Dobaaraa (2022)
Excellent film
Perfect film. It's a masterpiece from Anurag Kashyap. With a tinge of dark humor.
Watched it first day.
2:12/dobaaraa is a must watch...........................................
Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)
Indianized Forrest Gump, soul in tact
The soul of Forrest Gump is there in Laal Singh Chaddha. Except for Aamir, rest all performance are also at par, if not better. They have Indianized some tricky parts, while adding new layers at times. Music adds another layer, especially the kahaani, tur kelleyan, and the India gate song.
Exaggerated acting for the sake of Indiaj audience by Aamir is the only possible flaw. Aamir should have probably approached the character with subtlety, like in Talaash (not comparing character).
You might not like if you loved Forrest Gump. It is a well made film, overall.
Chhapaak (2020)
It will make you more human
It is a brilliant film. Will update review in sometime.
Also, shame on those fake reviews. Really shame.
Dil Patang (2018)
Heart-touching simple tale
There are some simple stories in life told ever so simply, yet they leave a mark and you are wondering about the characters and the dialogs all the time. It's definitely worth watching, perhaps again and again. Brilliant performances, Cinematography, and direction. The writing is beautiful. It takes more effort to make simple and beautiful films, and the team achieved it.
Highway (2014)
A pretty good film, deep too :)
Highway is a beautiful film. Was probably over-critical of the actors, director, story, everything in the beginning but then one scene came that made everything before it make sense, and everything afterwards. So many cinematic elements, pauses, silences, emotions, background score. Dialogues were beautiful. Everyday yet very sincere. Some issues highlighted through dialogue but told through stories, how deeply those things affect humans: the psychology part. Going to watch it again soon. Only because of some pretty bad audience was I able to hold back tears at certain points, so thanks to them. I'll buy the DVD and watch this film in silence, or probably with someone who's more likely to appreciate. There's still more to the film that I missed. Learned a lesson to not be over-critical, director may not want to say the same thing as we expect, yet something at a very different level. Alia Bhatt tries to copy Kareena of Jab We Met: does better. Though thankful she doesn't spoil the main scenes and dialogues. She's going to mature into a pretty good actress if she chooses nice roles. Randeep Hooda is fantastic. All the cast pretty good. Imtiaz Ali is amazing. A R Rehman the Boss has rocked. The songs are seeming more meaningful after watching the film. Might write a detailed review, after a long time have seen a film that makes me want to write about it.
Stanley Ka Dabba (2011)
Stanley Ka Dabba, Mini Review.
Mini Review: A movie that will make your hearts open, will make you smile, will make you loath a couple of teachers, mostly the 'khadus', will make you dance with joy. It's a simply story of realistic character Stanley who for some reason can't get his tiffin box or 'dabba' to school, and Hindi teacher popular as 'khadus' who derives pleasure from eating from children's tiffins. A tug-of-war is hilarious at times except for the end where it becomes slow, emotional and brings about a message. Cast and support cast is brilliant, technicalities are given preference, music is just to move the movie forward and not add any masala to it which is mostly the case with Bollywood.
Who Should Watch It? People who love children, who miss their school, who crave for innocence in day-to-day life, who believe life is simple. Also, the movie lovers, who love the performances, direction, cinematography and more such finer aspects of the movies.
