Fun Nostalgic Romp Through 80's Horror!
15 March 2020
I really enjoyed this trip down memory lane. This documentary goes year by year from 1980 to 1989 and in each segment we get a few tidbits from various popular films that year. Lots of commentary by various people involved. I will admit not much new information but I enjoyed hearing the personal views from the people who made the movies and their take on the genre. What they were thinking etc.. I also enjoyed the various topics of nudity etc. I thought the information provided was well done. However I can understand how many of the negative reviews are complaining about not enough information. There isn't much in the way of new information or insights. Plus if you're a horror fan you've probably watch other documentaries on the various films shown and already know most of these things. But if your looking for a nice year by year documentary more so to revisit your favorite 80's horror films and enjoy the nostalgia then I think you'll enjoy this almost 5 hour long spooky treat.

Murder in Three Acts (1986 TV Movie)

Lackluster Adaptation
17 January 2007
Ustinov is great, as always, but the movie is your basic made-for-TV fare. The setting is changed from the novel. I think this really hurt the production. You feel more like your watching an episode of "The Love Boat" than an Agatha Christie mystery. The plot is pretty decent, but it feels as if the cast is just going through the motions. And in my opinion, being that many of the stars just seem to have small parts, I find it's rather easy to spot the murderer. Still, it makes sense and everyone does a decent job with what's there, but I'd def. like to see this remade, esp. with David Suchet. Still, not bad for an afternoon's viewing.
