A hidden gem
4 December 2021
I discovered this series here, and was pleasantly surprised. Sure it has aged a little, as a 90s series, but the script is both original and well-written, the actors are pretty good, and the direction efficient. Kept me hooked from start to end.

A despicable, hateful series meant to insult those who love Christmas
4 December 2021
There was a time when Christmas movies would seek what is good and beautiful in all men, elevate our spirit for the holidays, but now it's all about spitting on the sacred, soiling the pure, as perverted minds are in command of the studios and have replaced talent by nepotism.

Do yourself a favor and watch the classics instead of this anti-christmas propaganda.

Solid animation movie
24 June 2021
Like for the first one, I don't think the score reflects the quality of the movie. It may not equal the best Pixar movies, but the story is more well-written than many animated blockbusters from the big studios.

The animation is pretty descent and the characters well-developed. I think more people should give it a try, even adult. I enjoyed both movies.

Great potential, ridiculous writing
21 June 2021
The beginning is really good, copying the formula and style of "Trapped" and other Icelandic production. The direction, photography, actors and premises are all great.

Unfortunately, once the "fantastic" element comes in, the writing gets ridiculous. The reactions of the characters make no sense and are not natural, and there are gigantic plotholes all over the place. Half of the problems and questions that occupy the whole season could be solved with a few DNA tests, phone calls, or simply a conversation. This is the worst writing I've seen in an Icelandic series. The ending is especially ridiculous.

Furthermore, since it's Netflix, they couldn't help to spit on Christianity as usual...

Could easily have been a great series with a little effort on the writing. Won't be waiting for season 2.

An interesting and original Irish language movie
31 May 2021
Most Irish language movies deal either with traditional themes or political ones, which is fine and very understandable, but this one chose a more particular style and storytelling.

Going from places to places, in Ireland and England, with a flow of people and locations that resemble a Terry Gillian movie, the story slowly unfolds, sometimes confusing and perplexing, at others exiting and humorous. I don't think it will fit everyone's taste. I'm not really sure I understood the ending, and maybe it's on purpose, but it still was worth the watch, especially if you appreciate the Irish language.
