Very spectacular and fresh potrayal of the universal themes of love, longing, desire , pain and sorrow!!!
10 December 2021
"Call Me by Your Name" by Luca Guadagnino is based on the novel of the aforementioned name by André Aciman. This movie feels more of a poetry to love as it captures the raw feelings of the two characters Elio and Oliver with great magnificence. The story which is being told to us feels so real as if it is actually happening infront of our eyes. The background noise sits in quite well and makes us feel like we are experiencing it too. It is a heartfelt coming of age movie about two men who fall in love during a summer in Italy, during the times when homosexuality was stigmatized. Luca Guadagnino very tastefully capture the essence of love, longing and desire and the pain and sorrow that gets associated with that. He spectacularly shows us the pure, akward yet intrensic moments of a budding relationship and the passion of new love with the sense of freshness. He tells us a story about love which must have been felt by many people over the course of their lifes but is capable of encapsulating it with artistic visuals and great acting by Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer. The most fascinating thing about the movie is how Luca uses his tools of symbolisms and cinematography to depict what the characters felt on the insides. The track "Mystery of Love" by Sufjan Stevens - beautifully captures the heart of their relationship and makes me wish for a love like that.

Everything about the movie is so beautiful sometimes words fall short to describe something so immensely beautiful. Timothée Chalamet's acting is so iconic in this movie that I totally became a fan of him instantly. He made me feel the full spectrum of my emotions in 2 hrs 12 mins. The very last scene even after being so static in nature is one of my favourite as it shows the magnificence of Chalamet's acting. I stan Timothée Chalamet!!!! The climax is just everything ufff.

I just wish I could forget that I ever watched this movie and rewatch it for the first time again for the immersive experience. It is surely one of my favourite movies and I won't mind watching it again and again.

Spencer (2021)

Captivating performance by Kristen. A well crafted tragic tale beyond glitters and glamour.
27 November 2021
"Spencer" by Pablo Larrain "is a fable from a true tragedy". It is not a biopic about Lady D but it is a narrative which tells us about the fragile and heartbreaking period of time Lady Diana experienced.

It successfully shows us how psychologically scarred a person can get after being in an all consuming, damaged relationship with no love in it. It also shows us how different she wanted her life to be and how she didn't fit in. The dissonance among the musical notes is symbolic to the turbulence in the character's life. The parallels that have been created in this storyline is a real piece of art. Kristen Stewart is successful in bringing Lady D back to life in this 1 hr 51 mins movie. Her captivating performance captures the charm as well as the unfiltered joy and fragility that Lady D possessed (during that phase). Kristen, very beautifully captures the whirlpool of thoughts with her tools of expression and acting and made me tear up and have goosebumps. Although, it is a fictionalized body of work, it is trimuphant in portraying the feeling of discomfort, vulnerability, lonliness, crave for love and freedom the Lady might have experienced during the last phase of her life.

I really love the climax where she breaks herself free from the shackles of a certain way of living and sufferance and embraces freedom and chooses herself. The ending is really empowering. It acts as an alternate reality to the actual events that took place in history.

This is not a movie that caters to all kind of audience, it is a slow paced tragic piece of art painted very beautifully, which might not be appreciated by every person.

Overall, it was a chilling experience to watch something so colossaly iconic.

The Guilty (2021)

Jake Gyllenhaal shines, chilling background track, a different kind of movie
29 September 2021
To be able to think, that a drama/thriller could be made without fascinating visuals, is just an out of the box concept. "The Guilty" is a remake of the Danish film "Den skyldige". I have not watched the original movie, regardless of that, I found this version quite intruiging. Jake Gyllenhaal's one man show for me, is a hit. It was a treat to watch Jake push his limits onto a different level. Even though we are not able to see what is actually happening outside in real time, we could closely feel the tension in the room. The narrative has given the audience a scope to imagine the situation and series of events that are taking place outside the room via the theatricality or (you could say) dramatic act that Jake puts up. As the protagonist of the story goes through the turn of events, he starts revaluating his position in life and starts seeing things in different light and redeems himself from his past tendencies.

Schitt's Creek (2015–2020)
10/10
Great show, great writing and great characters. Each and everyone on the show will leave a mark on your heart.

Just now, I completed the last season of Schitt's Creek. I loved the entire premise of the show. Honestly, I did not plan to watch the entire show, but I ended up binge-watching it. This show is like great wine, as it got more new seasons, it became bigger and better.

The stories were told in a very natural and promising way. Dan Levy and his team really did a great job while writing material for the show as every twist and every little turn in the story seems something so realistic, so funny and so relatable at times.

Each and every character brought something very unique onto the plate. As the plot started building up, we could see the characters evolving. I really loved David and Stevie's friendship. I adored Patrick and David's relationship. I genuinely loved the way Alexis grew as a person. I loved Karen Robinson's performance so much on the show. Eugene was too cute as always. Catherine became a fashion icon for so many people. She was phenomenal.

This show is all about love and family. It tells us that we don't need a lot to feel content. This show has made me laugh, made me cry and made me feel that there are still good people around us. This show is very versatile when it comes to outfits and Moira's wigs.

Stellar performance by (Darren Criss)
5 April 2021
Darren Criss's chilling performance as Andrew Cunanan, literally compelled me into writing this review.

The show was directed very tastefully. The narrative was strong it showed us how Andrew Cunanan became a spree killer. It also showed us what was he before attempting those murders.

Darren Criss's portrayal of Andrew Cunanan was wholesome, as he was very successful in showing us the different multitudes of the serial killers character. It was a chilling performance and gave me nightmares too. I had been his fan since I watched 'Glee' and 'The Hedwig and the Angry Inch' .I could say that, this was a very different kind of genre he got into and he totally nailed it.

The other caste members where also amazing. Penelope as Donatella and Edgar as Gianni absolutely looked phenomenal.

Royalties (2020)

I wanted to see more of it but the format caused a probable hinderance.

In the show we meet two aspiring songwriters Sara and Pierce who are incredibly talented. We get to be a part of their amazing songwriting journey. We get to see their amazing dynamic. I loved the punch lines, its really well written. I love the choice of the storyline cause most of the audiences don't know how much work and how many writers and song producers are involved in making a BIG HIT. Shoutout to the songwriting community.

I just wish the show had a little longer format. I just wanted to see more of it. Lastly ,(as usual) I loved DARREN CRISS, JOHN STAMOS and KETHER DONOHUE's performance particularly. I just want to say it although this sounds quite repetitive , DARREN CRISS as PIERCE, is all that we wanted to see but never knew.
