Elf (2003)

One of the most annoying films I've ever seen
8 December 2021
Let me first off say that I don't like Will Ferrell. He's been in good movies but always playing the same character. This is definitely in his top 3 most annoying characters, all Buddy does in this film is scream and mope around. He's not like able at all. Every other character is forgettable, cookie cutter, and two dimensional. Everything about this film looks either fake or cheap, to me that sort of thing worked for the scenes in the North Pole but everything else just felt fake. And the scenes that didn't were over-exposed and bland in their cinematography. On a critical level this film is boring, unoriginal, and annoying. But I also base how much I like a film based off of my enjoyment. And this movie wasn't terrible to watch the first time, but when I was forced to four more times, my enjoyment was at zero. Plus, I just don't like Will Ferrell, I know people do, and he's good in films like Anchorman, and some of his stuff on SNL is funny. But here it's about as annoying as some of the modern SNL skits. There's no harm in watching the movie for the first or second time. But I would not recommend anyone watching this anymore than two. Go watch Home Alone, A Christmas Story, or A Charlie Brown Christmas instead, they have much more rewatch value.

My Suicide (2009)

Great Indie film

I like this movie's unique style, my only problem with it was the fact that I found no reason there needed to be shots filmed by an actual cameraman. The acting is great from these otherwise unknown actors and it has great themes tackled very sensitively. It's also got some funny and well-executed reference humor that not many films like this do well. Very well-made a unique film that is recommended, but I wouldn't watch it beyond a second time.

He's All That (2021)

Never had an experience like this before

I had never laughed so hard. Genuinely hilarious is every regard. The acting is just awful. There are a few performances that are bearable, but don't save the movie at all. There is no style, aside from the signature style of absolutely horrific editing. The soundtrack sucks except for one song. What made this movie unforgettable for me was how funny it was. The.....everything, mainly the writing and acting, was the funniest stuff I've ever seen. I had an absolute BLAST. It is a miracle that something can fail so hard in literally EVERY aspect. If you like bad movies like I do, you will enjoy it a lot. Also, I'm 99% sure they made a Scream reference so yeah. Take that for what you will.

Corporate garbage

You've seen this movie before. An NPC in a video games breaks out of his false reality. It's the matrix if some Disney executive saw ready player one and decided to make it as safe as possible. There is not a single unique aspect about this. It is VERY boring. Ryan Reynolds sucks and is only there for recognition. The only decent actors is Joe Keery and Taika Watiti. Because those are the only two actors that know that kind of movie they're in. There is no style and the CGI is horrendous. But hey, it's made money, so naturally Disney is going to buy it out and make a sequel.
