Had a great potential but failed completely

I have to say , I love Jordan Peele and I think he is a decent director. With that being said I really wanted to enjoy this movie but it just failed in my opinion so let me explain.

If you are expecting a horror movie or even an alien abduction movie of some sort , dont get your hopes up with this one.

It was not scary and not a horror movie. It did have some tense moments but that is about it.

The Main Character played by Daniel Kaluuya was the most bland and boring character in the world. Which is a shame because the man is a phenomenal actor !

The first time they see an "UFO" in this movie is so badly reacted like they were talking about a bird on the sky.

The dialogue was cringy and painful to watch.

The pacing in the movie is all over the place. It starts as a tense mystery and then it turns out into a group of people trying to film an "UFO" to get famous and rich.

I have seen a lot of alien visualisations in my life but this movie gets the title as having the WORST alien ever. No it wasn't a bad CGI , it was just a HORRIBLE idea. The worst thing is 95% of the time , when movie is about to show something bloody and brutal it just switches to a black screen , how lovely.

I just can't believe how anyone enjoyed this movie because there is NOTHING to enjoy.

The movie didn't even look as good as I hoped from Jordan movies . The scenery did help the movie a bit but that was it.

The only positive thing I can say about the movie is that Jordan always makes unique and original movies.

This movie was original , but that is about it.

I have no wish to ever see this movie again.

Prey (I) (2022)

Simplicity made it Awesome !

I thought this movie was gonna be another feminist mess but it surprised me a lot !

The movie delivers brutality , action and suspense for full 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Characters were memorable and it Did NOT feel like a forced feminist movie that does everything just to show that men are weak and women are the strongest force , that fact alone won me instantly !

Other than that , Predator was scary and brutal but not as advanced and smart like the one Arnold was fighting with.

The final fight could have been a bit more special but it was still amazing in my opinion and everyone telling you that one weak woman does the impossible , obviously didn't see the movie right because this Predator gets wounded multiple times in the movie.

Overall the movie was very simplistic , grounded and that is exactly what I needed from a Predator movie. I needed the brutality , I needed strong and memorable characters and I needed a Predator that has principles and rules. This movie delivered it all !

In my book this is a worth watch and a worthy prequel .

Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021 TV Special)

Comedy is still alive

Very solid comedy BUT It is a shame that this man had to go thru the whole controversy when he himself did more to African-Americans and poor people than Woke Culture and Feminism ever will !

Everyone should have a freedom of speech and a free choice what he supports in life.

Dave Chappel is still funny and still going strong. This one is not a 10/10 but is still pretty good and authenticly made not a scripted piece to please every single soul on earth and that is what is pure about it.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)

Decent movie but headache is unavoidable

The movie is breathtaking. Every scene is like moving art and to top it off there are some amazing fight scenes too BUT the movie at times feels like a Bollywood movie. Even with those elements , I didn't mind it but the story is just not polished enough. There are at least 3-4 endings and it felt like the movie couldn't decide which final route to take.

The daughter in this movie is extremely annoying and doesn't know what she wants in life even though her mother already gave her everything.

I liked the movie but the ending didn't feel complete to me.

It could have been much smarter in delivery and in my honest opinion , the movie is overhyped but because of AMAZING Breathtaking visuals I will give it a steong 7.4/10.

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

Death of Superhero genre

It is just another Marvel movie like every other marvel movie. You will enjoy it like a Snickers bar , as soon as you stop eating you will forget the taste in an about an hour or so.

Visually , it is a nice movie , other than that , you get a movie filled with the most bland comedy only Marvel can make , characters are laughable without any depth and I am so full of it by now that I can for a 100% say. THIS is the Death of Superhero genre of movies.

Same or even worse fate ( imo worse ) is coming for Black Adam.

Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022) Season 4, Episode 9

Very Entertaining and tense but a horrible ending

A lot of exciting and thrilling things happen in this one. The unexpected turns are great and I loved the season so far BUT

Even though the build up was great it kind of all loses basic logic at the end.

It reminded me of season 3 finale , just fake danger and just when you start to feel like it is going to have high stakes and something big is about to happen , they just play it safe.

Also they focused more on gay relationships in this whole season than ANY character development ! If you are hoping for a Joyce and Hopper moments , forget it.

Certain elements are added just for the sake of drama. It had no value for me and it didn't provide an effect that I had hoped for.

In the end. I still liked the season and the episode but I was left feeling empty and had more questions than when the season first premiered. I wish they had more courage to make big steps instead of just feeding us the same thinga we have already seen before.

The Batman (2022)

Dark and Unique but Batman Begins was better

I know this is the first one in the trilogy and as the first movie it is not too bad.

I liked Robert Pattinson as Batman , definitely liked Catwoman and Riddler.

Other than that , it is nothing that special.

Fighting scenes are horrible even for a second year Batman.

The story was ok but it tried to tell too many stories. The story about Wayne family , about Falcony , about Gotham in general and its history and mix all that with mysteries and riddles from the Riddler. That is just too much to follow , especially for people who are not already familiar with Gotham and Batman ( like my wife )

I liked the Gotham and the vibe of the movie. It is just some little things that make me a bit angry for example , in the beginning it shows that criminals run away when bat symbol is shown in the sky , awesome and then 30 minutes later no one has a problem calling him a freak to his face and starting fights with him ... What !?

So Batman in this one is nothing mythical even a little bit , nothing special , he is more like Kickass , dressed as a superhero and that is about it.

The Walking Dead: Rogue Element (2022) Season 11, Episode 11

Choppy and unnecessary episode

I apreciate them being a bit unique and giving us a detective type of an episode but it just didn't quite work.

We have seen Stephanie in like 10 scenes. Relationship between her and Eugene was not developed at all !

So why would anyone care if she went missing ?

Then you introduce an even crazier twist at the end that just makes little no sence and especially in the long run.

Just bring Rick back and end the show please.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)

Powerful movie but the delivery is not that good

I honestly had big hopes for this movie. It seemed to have an interesting plot which it did but the execution was somewhat pretty bad.

Mildred Hayes ( mother of a murdered daughter ) was the most unlikeable person in the world. At first I liked her approach to make police question themselves and their acts but when she starts attacking people , constantly being rude to every single human being , starts destroying buildings ... that is when it is too far and this person belongs to jail.

The movie overall was not too bad. The best and most powerful part of this movie was Woody Harrelson and his character.

It is also worth mentioning that this movie is a drama that is also a comedy and if that sounds bad , you are probably right. There are some nice comedic moments but most of the time they totaly miss the place and time for that mainly because the movie wants you to focus on a mother who lost her daughter and never found out who did it.

There are also numerous things that happen in this movie that just seem out of place and have absolutely no consequences no matter how extreme they seem to be.

In the end it was a decent movie with a good powerful message but the delivery in my opinion leaves a bad taste in my mouth with more flaws than anything else.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

Fresh vibe for MCU but ...

It was refreshing to see this new MCU movie. I thought it didn't feel like a typical MCU movie and I loved it for that.

The Character of Shang Chi was a relatable well developed character and his relationship with Awkwafina was pleasently good and didn't feel forced in any way.

She is mostly used as a comedic source in this movie but she had a nice balance where I didn't feel like she was too annoying like Marvel tends to make certain characters.

Fighting choreography was unbelievable and I enjoyed it a lot. It certainly brought something fresh to the MCU .

The villain was very memorable and had a nice little arch throught the movie.

There are however certain flaws in this movie that didn't quite land with me.

Ben Kingsley , even though an incredible actor was unecessery in this movie. He was used just as a comedic energy that never worked in my eyes. It was incredibly annoying and didn't bring any charm to this movie so some moments were ruined by the classical Marvel comedy.

The movie overall felt like it was grounded and simplistic and I loved it for that , we don't need Avengers style in every single Marvel movie and that is exactly what this movie does in the third act.

The thrid act in my opinion just forgets the whole buildup , the fighting choreography , the art of chinese martial arts and gets into full speed Marvel mode.

You get this big Sci Fi battle with flying monsters , lightshow , flying people and everything that was kind of lowkey in the first two acts was turned into Red Bull energy drink in the third act. Why is every single hero fighting to save the whole world !? I think we need at least 200 more Avengers because the Marvel Earth is apperently unsafest planet in existence.

One big question for me is , if Ten Rings is such a threat to our world and they have been doing bad things for years how come no one noticed that ? Did Avengers never hear about them ? Wong ?

There are plenty of questions unanswered but I still enjoyed this movie. It felt like it gave respect to some older martial art movies and for some time it definitely had that special charm.

If they had only kept it more simplistic and consistent throughout the whole movie , this one could have been much better.

Hawkeye (2021)

Hawkeye show that is not about Hawkeye

Shame that such a loveable character who deserved to have his own show is gonna be used only as a stepstone for this new "female Hawkeye" because Marvel apperently now wants to make all female Avengers.

The script is quite lazy and the character of Bishop is bland at best. I don't really see what people liked about this show.

It is not original and I couldn't care less for this new character.

I was really hoping to see more from Hawkeye.

Overall , if you like bland hyped entertainment than this show is for you and judging by the scores , it has become a norm to value these things way better than what they really are.

Wasted potential.

Hawkeye: Never Meet Your Heroes (2021) Season 1, Episode 1

Sloppy , boring and unoriginal

Why would you use a loveable character like Hawkeye just as a stepstone for this bland new character ?

Did we really need another female "avenger" or is Marvel just starting this new feminist movement ?

Why couldn't we instead get a Hawkeye show like the title says.

The episode was boring and most of the time had a lazy script where things just happen out of thin air for no reason.

In the beginning we see this little girl in 2012 who sees Hawkeye as inspiration. Move forward 10 years later and you get a girl who looks like she is 27. The little girl was like 10 years old at most. What kind of a blimp did she went thru !?

There is also a nice little intro montage of how this girl is the next prophet in every sport possible because " creative story telling " .

Overall , shame that a character who deserved a TV show is just gonna be used as a stepstone for this new character that I just don't care about.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

With great power comes Multiverse

This movie archieved all possible emotions in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

I honestly didn't expect this movie to hit soo deep in my soul but it did.

When I first saw the trailer I thought the premise is quite dumb and after seeing first reviews with incredibly high ratings I wanted to hate it even more but it turned out to be an enjoyable movie.

The acting honestly surprised me the most and I know that is weird to say for this movie but everyone was acting simply perfect , especially certain actors that I have not seen in quite some time.

The story overall was enjoyable , there are however some questionable moments that make Spiderman a bit overpowered for some reason and that makes a bit of a conflict in ny head regarding other members of the Avengers.

Certain death scene in this movie one could sence is coming while watching this movie so it also didnt quite land with me but still overall the movie is dramatic in some moments that do land.

The number 1 thing I enjoyed in this movie was the fact that Marvel didn't ruin this one with comedic moments.

I also appreciate the fact that even though it is a very ambitious movie it was still grounded and believable.

The ending was very bold but satisfied me for years to come.

I wish they make a big pause to let this one really put kind of a nice ending to our Spiderman but since I know they value money more , expect another one next year.

You Were Never Really Here (2017)

This movie tries way too hard to be artistic

So let us focus on positives . Joaquin Phoenix is great as always. He is an amazing actor and he is in control with every character that he plays .

The movie in general has a nice premise and an interesting little plot . There is also a deeper meaning in this one to question the people around us BUT The movie is extremely boring and slow. Even the more thrilling scenes are bland. Pacing of the movie overall is very slow and camera work is also quite bad for my taste.

There are a lot of unecessery close ups and there are multiple shots from very weird angles that are not made for some context or plot , they were made to make a movie more artistic and it fails 90% of time to make it seem like that. The whole movie just feels like someone trying really really hard to make a "deep thrilling artistic" movie.

Taxi Driver has some similar scenes like this movie but they are done quite well and they immerse you into a dark world and a dark mind. This movie tries to do that but it doesn't quite work.

There are some scenes that happen in water and I think those are made great but nothing you have not already seen before.

There were times where I wanted to fast forward some scenes and not just watch a guy walk for 10 minutes and that happens quite often. That is why I think the premise is great but the plot is stretched way too much and the whole story could have been told in like 20 minutes.

I still did enjoy it to some level. I didn't want to turn it off because it intriged me to watch it till the end , to hopefuly see a big payoff or explenation of some sort for certain things.

In the end , it all ends up pretty bland and leaves a bad taste after watching it.

If you like slow paced movies with a character study that is just weird at best and sprinkled with tiny bits of deeper thoughts then this movie is for you.

If you are a casual movie fan that has seen movies from more genres or casually watch suspense thriller movies than this one will be too bland for you.

Wrath of Man (2021)

Unique story telling but a bad script

I usually enjoy a lot of Guy Ritchie movies. Just like those movie I can say I enjoyed this one as well. The action scenes are done well and it is more grounded than some other action movies that take it over the top.

I like different perspectives of the same event but for me it was just streching time if the other perspective doesn't add anything new to that event.

For me Scott Eastwood steals every scene he is in. I really want to see him in more movies.

Now unfortunetely , even though the movie was good it was nothing special. Jason Statham gave such a stiff performance ( even though it is a revenge story ) that it feels like he is constipated. The acting in this movie unlike for example Gentlemen felt incredibly bland like a low budget action movie.

Overall the movie looked bland and lifeless for me. I did not expect the movie to feel like yet another action/thriller movie but it is. The script is mostly to blame. Every interaction feels forced and unnatural.

Jason Statham is mostly immune to bullets for some reason.

For me this movie didn't bring anything new to the genre. It is easily forgettable and in my opinion not rewatchable so it is not worth buying this movie on Bluray or 4k.

Fury (2014)

Underrated war movie

This movie is definitely underrated in my opinion.

Visually this movie is very strong. The tank battles and war in general feels realistic and sohbd effects made this one a stand out for me.

I liked everyones performance in this one. They all felt like a good team who went thru hell and back.

It is a bloody , brutal movie with a heart.

The pacing is very good , it doesn't feel choppy , the scenes are made longer so it doesn't feel like a shoot em up action movie.

However the ending was a little unrealistic but I like the fact that the movie also proves that even germans were people . Some hated war just like everyone else.

Overall , underrated movie that you HAVE to watch.

Interstellar (2014)

Space travel to save humanity

Christopher Nolan decided to make his own version of 2001 A Space Odyssey and he didn't fail.

The movie looks great , visually looks incredibly realistic. The movie definitely raises many questions in your head about us as humans and time we are using.

However the movie was a little choppy. It didn't really have a nice visual flow I expected from Nolan. In my opinion Dunkirk was visually incredible , now I know this movie is set in space but still didn't feel like a nice flow.

Matthew McConaughey is incredible in this movie. In my opinion he is currently the best actor in Hollywood. Everyone made honestly a very good performance in this movie.

Overall it was interesting to see this movie. It was not slow , it was not hard to watch it even though there are some confusing moments because most of us are not NASA scientist. Everything was great BUT the ending was just not good in my opinion.

The ending didn't make much sence at all. 2001 a Space Odyssey made a bold , twisted ending that could have many answers but this movie gives you a straight answer that probably many wont understand. I don't honestly understand why they made that decision.

Don't get me wrong , the ending is done well it is just not an ending it should have had. Therefore I don't think it will be rewatchable.

It is still a good movie with good performance and it would be cool to own it on Bluray or 4K

American Reunion (2012)

Satisfying sequel solid comedy with a heart

This movie delivered everything it was supposed to. It is a solid comedy and if you watched previous parts than you know this one like others will have a heart , emotions and very nice character arcs.

There is not much negative I can say. Maybe certain characters are not developed enough but overall I am satisfied and if you like other parts you will 100% like this one too.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

This movie will be relevant for a long time

After more than 50 years , it is safe to say this movie stands the test of time.

Visually I was blown away. I did not expect this.

This is a story of us humans. Our evolution and our possible future.

The movie gives answers we are afraid to hear . Shows us the future we might be scared to know of.

With all that , Kubrick makes you really dig deep in your brain and feelings to make you question yourself and people around you. Every single conversation and scene is made with a purpose to show you something.

There is also a story here about a relationship between a computer and humans. It was made exceptionally well and the fascinating thing is the question , will robots have more emotions in the future than us ?

The ending is very unique and a nice mind twist for everyone but I believe we have got used to being fed with answers and this movie is a personal watch for every single individual and every single individual will have an opinion about this movie and its ending.

That is a perfection and uniquiness of this movie. It is even more relevant now in my opinion and probably in the future too.

Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Suspensful and gripping but lacks energy

First important thing to say is that I am a massive Tarantino fan . He is my favorite director.

In general , I liked this movie too. It had some amazing , unforgetable scenes that really grab you and keep you glued to the screen like you are sitting with actors.

Acting is just superb , nothing less , nothing more. A definite standout was Christoph Waltz , his performance was very believable and well written just like every other Tarantino film.

Since this is a Tarantino film , the bloody fights and gore are still present however there is just too many characters in this one and no one really gets enough time to shine especially Brad Pitt.

Waltz steals every scene he is in but the plot just dragged for too long losing focus on characters.

I was amazed by the bar scene and everything about it but for every good moment in this movie there is at least 3 boring conversations and scenarios that are just not interesting enough because the characters are not interesting enough for me to care.

Reservoir Dogs was a much shorter film but did an incredible job with character , same goes to Pulp Fiction , same goes to Jackie Brown.

I am not saying this movie needed more action. It just needed more focus. For me , it was a great movie overall , I would recommend it to anyone but it is just not rewatchable in my opinion.

Blade Runner (1982)

Maybe it was more interesting 30 years ago

Let me first say that I indeed have understood the movie and the message of it. I understand the questioning of humanity and our nature.

When I first read about this movie I thought and still am thinking , that the idea of the movie is quite unique and interesting. However , I was expecting kind of a detective hunt for replicans but instead got an incredibly slow , boring , dramatic , lifeless , bland looking movie.

Harrison Ford had like 20 lines so don't expect to care even a slight about this guy. I honestly couldn't care for a second if he dies . I dont need a movie to be an action movie but It just didn't do anything to glue me to the screen.

One Replican women fights Harrison Ford for 3 seconds , decides to make 4 flips and dies. What kind of replican was she ? Ballerina or something !?

I guess we were supposed to be in some way invested in a love relationship that our main character has. Except that is shown for 2 minutes . The freaking Coca Cola bilboard has more run time in this movie than that.

The only thing that made this movie watchable was the ending. It had deeper message that makes you think about us humans in general.

I just don't see how anyone can say this movie is thrilling. Maybe if you have seen 2 movies in your lifetime , you might say that because i can name comedy movies that were more thrilling than this one.

I wish I could say more positive things. I liked what this movie tried to tell but the way it tried to do that was like a math teacher talking about mathematical diagrams. I am sure some like it , I am sure it is useful but you will probably be bored out of your mind before something interesting comes up.

Just like this movie.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

This movie cared more about fashion than logic and plot

So Patty Jenkins fought for years for a freedom of a female director , for this !?

As a huge fan of the first movie I really had high hopes for this one.

Let us keep ( or try ) it positive first.

This movie has an amazing premise. It has a unique story and because of that story the movie was watchable and somewhat enjoyable. I thought it had huge potential but the execuation was done so horribly wrong that you honestly question what could you have done better in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The Acting is great as expected from such talanted actors . For me , Kristen Wiig was a standout. She acted great as a nerd and as a confident lady.

I hate to say it but this movie is just another feminazi movie. You can see that in first 10 minutes of the movie because Wonder Woman saves like 4 women from men. Seemed kind of weird. Majority of men are just horrible.

This movie has so many guys harrasing and cat calling girls that it feels like an intro to a dirty movie.

The logic in this movie doesn't exist. Thankfuly we have a lot of high heels and costumes because we obviously care about that.

There is a magical rock that makes wishes come true for those who touch it. The main villain Maxwell wishes to become that rock ... what !?

Nerdy girl wishes to become an Apex predator once again ... what !?

The whole movie just doesn't make any sence.

There are some scenes that are emotional and they worked just fine and you will enjoy them if you survive first 2 hours.

The ending is ok if you turn your brain off. However I do appreciate the message of the movie but the delivery is just horribly done .

This movie is also a wire heaven. Every action scene includes people flying and swinging and it does not look that good. The final fight especially didn't make any sence nor did it last more than 2 minutes.

Tha charisma between Steve and Diana is nice to see and they do bring some charm to the screen.

If you can turn off you brain completely and enjoy stuff happening then you can enjoy this movie. Just don't expect much or you will be heavily dissapointed.

The Shining (1980)

*Slams thru door* Here's my review !

Judging by the title you can say I am a lame guy but you know what is NOT lame ? The Shining 1980 I just had the opportunity to watch it for the first time in my life. Right away I can tell you that this movie truly stands the test of time !

It is a suspensful movie that keeps you on the edge the whole time and the backround music just adds even more to that. I swear , sometimes , the music is scarier than the actual scene.

Jack Nicholson absolutely steals the show with his performance here. He can just make that creepy look that gives me chills.

I honestly feel sorry for Shelley Duvall for having to do so many takes of one scene ( 124 takes I believe ) The performance was absolute masterpiece but it was still brutal. Even the kid did a pretty decent job so overall the acting is satisfying.

I also appreciate the fact that everyone is quite smart in this movie. That really makes it stand out from the crappy horror movies we have today so this one did feel like a refreshing watch.

Camera work and little details that I tend to pick up made this movie an enjoyable watch. However I can't say that it was all flawless.

I don't agree that this is "The scariest horror movie" or even in the top 20. The movie is overall creepy and sometimes scary but everything else is just overrating the movie.

I like how everything was made , I appreciate Kubricks vision and camera works. The acting and plot made this movie suspensfull enough for me but in my opinion I am probably not gonna rewatch this movie a lot.

The Suicide Squad (2021)

Fun and energetic but somewhat forgettable

Starting right of with positives. This movie was definitely energetic , fun and a nice improvment for DC overall.

The visuals are great and there are a lot of really nice effects and gore effects that really make this movie stand out and that is why I am glad this movie is R rated.

Idris Elba and King Shark were a standout for me . I think Elba was a perfect casting choice.

Harley Quinn was also a nice improvment from Birds of Pray.

With all those positive things being said there are a lot of things that in my opinion could have been done much better.

In my opinion , not a single character in this movie was really relatable.

I kind of liked Idris Elba and Rick Flag but honestly I still think Will Smith as Deadshot was way better and his relationship with his daughter was much better done in that movie in comparison with Elbas character.

The second thing that I hated was how this movie plays in the first hour. The whole first hour plays like a comedy. Just joke after a joke and some of them were honestly not funny at all.

After an hour I really enjoyed more impactful action and unexpected twists that really made this movie a unique experience in my opinion.

Overall I rated this movie 7/10 just because it was fun , visuals were great and plot was interesting enough not to bore me but in all honesty it will be forgettable in about a week. The only thing that will stay with me is great kill effects and King Shark.

The Breakfast Club (1985)

Don't let this movie fly over your head

I am not gonna lie and say how this movie is perfect but it sure is good and relevant and let me explain why this movie should not just fly over your head.

This is a simple story of 5 individuals who come from different backrounds. In "normal world" they would probably never even talk to eachother but thru some fights , arguments and understanding they realise they are not that different.

The movie teaches you how every person has a battle within , personal problems and demons that we are all fighting but in the end people will only see your surface.

I love the way this movie was made . Certain things don't really stand the test of time but the acting definitely makes up for it. I personally think there were some solid comedic moments but nothing that will really make you laugh out loud therefore , don't expect a high school comedy movie.

Overall , the movie was very enjoyable and fun. The message of the movie , if understood , will live on for a long time and will be relavant for years to come.
