Män som hatar kvinnor (2009)
Movie: good. Book: Unbelievable.
This was a good movie, very watchable and interesting. But the book was unbelievable and a lot is left out (probably out of necessity because there are just so many nuances/plot layers in the book).
The acting was very good - the lead actress was really perfect for the role.
While there were some brutal scenes, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be as I can be on the squeamish side.
I highly recommend this movie, and the book is among the best I've ever read. I wish I could take a week off to read the next two books! Go read it now. THEN see it.
Dexter: Dexter (2006)
Great show: one of the best shows I've ever seen
This is a great show. I am not a big fan of serial killer or horror films, but this is so well written and acted I am totally hooked. Michael C. Hall is fantastic.
I love that they get into Dexter's past and help you understand why he kills only those that have committed heinous acts. American Psycho was also a great flick, but this to me is actually a lot more interesting, particularly because in the course of the series he has a relationship with a woman, and also because of the multitude of different set-ups and story lines the movie contains...
Michael C. Hall is quickly becoming one of my favorite contemporary actors.
The music is also fantastic, and considering the content of the show, it's actually not terribly gory, which I'm very happy about as well.
