It was alright
1 December 2023
This is my introduction to the franchise, I've heard about both the movie and the comics being really good so I gave this a chance.

It was...alright? Only 8 episodes, it doesn't really drag for long but it wasn't anything special; the animation was great but the story was pretty meh, I really liked the first and last 2 episodes, which means that pretty much everything that had Ramona as the protagonist was average at best. I liked cool, non-stereotypical female characters and Ramona is that but she's just not that interesting as an MC. Finding out that this isn't a direct adaptation makes everything make sense, this was definitely something that was created for the old fans. She has a past, a IDGAF attitude and a cool design which on paper sounds good but just isn't as entertaining as Scott which is your average lovable idiot and watching him try his best is what makes the show shine.

I can now see why fans would be upset at the misguided promotion that led them to believe the show would be an adaptation of the original. Although I'm not so sure I'd enjoy it more if they had adapted the original story, the evil exes were just not entertaining to watch either, most of them were kind of cringe, and not fun cringe, just sad corny cringe. I think it'd been better if it had been Ramona who had disappeared or something, I don't know, I wasn't expecting anything and was sure not amazed.

Couldn't get worse
12 August 2023
The cinematography, CGI, and most of the acting in this amateur project aren't totally bad, but It's all over the place, and the pacing doesn't help at all. I mean, I sat through over an hour, and I still couldn't figure out where the heck it was heading. It wasted so much time on those pointless flashbacks and cheesy lines. Plus, there's barely any fight scenes, except for this quick two-minute bit where Spider-Man's just taking on some generic bad guys and Shocker. Just go rewatch any other Spider-Man movie; that'd be a better use of your time. I kept an open mind, even after hearing all the stuff about the people behind this, but I honestly ended up wasted my time. It's not a good Spider-Man movie or a good movie at all. Nothing really makes this one stand out; so why do I, or anyone for that matter, have to sit through two hours of just talking? Can't believe they used all that donation money for this garbage.

Ruins everything about the original story.

Warning: Spoilers
When I talk about the original story, I mean the manga. I never really got into the anime because it toned things down and changed important parts of the story. It felt like they were aiming it more at younger fans. I only gave this movie a shot because I heard it followed the manga, but it seemed to contradict it at the same time. My biggest issue wasn't the slow pace or the so-so storyline; I just really disliked the last half-hour of the movie.

In the manga, they make it clear that the role of millennium items ended, as their job was to guide the Pharaoh to the afterlife. So why bring him back just to duel some kid? They treat the afterlife like it's a dimension where Atem is chilling, but in the manga, he's meant to rest in peace, not wait around for Yugi to bring him back. Then there's Kaiba, leaving his world just to have one more duel with Atem. It felt forced, to be honest. In the manga, he accepts that Atem won Battle City, and that's pretty much it. We don't see him again, and I don't think we needed to. They kind of trample on the characters' development, and it's pretty sad.

Even though the original author (may he rest in peace) was involved, they just couldn't capture what made Yu-Gi-Oh! Great. I don't think it was his fault, though. He was basically letting others handle his creation, and it's known that the anime studios sometimes ignored his ideas. If you've read the manga, I'd say skip this one. Maybe it works for anime fans, but I doubt it'll satisfy you.

Liberal Arts (2012)
A bite out of nothing
31 July 2022
I understand and see what was trying to be done here but it just could've been done a lot better. As weird as it'll sound, I feel like this would've worked better as a single season tv show. I don't know I feel like 1:30 hours isn't enough to actually feel satisfied with the story.

Love and Lack of direction

It's hard to tell what this movie is trying to be. Stupidly "funny" or really dramatic, the underdeveloped villain and the quirky moments make this movie just a big scratch on the head. It's not terrible but it just could have been a lot better.

Ms. Marvel (2022)
Sad Cringe
16 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a marvel fanboy, a minority and a teen. Does that mean I like this? Nope.

I'm not even going comment on the visual effects, the acting, the music or any of that. I'm just going to speak on the story and how bad it is.

First of all they tried a little too hard to make this relatable and it turns out it ain't relatable at all, unless you're Pakistani but did you know they don't even have Disney + available in their country? That's crazy, I'm happy for those who feel represented but it's almost like you can't express your thoughts on how annoying their pushing of the culture because people will claim you're just being "discriminatory. The characters aren't consistent, it seems like a different writer wrote them from scratch at the beginning of each episode, the villain(s)... can you even call them that? It feels like they were never a threat to begin with, their deaths are so stupid and they basically tried to pull a Doc Ock at the end of SM2, when that one lady "sacrifices" herself but... is that even a sacrifice when everything is her fault? Were We supposed to feel bad for her? I sure didn't. This feels like a bad Slice Of Life anime with a superhero subplot. I swear this makes me lose hope for the future of the MCU.

I don't think this is Marvel/Disney trying to be "woke", I think that argument is ridiculous. It's just a bad show that was written by people who put culture references first before a good, coherent story. It is just sad, I'm disappointed and Ms. Marvel does not add anything to the MCU except for disgrace. Don't watch this.
