the dark until you have that ah-ha moment. I actually re-winded it once Bc I thought my DVD player skipped a scene. Most movies are soo predictable, this one had me guessing for good portion of the movie until a flashback scene when it occurred to me where it was headed.. and boy was I shocked and everything made sense. I enjoyed it and I'm sure if you like trying to figure out what happens before it does then I'm sure you'll enjoy putting the pieces together. The only thing I'm not truly satisfied with is like the VERY end it was all good finding out exactly where she was like I was shocked she was so close to actually people but her just ... riding in.. no hey cops this is what happened , no family reunion, no satisfaction of watching people be handcuffed. I just wished the ending was a little more.
Dead Rising: Endgame (2016)
More of an action movie until the end..
Coming straight from the previous movie, I would say this too isn't a bad movie. However, as a zombie movie I didn't get that feeling really. I'd say it's more just a nice action movie. So, as I assumed the movie would pick up where the last one left off , somethings up with the trackers they're putting in people. You don't really start to see zombie action until about 40 minutes in. BUT something they did in this movie that was pretty cool is they made some of the zombies faster and a little scarier especially with the deep growl-thing. There is a huge fight scene 1vs horde and I thought it was pretty unique. The whole bases of dead rising is use what you can as a weapon, and I felt this scene he used literally anything he could grab. Overall, I'm happy that I watched both movies. However, I am upset they left the ended wide open. It's been since like 2016 they could have made another installment. They left so many unanswered questions. One thing they should have done was at least end on a like panning out of the story being covered about that woman in charge of the big company. And we don't even know what happens to the general. So that sucks. But it's a good action movie.
Dead Rising: Watchtower (2015)
Not bad for an action movie
It wasn't a bad zombie movie, it wasn't a bad movie in general. As I have played dead rising the game, going in I knew sorta what to expect. However, the made weapons kinda looked unrealistic. I believe there was a saw and the other side was a sledge hammer?? Like I said it would be hard to actually keep switching which side your holding. The constant news cast with the frank west (from the game) was a bit like a filler, he kept rambling and hitting in the news anchor and I'm just not sure why they kept circling back to them in the studio just having a conversation. Anyway, I've watched some movies where I'm just begging to be over this one wasn't one of them it's a good movie not great but good and as soon as I got done with this one I went and watched the sequel to this movie.
Escaping the Dead (2017)
How does this have a 5.6?!?!
I have NEVER fast forwarded through a zombie movie and I've seen ALOT of good and bad. This movie is not even 1 star. The start was slow, the zombies makeup was horrible, they didn't stick to one thing in some
Scenes the zombies walk in Others they can run, the sounds of everything are off, the acting is horrible, the fight scenes are worse. He's literally running around the city majority of the movie except the last 20 minutes just running around "fighting" zombies. Oh and their get away vehicle to go god knows where is a TRACTOR! An old open slow tractor...this isn't even b-rated.. don't waste your time!
#Saraitda (2020)
I am pleasantly surprised.
I was very skeptical going into this movie however, it did turn out to be one worth watching. I would at least top 10. I will say it went a smidge downhill somewhere in the middle but came back. The main guy kinda makes me mad with some of the things he does, granted he's doing the best he can and hasn't probably watch a million zombie movies but dude.. it's a given.. stay quite... anyway, It's not one where you just want to finish just to say you watch it it's not that dreadful. It's pretty good I personally have problems with it Bc some of the things he does irks me but that's just me. So go watch it you shouldn't be sorry you did it's not one of those b rated ones.
Busanhaeng (2016)
One of my favorites!! Won't be disappointed
I'm always skeptical going into new zombie movies Bc good ones just are made anymore most are B rated and the filming sucks. THIS MOVIE IS GREAT. Hollywood needs to take some tips for these people. They stayed within realm of what we know while introducing their own spin on certain zombie traits. Its has that edge of the seat, hold your breathe type scenes. It's got characters you can like and ones your screaming to kill already. Adding that it's on a train gives it a more be careful, watch where you go factor. I didn't quite catch how it started I'll have to rewatch to see if I missed something. For me it's a sold 9.5, one of my new favorites on up there with dawn of the dead (04), and this is just a me thing but it lost .5 Bc I wasn't as happy with the ending as I wanted to be but they brought it together wonderfully and respect their writing. So, go watch it!
Les affamés (2017)
Well, that's new... but horrible ending
So, this isn't your classic zombie movie at all. They did a good job bringing their own twist to things. However, I wasn't a fan. So, for starters.. the zombies set traps to lure in people and they can laugh?? Second, if you've seen the cell with John in it , it gave me that kinda vibe at points.. the zombies would stack useless house hold items and just stand there facing them. Overall, movie was... ok wasn't anything I'd put in an article for best zombie films. The ending... gets a little confusing and I guess morbid.. like this is the second movie I've seen that kills off everyone and leaves a child about 7 to fend for themselves... granted, the kid happens to not run into anymore zombies magically after everyone dies?? But really like I know most zombie movies don't even touch on killing or turning a kid, but to not have one adult to be with the kid until the end and ride into the sunset?? Anyway, I just watched it to check it off my list it's not a top 10 or anything but if you're trying to watch every zombie movie.. go for it
La nuit a dévoré le monde (2018)
If your goal is to watch every zombie movie there is...
I've seen just about all the good zombie movies and for reference my top ones are dawn of the dead (2004), train to busan, etc. This movie had a good start and I can see the main guys mind definitely beginning to slip. However, basing it solely on like zombie survival 101, this guy started out good and just went downhill. The movie starts getting aggravating as yes, he's trying to stay in the apartment and not die, however like I said he does it wrong and to the point of aggravation. He constantly is loud, drawing in more zombies (like dude stop banging on the drums), listening to music with head phones on(first of all dude you need to hear if something happen), doesn't board up anything. My biggest pet peeve is the ending.. he burns his tapes(why, what's the point), sets a locked zombie free, fire alarm starts and the dude just stands there watching zombies break in.. like MOVE. And on top of that ALL the bags he just packed didn't think to grab them before he flung himself off the roof and give himself a concussion. Anyway, it was ok. Like I said if your just trying to watch all the zombie movies..go for it.
