Dragon Ball: Doragon bôru (1986)
This is a well done prelude to Dragon Ball Z et al
Yeah, I didn't see this till after a handful of Dragon Ball Z episodes. It technically started with Goku having many cases of childish innocence. He was living for a while isolated from the outside world till he met Bulma, who reveals that memento from Gohan is a Dragon Ball and collecting seven can grant a wish. She finds he is a great aid in her quest. He didn't fully know the difference between men and women. Also didn't really know about indecent exposure and why fellas like Master Roshi likes to ogle spunky girls. Goku finds mighty foes. Some he can beat quickly, some that he needed to use more effort or a special way to win. And the time he met ChiChi, who he promised to one day make her his bride, which he didn't really know what that meant till about a decade later. And the times he turned into a Great Ape, which was hinted by Gohan, who Goku wasn't aware was him for a while. Then he takes it upon himself to learn the ways of the Turtle Hermit, along with Krillin, and they do wonders in the Tournament, with Master Roshi doing an alter ego to keep them from really winning so they won't lose their ambition and train more to surpass their limits. Then he has a new group, the Red Ribbon Army. And that was a real intense saga. Some of the later fellas who was a challenge even for him. Then after that, he has a near-loss to Tien. But then comes a newer threat. Piccolo, which culminates to the more intense side. Ending with a real peak clash with the later reincarnation. Then getting hitched to ChiChi. This laid the foundation to reveal his real origin. Oolong's theory was right. He is an extraterrestrial being, of a warrior race known as the Saiyans, given name is Kakarot, and he forgot his origin and violent nature when he had amnesia from a blow to the head.
My Little Pony: Make Your Mark (2022)
This isn't canon, but fun and enjoyable.
Sure they added a weird new storyline, which isn't really cannon. Somehow friendship didn't last after G4, most of the other creatures vanished, the magic was stored in those Unity Crystals, which was released to enable magic, flight and later on magic for the Earth Ponies. Now some new dark purple alicorn, Opaline, wants to get that power herself, and has that unicorn known as Misty be her assistant in that goal, who throughout that arc, starts to get cold hooves about this and really starts to show feelings to those new ponies. Although there are welcome changes. Modern technology, no authoritarian regime over nature. The previous gen had most of Equestria's weather, seasons, etc. Changed by the ponies themselves. This drops that concept. Despite those previous rulers and residents of Equestria supposedly passed on to the next world, somehow nature is now running on its own. And they are able to use smartphones, TV's, etc. So even though this isn't an accurate follow up, it's still a good thing to watch and I want to see how this turns out and how Opaline will meet her ultimate fate.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Yes this is a well made flick no one really asked for.
I did know previously about Rocket Racoon. But after watching this flick see he's part of a Marvel superhero team, the Guardians of the Galaxy.
We have Peter Quill/Starlord, a well armed galactic warrior.
Gamora, a green skinned alien babe stepdaughter of Thanos who soon aids him.
Rocket who is badass and voiced by Bradley Cooper.
Groot, a sentient tree like creature that has a limited vocabulary.
And, Drax, a big burly fella portrayed by former wrestler Batista.
And such an awesome ultimate foe to deal with. They are a team I wasn't fully familiar with, but once I watched this. I sure was awestruck by their clashes and partly comedic tones added. So, kudos to the Guardians of the Galaxy!
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: The Cutie Re-Mark - Part 2 (2015)
Season 5 sure ended with the biggest bang of a conflict!
It was also mentioned in a post credits scene in Equestria Girls Friendship Games before this ep aired, that Twilight Sparkle was caught in a time travel loop.
As this turns out, after witnessing many altered realities of halting the original friendship bond. She realized the only way to stop her is to convince her to stop. It took her a while to finally submit. She wanted to encourage this equality earlier because one of her friends quickly left her behind after getting his Cutie Mark. And she kept thinking doing this for revenge would make things better for her? Well, she didn't realize this act was giving disastrous results for the present time Equestria. And now she has learned friendship and that did have a great payoff for her in the end of the following season.
Sonic Generations (2011)
Their first game in the 2nd decade of the franchise isn't such a screw up.
And interesting concept for the storyline...and I noticed that there are no major changes in difficulty. As a YouTube fella said, what's really best about this is "most approachable gameplay." They recycle previous levels and enemies and boss foes from earlier games. Major foe is a remake of Solaris from Sonic 06. Plus you switch between modern and classic for many cases...undoing that time space rift Eggman and his classic self caused with that Time Eater.
Many good remixes of classic stage music...plus so many creative challenges and awesome final clash, both versions of Sonic turn Super and go against that Time Eater. Where you switch between them for certain situations, but overall a simple clash. I'm glad I later got to play it when I had a PS3. It was a well made anniversary game and although it wasn't for 5 years later that the franchise was saved...this came close to that.
Dragon Ball Super: Doragon bôru cho (2015)
I was reluctant for so long to really watch this...now I really did watch it all. And it was well done.
I thought it was rather extreme in those new power levels, plus that Hakai that can erase body and soul...and one fella known as Zamasu, that was so resilient that that future universe had to be reset by Zeno to truly eliminate him. But I soon decided to start watching it. And I see it does have plot holes, but definitely a better follow up than GT. Plus seeing parallel universe Saiyans & other contenders and Frieza with a new revived form, and many other badass multiversal fighters. And those new Super Saiyan levels gradually got better and better, first the red hair, then the blue, then the brighter blue, then the silver color, which was the real peak of power. But along with the intensity, they brought back the partly crude and comedic elements of the original installment. Goku being clueless in ways he was as a kid, like one time saying Bulma has a saggy body, not really knowing what a kiss is. And those antics from the Pilaf Gang who are returned somehow as kids, but are mostly there in the background. They were mostly enjoying some great food on that yacht while that Beerus fella clashed with Goku. They probably were unaware how powerful they were, they even slept through those potential universe destroying shockwaves. So it sure was a close second to Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: The Mane Attraction (2015)
Wonderful ep to preceed the extreme finale of this season.
You go, Countess Coloratura! You really made the Mane attraction near the end, thanks to Applejack helping you realize how you should really perform. What a wonderful ep to show before some light purple overpowered unicorn finally comes back and does an extreme revenge plot.
Equestria my home...until said unicorn almost destroyed it.
*smirk*
Splash (1983)
Glad I finally watched this. You go, sea chick!
Watched this two days ago, and well done romantic comedy flick. Who would have thought a lonely man would find love in a sea babe?
Tom Hanks was good as the lonely guy, Allen Bauer.
And Daryl Hannah did really well as Madison the Mermaid.
Another classic flick involving a mermaid.
