Tim Robbins best movie in years
15 August 2002
A movie about Lila (Patricia Arquette), a young woman with exessive body hair, who decides to live her life in the wild. Lila writes many succesfull books and enjoys her life as one with nature very much, but the longing for love makes her go back to the civilisation. There she tries to fit in by getting rid of all her hair and going out with a man, Dr Nathan (Tim Robbins). He is trying to teach table manners to mice, and even though this seems unatural and wrong to Lila, she countinues to date him.

During a walk in the woods the cuople discover an ape man, who has been living totally cut of from civilsation. Nathan decides to teach the ape man manners, which Lila finds horrible but she doesn't say anything about it. Dr Nathan and his french assistant Gabrielle names the ape man Puff, after Gabrielle's puppy dog she had as a child. Soon sparks fly, and Nathan and Gabrielle start an affair...

This movie is definatly worth seing at least once (if not twice) 'cause it's so funny and charming. It has some real great jokes, and it's always nice to Tim Robbins in a "cute" part. A great script, great actors and yet it wasn't such a big success. I blame the PR!

About Next door neighboor terrorism
15 August 2002
A man (Jeff Bridges) with neighbours (Tim Robbins & Joan Cusack) that seem completly normal. Yet he will later find, they arn't.

This movie had me biting my nails during some moments, but actually I had a hard time finding it realistic. Jeff Bridges gives an excellent preformance, especially after he starts to suspect that his neighbours might not be what they say they are. It has some very exciting bits, but overall I found it to be kind of boring. Tim Robbins is excellaent, as usual, but I didn't really believe him as an "evil" person. See only if there's nothing else on TV. I'm a huge Tim Robbins fan, and yet I can't bring myself to see this one a third time.

Amazing
15 August 2002
Andy Dufrense (Tim Robbins) is found guilty of murdering his wife, and sentenced to Shawshank for life. He's innocent, but unable to clear his name. So off he goes, to one of the most horrible prisons in the country. At first the other inmates don't show him any respect, as they think he's just a snob. But he manages to get one friend, Red (Morgan Freeman), who he become very close to. During his time in prison he finds different ways of spending his time, such as building a library, helping the guards with their tax reports and putting up posters of pretty girls on his cell wall...

Tim Robbins preformance in this movie was the best I've ever seen. I saw this movie for the first time when I was 13, and at the time I had no clue of who he was or when this movie was made, but after seeing it I decided to become an actress. Later I found out he was Tim Robbins and that the movie weren't made in the 60's (as I thought...). I guess that was when my admiration for Tim Robbins began. Today I have seen alot more of his work and still believe he's my hero as much as I did that day when I first saw "The Shawshank Redemption".

All the other actors were also really great, and the script is amazing. The scenes are amazing. Everything about this movie is amazing. You can see it over and over again, and still be amazed everytime. This is one of those movies you have to see at least once a year. Just to experience how truly amazing it is.

It really did surprise me
5 January 2002
The story of a young computer geek named Milo (Ryan Phillipe) who is torn between working with his best friend or making it big, way big. He is offered a hot shot job to finish an invanetion called Synapse for Nurv by billionare Gary Winston (Tim Robbins). He diecides to take the job and moves to Portland with his girlfriend Alice. At Nurv he meets alot of people who are just like him, geeks, and one of them are good looking Lisa (Rachael Leigh Cook). Milo who is a genius, gets Gary as his councelour and they are very simliar to each other. He starts to suspect that everything isn't quite alright when Gary starts giving him reslutions without telling the source. And when his bestfriend is killed, Milo knows he has to do something. A very wellwritten story about doing the right thing, but also about that things are worth a second look.

Tim Robbins' acting is, as always, very good. He uses the frase "surpise me!" in so many ways, that you can imagine he had alot of fun filming this movie. Ryan Phillipe stays pretty low with his acting, but on the other hand that is what this movie needs. An overacting leading man can often ruin the whole story. And honors to Rachael Leigh Cook, the future really belongs to her. She might not be as much of an actress as she is a star.

Holly Hunter rocks in red
28 December 2001
Holly Hunter plays Carnelle, a small town girl with average looks who wants to be Miss Firecracker. The title that her older cousin (which she grew up with) already won years ago. Her cousin Elain does not think that this is the best idea, but when Carnelle asks to borrow her red dress she says yes. Even though she's not going to lend her it anyway. Her other cousin Delmount (Tim Robbins) is a bit wierd, but handsome and wanted by most of the towns women. No one really thinks she can make it, but she's got a suprise for all of them... Holly Hunter is perfect for this role, with her cute smile and karisma. Tim Robbins, who has great talent as seen in his later work, does his job as an actor. Nothing more. It's a cute and warming movie. But that's it.

8 August 2001
When I first saw this movie I was really young, but the story of Almasy and Mrs Cliften still apealed to me. Today I have seen it over five times, mostly becuase the cutest man alive, Colin Firth, stars as Mr Clifton. (not Mr Darcy this time, though)
