Wild Mountain Thyme (2020)
Oh the rain washes me away...
I live in a drought state and I watch this movie every year because it makes me melancholy for rain. The dialogue is like figure eights and the love story is enjoyable. I love the theme song as well. I don't have any idea how accurate this movie is with regards to the Irish but it's thoroughly enjoyable as a dumb American. Christopher Walken is a great actor, his accent not the greatest or even Irish for that matter. Did not see the twist ending nor do I understand it, however there is something very lovable about this film and leaves me with a feeling of jubilation. Recommend this to anyone living in the west that remembers when we had rain in the 90's.
Forever and a Day (1943)
It's all in the title 🙄
This movie takes forever and a day to watch... at least it feels that way. By the end I didn't know who was who and what was what. And I didn't care.
The synopsis was intriguing and the storyline had lots of potential. But it ended up just being a boring history of a house and one flirty maid after another.
The Red Shoes (1948)
So horribly boring
The first hour and a half you'll just wait for something to happen. Like what is the point of this movie? The bad guy hasn't really done anything that bad, and the movie is more than halfway over. The two who are supposed to be in love- also nothing has happened and it's more than half over. Suddenly someone announces they are in love- there is no build up to their "love" they just suddenly are. I didn't even want to finish it. No idea how this had an 8.1 overall. Two Thumbs down.
