Halloween Ends (2022)
End? I Think Not...
The evil seemed to affect Corey after his interaction with Michael, he sort of became "Michael Lite" making you think Corey was going to carry it on.. until Michael killed him.
But right at the end, Laurie's granddaughter patted her stomach like she was pregnant... meaning Corey got her pregnant. So they left the door open for the offspring to be the next "Michael". The funny thing is, that makes the evil now related to Laurie and the granddaughter. These last 3 movies were supposed to happen right after the 1978 Halloween, which means Laurie was never related to Michael. It wasn't until Halloween II that we learned about her being adopted by the Strodes from the Meyers family after Michael killed his other sister.
I was figuring they weren't going to let the franchise die. "Halloween, the Return of Evil" is already being worked on! It has to, Laurie is still alive!
The Last Days of Billy the Kid (2017)
Just like every other "modern" attempted western.
Along with the crap storyline, high school drama class script, acting??? And historical inaccuracies this waste of film offers little else. Why is there a flood of these basement budget? I cannot believe anyone invests in these things?
Old Henry (2021)
If you know the history...
One of the best modern Westerns I've seen. It has enough historical background on a controversial figure and the events at Ft. Sumner to make this film almost "faction". Some say it didn't happen the accepted way.
Anyway, Tim Nelson's acting and appearance were very convincing. I nearly recognized the historical character by his portrayal of what is known about Henry McCarty before its revealed. The storyline was very good and the quality of the film is miles a head of the junk being marketed as "Westerns" today. I would welcome more movies like this one.
Being the Ricardos (2021)
Typical Biopic
Watched "Being the Ricardos" on Amazon Prime because I grew up in that era and we watched "I Love Lucy". Like all these "factual" biopics, some parts are possibly accurate. Most of us who eventually grew up knew Lucy and Ricky were TV characters and off screen they were real people with real problems and real faults but do we really want to see them? I've seen many biopics of entertainers and for the most part they end up tainting the memory of those people and that of every performance of theirs I watch from then on. Entertainment is supposed to provide an escape and biopics inject someone's idea of "reality" ruining that escape. The entertainer you enjoyed is now that character from the biopic. I don't think I'll bother watching anymore of them.
Once Upon a Time in Tombstone (2020)
Another bad recent Western
Camcorder cinematography, high school drama script, sad acting and sets that aren't anything like Tombstone or Southern Arizona.
Why are all these recent Western so awful? Same bad scripts, same bad acting, same historically incorrect sets. A waste of video.
