Gen V (2023)
Some heroes are problematic!
Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of The Boys, so I had really been looking forward to this spin off.
Within the opening 5 minutes of the first episode you can see where it's going with A-train being praised for being the first African American to join the Seven....what about Black Noir?!
Then they introduce you to the main cast which includes Clancy Brown who is a great actor & Patrick Schwarzenegger as Golden Boy who seemed to be an interesting character & then at the end of the episode they do the "Bait & switch" removing the two best characters.
So I kept watching even though I didn't really want to, the gore & shock value are almost on a par with the boys in parts but the story isn't all that compelling as you don't really get invested in any of the characters as they're all pretty forgetable.
If I keep on watching it will only be in case there is anything which you need to know for The Boys.
The Blacklist (2013)
They never answer the questions!
Having watched The Blacklist for the past 10 years & having enjoyed everything about it apart from Elizabeth keen, which they recitified eventually, I have waited to find out why this man suddenly gave himself up to the FBI?
However after the whole point of the show being the identity of the man known as Raymond Reddington, after so many twists & turns to have them keep you guessing for 10 seasons to then end with no confirmation as to who it is, will leave many fans angry.
Clues to the real identity have been dropped at the end of season 8 & a few in the last episodes which would fit very well with the current narratives but if this is the case then it means that when the Blacklist was started they never had a planned ending & have just been milking it for as long as they could.
Very disapointed, & will be confined to the same space as Lost, a good show that didn't get an ending let alone the ending it desereved.
The Hunger Games (2012)
Deja vu!
I began watching this film & almost straight away felt like I had already seen it & after about 20 minutes I realised it was almost identical to Battle Royale a Japanese film from 2000 which was the adults version of this film.
I preffered Battle Royale.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
We've had enough now!
Stop changing the identities of long established characters just to suit a forced political agenda.
Just make some new ones!
I'm done with Marvel, it will never be the same without Stan Lee.
