Oppenheimer (2023)
I got out of the theater sweating and literally speechless...
The film begins with a quote about Prometheus, the figure from Greek mythology who stole fire from the gods to give it to mankind. This analogy is used in the book "American Prometheus" by Martin Jay Sherwin to refer to Jay Robert Oppenheimer, considered the father of the atomic bomb. The book investigates and narrates the creation of the Manhattan Project, which led to the development of the atomic bomb.
Nolan, intrigued for quite some time by subjects such as astronomy, physics, nuclear energy, and war, found in Oppenheimer's life the perfect moment to narrate how this man gave humanity the capacity for self-destruction.
The plot takes us to the time of World War II, where new scientific discoveries, particularly Albert Einstein's findings on quantum physics, led to the creation of the atomic bomb under Oppenheimer's leadership. The movie delves into Oppenheimer's life, from his transformation from an ordinary man to the creator of the bomb, to how he dealt with the consequences of his actions. Kilian Murphy, in a standout role, convincingly and humanely personifies the different moments of Oppenheimer's life.
The film showcases how Oppenheimer had the support of other scientists in his project, giving science a prominent role in the narrative. Unlike Nolan's previous films, "Oppenheimer" focuses more on dialogue and music rather than grandiose settings and action sequences.
The plot explains the creation of the atomic bomb but also delves into the reasons behind its development and the motivations of its creators. The movie avoids focusing on destruction and battle; instead, it concentrates on the characters' emotions and how they face the consequences of their actions.
Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. And Emily Blunt deserve at least an Oscar nomination for their performances in the film,
The Soundtrack also was gorgeous, Ludwig Göransson really understood the assignment, doing one of the best scores in his career. I think this one complements the film on the best way possible.
Nolan displays his cinematographic prowess in the narrative, immersing the audience in an engaging experience. The use of CGI and visual effects is done elegantly, creating surreal and spiritual moments. Throughout the film, it becomes evident how Nolan has evolved as a director, prioritizing artistic freedom over commercial expectations.
Moon Knight: Asylum (2022)
AMAZING AND DEPRESSING
Oscar Isaac gives us a great performance, which depresses you as the chapter goes on. One of the best stories, going deeper into Marc Spector's past and all that he suffered in his youth. Adding some excellent shots that add a lot to what we are seeing. With a devastating ending in which we say goodbye to Steven for now (maybe forever).
The final shot is beautiful in which we can see Marc in a field that has no end, with yellow and orange tones. And a spectacular background music, a called "Mas Alla del Sol" that makes us reflect on everything we have been seeing.
This is simply the best chapter of the series and one of the best in all the Marvel series.
Smallville: Reckoning (2006)
Wow...
What a great chapter, going back in time in that way was absolutely great. In my opinion Lana should have stay dead. But that gives more importance to keep Clark's secret, and Jonathans death was so spontaneous. It was so sad and left you speechless.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Disappointing
The only thing I liked about this movie was the post credit scene.
