Smokin' Aces (2006)
8/10
I actually really liked this movie.
4 February 2007
I'm not sure why this movie got bad reviews. I went into the movie having only seen the trailer, but not realizing that it hadn't received much positive attention by the critics. When I came out, I actually found that I liked the movie very much. It had an original plot, a dark sense of humor, and was definitely, above all, entertaining. It also had a very well-rounded cast with a lot of familiar faces. Each character, and yes, even Ben Affleck, was interesting. I suppose if you're looking for a movie to shed light on man's inner search for meaning, or some other rhetorical quest like that, this movie might not be for you. However, if you want to be entertained and feel like you had a sincerely good time at the movies, then check this one out.

Epic Movie (2007)
1/10
This movie is seriously stupid.
26 January 2007
I went into this hoping to see something along the lines of the "Scary Movie" series, i.e. clever jokes about some familiar films. Unfortunately, all I got was an hour and a half of stupidity. When I say stupidity I don't mean the good kind where you can laugh because it's so stupid. This movie is SO stupid that laughing is an impossibility. Instead you just think, ummm...did I really pay to watch this? The movie had no plot, no characters, nothing. All it was were a couple ripped off scenes from different films intermixed with music videos that I guess were supposed to be sexy because they had almost naked women in them. That, seriously, is the whole movie. If you're thinking about going to see this movie, please don't. Learn from my mistake and spend your money on something else...or better yet, watch the preview and at the most wait for the movie on Netflix.

Willow (1988)
Willow the Great!
23 September 2001
Everyone I know loves this movie! It is an exceptional classic that continues to captivate audiences 10 years after being released. With these kind of stats, my mind fails to register how anyone could say this story is bad or just a ploy by George Lucas to put another notch in his fantasy movie belt. Were we watching the same movie? The acting is great...perfect for the type of this type of film. And the special affects, though only slightly outdated, are still impressive. "Willow" is definately a cult classic and one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen.

Great! What are you all talking about?
15 August 2001
I'm wondering if everyone who reviewed this was watching the same film that I've seen because there is no way this movie can "endanger your mental growth." This movie is great! It's got a funny script and an interesting storyline...I don't know if people were expecting some kind of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" challenger, but you all need to see this movie for what it is...somehow I doubt it was meant to deliver some deep message about society or help you delve into your soul...it's a comedy that is meant to entertain! Lighten up, people....

Don't show this to kids!!
30 July 2001
I saw this movie for the first time when I was 8 and, to put my response in a few words, it scarred me for quite some time. The images presented in this film, particularly those dealing with mirrors, are not suitable for children, and can even be creepy for adults. My advice after having seen this film, and been sincerely freaked out by it, many a time is to not watch it unless you want to experience a scary feeling for at least an hour afterwards.
