Lal Salaam (2024)

Lal Salaam: a great film with a very important social message. I don't know why people are giving such bad reviews about this film.

Pros: Very engaging screenplay, Rajinikanth's character was well written, great performance by Vishnu, Vikranth and Thambi Ramaiah. BGM and songs were good Cons: Cinematography could've been better, Fight scenes could've been better.

I'm so happy that Rajnikanth took this role because the impact was so special when Rajnikanth spoke about "humanity is above religion" It is important to remember that we are all ONE, we're aren't supposed to be separated by Religion/Caste.

Captain Miller (2024)

Surprisingly GOOD!

I had very low expectations on this film because of its dull and dark theme.

Captain Miller, both first half and second half were brilliant, it had a lot of interesting characters throughout the whole film. The plot was very engaging as well. If you like Karnan, you would definitely like Captain Miller.

Had low expectations of the songs and bgm as well but GV Prakash gave his best.

Everyone acted well in the film.

Overall a very engaging film with great cast and mass soundtrack, highly recommend if you're a Dhanush fan.

Ayalaan (2024)

VFX was a step above Shankar's 2.0 but....

I don't know why but whenever a good director join hands with a big actor he somehow looses track on his project.

Ravikumar's previous project Indru Netru Naalai is one of the best Sci-Fi time travel film in Tamil Cinema. The film had so much content and an engaging plot.

Ayalaan, extraordinary VFX. Congratulations to the whole team because they've brought Kollywood to the next level in terms of VFX only not the film.

First half was good but due to lack of content second half was poorly executed.

Music was okay, cinematography was good.

Dear directors , if you don't have any ideas to sneak in second half , please just decrease the film's duration. We as audience are not dumb to watch Sivakarthikeyan fight a robot for 10 minutes and using a balloon to fly to another building.

Film had potential but basic storyline made it ended as an average one time watchable film

6/10 , strictly for kids.

Dunki (2023)

Decent entertainer!

Dunki is a decent entertainer by Rajkumar Hirani Sometimes I felt like Tapsee Pannu is the main lead of this film and Shah Rukh Khan is just there as a supporting role.

It is still a good one time watchable film but if you keep in mind that this is the director who made 3 idiots and Sanju, you might get disappointed because the screenplay felt slow and had no content.

I would say that Dunki is definitely an OTT film, it's not made for theatres which is why it's not collecting as much as Shah Rukh Khan's previous films Pathaan and Jawan. But still it's a good film but just expected more because it's a Rajkumar Hirani's film Overall: 6/10 a good one time watchable entertainer.

Parking (2023)

Interesting plot with a clean screenplay

Movie was written perfectly, I didn't feel like dip throughout the whole film, screenplay focused mainly on the plot and did not have any unnecessary songs or comedy scenes. What a performance from MS Bhaskar and Harish Kalyan. Music was okay wouldn't complain anything about it.

Cinematography was good as well.

Felt like could've changed the heroine for a better reach in terms of promotion.

Overall: Good plot with engaging storyline 8/10.

Leo (III) (2023)

Could've been better!

Leo is Vijay's most hyped film of his career. Unfortunately this movie ended up as a mediocre. Vijay fans would enjoy this film but as someone who've watched Kaithi and Vikram. Leo is not even near those 2 films. This is definitely not a 100% Lokesh film, everyone expected it to be like Vikram, Kaithi but it was actually another Master. I felt like Master was better tbh.

Lokesh wasted so many roles like Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Anurag Kashyap, Mysskin. Their roles had no depth at all like any of his previous film characters like Santhanam, Amar, Anbu had so much depth.

LCU looked forced and unnecessary for the film, this film had nothing to do with LCU since this movie had no reason to be in it.

Flashback was just too short, it had no logic, and the emotional scenes didn't work tbh.

I dont know why directors always do this to Vijay.

When it was Beast we expected a movie like Doctor but he gave a disaster. When we expect something like Vikram , Lokesh gives us an Indian John Wick, WHY?

No matter how many theories or explanation Lokesh gives, the mistakes in Leo can't be undone Just move on.

Leo: 6/10.

Jailer (I) (2023)

Only for Rajni fans

Film was good but it definitely didn't exceed the expectations that it created after releasing Hukum song.

Film's backbone is Anirudh himself.

Jailer Pros: good background score, mass elements for Rajinikanth, good first half, great villain, Rajnikanth's screen presence is incredible, good casting Cons: wasted Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff and Shivaraj's role (very less screen space) looked like they brought the three of them for promoting the film in all languages, average second half, unnecessary hotel scene (felt like it was out of the plot), it was a little lengthy Overall Jailer is a one time watchable film, STRICTLY FOR THALAIVAR FANS! General audience like me might find this movie very mediocre.

Jawan (2023)

A must watch if you're a fan of commercial movies

What a great film with multiple social messages throughout the whole film. Shah Rukh Khan's screen presence was unbelievably classy. Anirudh's background score brought the film to another level.

I felt like the film was a little rushed, everything was pushed quickly especially Nayanthara and SRK's portions (Chaleya). Yes there's definitely a lot of south movies in this film but who cares, it's a commercial masala film, you'd want to enjoy and celebrate watching this one so avoid all negative reviews and bring your family along and enjoy this perfect commercial film in theatres. Atlee has given another blockbuster film for the film industry. I also felt like the climax was too long could've straight away came to the point.

Really was amazed by Atlee's team for giving a Hollywood level Cinematography and action scenes. Overall I enjoyed it very much, 8/10.

Maaveeran (2023)

SK definitely needs a comeback!

SK should realise that he's a big actor right now in Kollywood, Doctor made him look like a big star and a mass commercial hero idk why he still chooses to make a low hyped movies like Don, Prince and now Maaveeran but huge respect for SK for choosing a very different story rather than a basic commercial film. Unfortunately Maaveeran is a mid average film, it has a good first half with a lot of content and it was quite engaging but second half was terrible. BGM was not good enough and the songs just felt empty.

SK should throw away his typical comedy films and start choosing movies with bigger scale. HIS MOVIE SELECTION IS MOVING HIM AWAY FROM BEING THE NEXT SUPERSTAR!

But movie was so much better than Don and Prince I'd give a 6/10, expecting a lot for his upcoming film w Kamal Hassan's production. No hope for Ayaalan too since it's gonna be another small scaled typical SK movie like Maan Karate.

At this point he should know his market value and start making bigger films.

Dhamaka (II) (2022)

You guys enjoy watching a 50 years old molesting a 21 years old girl?

Good if you're a fan of Ravi Teja but the dude lost his respect for legit molesting a 21 y/o girl in this film, if you're his fan please stop him by doing this again!

Let's talk about the film, Dhamaka.

Average illogical film What a silly concept by the director.

Sree Leela, I don't even know why she took this film, I think she's craving for stardom, that's why agreed acting with a 50 y/o man!

No comments about this movie, pure stupidity and overacting throughout the whole film by both hero and heroine. What's happening to Indian cinema, let's stop these dudes from ruining our Industry!!

Overall: 1/10 Molesting a young girl is unacceptable, I know the girl agreed to act with you but you as a big star should've stopped her from being your co-star!

Yashoda (2022)

Good effort and New type of movie for Indian cinema

Yashoda: Korean mix Telugu kinda movie Highly recommended for Samantha fans, good effort by the team but if you're a Korean cinema fan you would know that this movie is a legit copy from all the Korean movies😂.

Good cinematography, BGM, and realistic set.

Good performance by Samantha Ruth Prabhu!

Average entertainer

Sardar by PS Mithran, A good entertainer with a social message.

If you're making a commercial action film, you should understand that MUSIC will be the backbone of the film which will make the audience to enjoy the film.

This film seriously lacks good BGM and Songs!

Though the screenplay and action sequences are good, the BGM and songs are not lifting up the film!

If this film had a solid album and a banger BGM, I can assure you this film would've hit 200 crores!

GV Prakash, I hope you get back on track, Theri was the last good commercial album from you.

PS Mithran, nothing bad in your work but please take extra effort for your future film's songs and BGM!

Overall: 6.5/10.

Vaathi (2023)

Good film by Dhanush!

Nothing to complain, movie is okayish.

Just that I didn't like a few portions was in Telugu, could see the mouth not syncing in Tamil.

Pros: Dhanush's acting, cinematography, good acting by the other actors, good message about caste Cons; this social message about education would not work for this generation especially for 2K kids but it's okay good try! Lengthy screenplay. Music could've been better

A good one by Dhanush, wouldn't complain much but a good one to watch with your family. Kids should watch this one for the message.

Overall: 6/10.

Thunivu (2023)

Way better than Valimai

An average movie with a social message by H Vinoth, i don't know wether this guy is the guy who made Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaram Ondru.

His screenplay used to be very engaging and new to the audience, I wonder what happened to him.

H Vinoth should really quit making commercial films with Ajith Kumar. Their ruining both of their careers!

Yes Thunivu is so much better than Valimai but still it's still not good enough!

Film is very similar to Beast's concept but better.

Film casting should've changed, i don't know why H Vinoth took Pavni, Amir and Ciby in those roles playing as India's most dangerous team! Dangerous team!!!!?Pavni and Amir? Like seriously Thunivu: Pros: terrific BGM work by Ghibran, AK's screen presence, Cinematography Cons: story, weak interval, bad casting, old social message, illogical scenes

Average film again by H Vinoth-AK combo Both should stop making movies together!

AK should select different roles and change his director!

Varisu (2023)

Hoping Thalapathy Vijay chooses a good film after this

Yea yea there's a lot of mass scenes and all for Vijay fans but what in the world is this crap, you take a star like Thalapathy Vijay and make him act in a movie which evolves around a grand house? Movie scale is like 20 centimetres long, there's no villain in this film I don't even know what to say, might only work for Vijay fans and family audience, I am a Vijay fan but theatrical experience was good but as a general audience this movie is a mediocre.

Good background score and songs by Thaman, unnecessary kidnap sequences which god knows why Vamshi added in this film.

Rashmika's role is as usual just for songs.

Overall: 5/10 If tier 2/3 actors acted in this film it would've been acceptable but Vijay is a tier 1 star in the industry how can you make him act in a so small scaled movie. Hope Thalapathy chooses better scripts after this!!

Prince (2022)

Terrible for theatrical release!

Movie should've released on OTT. Film had no hype since the beginning.

Idk why Sivakarthikeyan chose to do this film. To be honest, I didn't like Don, wonder how it collected 125cr.

After Doctor, it was very clear that Sivakarthikeyan had potential to give a solid entertainer without overdoing comedy.

This film is just not up to the level to release in theatres.

Prince had no content, bad album, simple storyline.

People would enjoy this movie if it was telecasted in TV's for free.

Sivakarthikeyan please stop selecting mediocre scripts, you have a big market. Use it properly!

Overall: 4/10 boring!

Love Today (2022)

Great Commercial Entertainer for 2K Kids!

Love Today is an example of if the film is good it can gain good support from public. It's definitely one of the best commercial entertainer of 2022. Movie is filled with good content. Remarkable screenplay and duration.

At first I thought why would this guy wanna act all of a sudden, but after watching this film I realised that no one else could do this role since Kollywood doesn't have young heroes to represent this kinda roles. Dhanush would suit for this film but he's too big for the role since he's a big star now.

Great performance by Pradeep and Ivanna, good music by U1, GREAT cinematography.

Overall: a great commercial entertainer with a social message.

8/10 Do not miss this one in theatres!

Smile (V) (2022)

GOOOOOOD

Been waiting for a good horror film and finally Smile exceeded my expectations. Good story with great jumpscares! Duration was perfect!

Story, I wouldn't say it's the best but not the worst too, it was engaging since the beginning till the end.

Background score, cinematography, VFX, was excellent.

Would love to watch a sequel of this but only with another good storyline! Everyone acted well ! Please do not miss this film in theatres!

Ponniyin Selvan: Part I (2022)

A realistic period film!

I was expecting the visuals would be better than Baahubali considering the budget of this film (500cr). Unfortunately Mani Ratnam made this film as realistic as possible. That was one major problem of this film I would say (for commercial audience). But honestly I liked it, I personally felt I was watching a real solid film cuz it was very natural and realistic.

Everyone acted well in this film.

AR Rahman brought this film to another film. I would say first half was super good, 2nd half felt a little draggy but not gonna complain I still like the film.

To everyone who's comparing this film with Baahubali, I would say visual wise Baahubali wins, story wise PS wins.

Even Baahubali had lots of unrealistic illogical stunts and scenes, but so what? We all enjoyed it.

PS is another Masterpiece from Mani Ratnam, eagerly waiting for Part 2.

Overall, Pride of Indian Cinema 8/10.

Cobra (2022)

Disappointed

Cobra 2022, i honestly don't know why Vikram chose this script. AR Rahman and Vikram saved the first half of the film and somehow managed to make the audience to sit and watch this mess. I mean I wouldn't say it's toooo bad but it was really disappointing cuz the hype the Trailer and Teaser gave was different.

The main reason why this film failed so bad is because of its duration. 3 hours! Directors should understand a fact that our generation would not wanna sit and watch a film for 3 hours straight in a theatre.

Overall, typical commercial brother sentimental film with a few English movie assassination scenes.

5/10.

Naane Varuven (2022)

DHANUSH'S ONE MAN SHOW!

The teaser literally showed that it's a story about a good brother and a bad brother. Why do y'all expect something bigger than that? Me watching the teaser itself I knew the plot would be small, why in the world do people expect so much of crap in a small film?

I understand that it's a Selvaraghavan film so you guys can't stop yourselves from expecting special from Selva-Dhanush combo but look at Selva's previous films, NGK and Nenjam Marapathilai was so much worse than Naane Varuven:

I would give this film a solid 8/10.

U1's terrific BGM, Dhanush's acting, 1st half was super interesting, interval scene, and PERFECT DURATION.

Watch this with zero expectations and you won't be disappointed.
