Family Guy: Baking Sad (2023)
Return to the classic
This is it. This is the Famoly Guy that we all used to love but the writers somehow forgot what the show was supposed to be. There's no doubt that this was the funniest episode, this season. Maybe even the last few seasons. I really hope this wasn't luck and the show returns to this formula. Lately, each episode will have one moment that makes you chuckle and nothing more. The characters have completely fallen off the rails. In this episode, the laughs never stop and the characters actually feel like their counterparts from earlier seasons. It is definitely worth watching for fans of the series that have felt the show is lacking. You will not be disappointed.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Subspace Rhapsody (2023)
Talk about divisive!
It seems this episode REALLY broke things down to "love it or hate it". Personally, I loved it. Having my own experience with the effects of music on brain injuries, I thought it was perfect. It absolutely nailed how music and song is a way in which people are far more likely to express truths that they otherwise never would. The music was also great.
The only thing I don't understand are the people who say this is a new "low" for Star Trek. It was a very well directed/acted episode. It had great music. It had a logical story that made perfect sense. It was a lot of fun! It certainly didn't have the characters suddenly unable to lie, switch species, or just turn into salamanders... there are far worse episodes of Star Trek.
I can only assume the people that rushed to it to give it a rating of "1" never grew up, with the original series, and never had any fun whenever TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, or ENT did their fun episodes. They are all people that expect Star Trek to be full of violence and swearing.
Sorry Kiddos, your modern Star Trek is not real Star Trek. This show is.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
Someone needs to be fired
This could have been Disney's best film. Whomever decided that the gargoyles were necessary need to know that they completely destroyed the movie. They made, what would be an amazing movie, almost unwatchable. They really interrupt the movie and make something that could be an amazing musical... an annoying Looney Tuney's cartoon. The goat is part of this as well. DISNEY has been making all of these remakes and done well but mostly failed... however this is one rhay I would LOVE to see remade, if they could remove the gargoyles and the goat. Remember, to whomever thought they were needed, you ruined the movie. It was the worst decision you have ever made. I really hope you were fired.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The Elysian Kingdom (2022)
Pure Star Trek
To anyone reading this, and hasn't watched the episode, people are rating it so low because they do not know what Star Trek is and the cannot handle anything that makes them think or emotional.
The costumes are beautiful, the acting wonderful, the music fantastic... it took the typical "fun" Star Trek episode and elevated it to something with so much meaning. It was purely about the characters.
Most of the negative reviewers likely didn't see the end.
10/10.
Family Guy: Family Gay (2009)
Favourite episode
No, you are not required to hate this episode if you are gay. I am gay and it is my favourite episode, as well as my husband's. Sometimes something makes you laugh and it is just okay. Go for it! Your sense of humor does not represent the type of person you are or who you are inside.
Also Stewie is just amazing in this episode. I had to add that.
Star Trek: Prodigy: Kobayashi (2022)
Finally!
Star Trek has been dead since the early 2000's. This episode is a return for REAL fans and proof that Star Trek CAN return. The people who made this were clearly true fans of Star Trek, at its prime, and it shows.
Excellent work.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
Woody's Story. Nobody else's.
Woody, in Toy Story: "It doesn't matter how much we're played with!"
... until it does, in Toy Story 4. A movie about selfishness. People you love will always give up on you, eventually. Whatever their claims, even as talking toys, they eventually will act to serve only themselves. Thanks for the reminder, PIXAR.
All the beloved characters are side-characters to one's that don't matter. This is Woody's movie. Nobody else's.
Oh and I'm sure that antique shop was hard to create but eventually the reasons for "We got to go back to that shop!" really wear thin.
Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Prefect Trek.
This movie is bang-on, for Star Trek. There are lovers of the ridiculous serious from the 80's who do not appreciate that Star Trek was about love, fighting, and sex with green aliens. JJ gets it.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Once More, with Feeling (2001)
Pure genius
This is likely the highest point of the series. I wish there were more like it.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation: Poisoned Chalice (2021)
Perfect
This is exactly what a true fan would want. Keep them coming!
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
Wow!
Such great writing, acting, and wonderful animation. It was hard to believe this was based on a children's property. Hope to get more!
The Mask (1994)
Where is the humor?
This movie makes such a desperate attempt at being funny but it will fail to make anybody, with half a brain, laugh. It is painful to sit through.
Love, Death & Robots: Suits (2019)
A confusing mess
Honestly, I couldn't pay attention to the story because the animation quality swings from great to unbearable, constantly! Pick a frame rate, and stick to it.
Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs (2019)
Finally someone gets it!
Yes! Fat women are so disgusting! Someone finally had the balls to stand up and say "If you are a woman and are overweight, you have no worth!" I teared up from happiness.
Star Trek: Voyager: Scorpion, Part II (1997)
Star Trek at its best.
This episode introduced the character of Seven of Nine. To me, she is the best thing that Star Trek has ever done. I found myself relating to her again, and again, and again. The character is brilliantly written and acted and, for me, is where Voyager begins.
