Not Too Bad
30 December 2023
In my opinion, this isn't a spectacular movie. However, it was entertaining enough to keep my attention throughout the whole film. I suppose it's partly due to it being a horror film about Indian characters. It's not something I've seen too often, and as an Asian American, it was kind of nice to see South Asian representation. Plus, even if it's inaccurate, the aspects of culture and spirituality grabbed my attention. Still, it wasn't a movie I'd pay to see. Lastly, I actually enjoyed the soundtrack, especially the song "Teeth," by Mallrat. I actually ended up buying the song after hearing it.

Barely Watchable
26 December 2023
To be honest, the only reason I watched this, is because I like most of the movies that Isabelle Fuhrman has been in. The current rating is something like 3.5, but I gave it a 4, because it kept my attention. There's quite a few new movies that can't even accomplish that, and I end up not watching them or barely paying attention. This movie isn't good, but if you're bored and like some of the actresses, then it might be worth your time. If not, I would not recommend it. Although it is amusing at times, it's not exactly original or clever in any way. Still, if you're bored and curious, it might be entertaining enough for you.

Decent

Although I never read the books, I eventually grew to like the original films. It's hard not to compare them to this one. To be honest, this film isn't quite as good. I didn't find myself too emotionally invested with the characters. Visually, the film was good and it kept my attention. I guess it was nice to see the Hunger Games world from a different perspective, but I felt a little disappointed by it. It was the one film in 2023 that I was super curious about. I'm currently rewatching the original films and they're a lot more enjoyable. Everything from the cast, the plot and the actors and actresses.

Ugh...

Warning: Spoilers
I usually like movies like this, but I had my doubts when the rating dropped by the end of the day. A lot of this seems poorly thought out, especially in regards to Josh Hutcherson's character's fast accumulation of wealth. His girlfriend just accepts it with little questioning. I also had issues with how he hid his sisters photos and belongings at first. Aside from making things go more smoothly for him, it seemed unnecessary. The worst part, as a person living with chronic pain, was the pain medication aspect. The main character as an simplistic mindset about it and the whole thing was very black and white. That just ruined the rest of the movie for me.

A Decent Watch
12 August 2023
Although the various themes in this film were reminiscent of multiple past movies I've seen, I still enjoyed watching "Cobweb." Some of the other movies that came to mind for me, were "The People Under The Stairs," "Within," "Barbarian" and various horror flicks with a child, or young boy as the main protagonist. Nevertheless, if you like the horror movie genre and you're feeling bored, I think "Cobweb" is worth watching. Typically, if I'm watching a movie or a television episode I haven't seen yet, I'll stop watching if I doze off. "Cobweb" kept my attention from beginning to end, hence my 6 out of 10 stars rating. I would just advise that you keep your expectations reasonably low, especially in regards to originality. If you can successfully do that, you may find this movie somewhat enjoyable.

Not as Bad as I Thought it Would Be
10 October 2022
I enjoyed the first Jeepers Creepers film a lot, so when I first saw an ad for this movie, I had a high level of curiosity. Disappointingly, when I first took a peek at the rating here, it was very low. I lost interest after that, until I read a few comments on a FB post in the horror movie group I'm in. No one was super enthusiastic about it, but people seemed to agree that it was watchable, as long as you kept your expectations low. After that, I went ahead and rented it on iTunes. To be honest, after watching it, I found myself in agreement with the comments that I read. I kept my expectations low and I enjoyed it for what it is. It kept my attention throughout the entire movie, which is the least I can ask for when I pay money to watch a film. Would I watch it again? No, definitely not. However, if you're bored at home and don't mind spending a few bucks, it's entertaining enough.

Pain Warriors (2019)

Relevant and Important
12 August 2021
As a chronic pain patient, this documentary hits close to home. Although I do currently have good doctors helping me, a lot of people that also have chronic pain don't and are suffering a great deal. It's sad that most people won't understand the struggle if they've never had severe pain levels on a daily basis. I know our current policies in the U. S. are meant to do good, but they're not working like intended and a lot of American's with chronic pain are suffering due to a lack of empathy from the people that make these policies. I hope they realize this someday soon, and make sure that patients like myself continue to get adequate medical care to treat their pain.
