Aliens the Awakening (2023)

This film is so good for so many reasons.

First of all, things are really well explained on this one.

And that is what makes it so fascinating to watch.

They do a lot with animation, and most of the film uses a lot of cgi to add the fights with the aliens in a more realistic way.

Many science fiction films love to draw attention to their futuristic technology but the characters in Aliens o despertar react in a different way, the company already knows about what happend in Aliens, and we see a lot of the story connected to it, and that draw my attention even more, i liked the way both Alien and Aliens exist, within the universe of this fan film, and that´s cool.

This is a film of great tension and subtly, well worth seeing over and over again.

Jeepers Creepers Returns (2023)

A different approach to Jeepers Creepers i didn´t expect.

I'm not going into detail about the all movie, because I thought the movie was genuinely scary and creepy.

It´s a good sequel of the others, and i´m not counting on the remake wich was bizarre, this one has the feeling of something fresh and unique in a way i didn´t expect, to know more about the demon, that´s all i wanted to know all along, and this film gave me some answers to that.

I can only speak for myself and say that I liked the fact, that this was made the way it was. It dares to be different and does not give you a bunch of teenagers being hunt down by one guy in a mask, in a house of something like that, it gives you an open world where the demon lives and tracks and kill anyone, because he needs to survive or become immortal.

A Maldição Do Nevoeiro (2023)

From the depths of the ocean they return.

Just saw the movie yesterday, and it was a good movie, we all know that director Rui Constantino works on the low budget basis, but the things this man can do it´s just incredible, since i saw (The Thing Returns) i´ve became a fan of his movies.

And this one is a must buy for all fans who like ghost stories, i´ve always liked them since i was a child, so i got into this expecting to have fun and i did, the creatures were amazing, the ship was amazing, capt davey jones was very different from the ghost stories he was a creature but with a more powerfull look, along with his crew.

And once they got out of the fog the real threat was always present throughtout the movie, Miguel D. Dias (Captain Jones) does a great job at it, even if he doesn´t say a single word, his persona emerges from the depths to put fear on all of us.

The soundtrack is good along with the sets and the special effects.

I recomend this movie because it´s a lot of fun and if you like scary ghost stories like me, you will have a blast.

Sith Wars: Episode I - The Return of the Sith (2021)

Exciting first chapter.

The film begins with Darth Revan in a battle against the rebels were we see Darth Vader interrogating a prisioner (killing him in the air with the darkside of the force) so good.

Then we see guy named Davrol captured by another sith lord (i don´t know the name of this guy) interrogating him, he really looks menacing.

What follows are battles, a lot of special effects and a darned good time. This is a far better movie than The Last Jedi.

The real star of this movie is Darth Vader.

Halloween: Prodigal Son (2021)

Return to form, thankfully.

The editing is coherent, it's not shot too darkly and there is an eeriness to the setting which can be properly appreciated as a result. The music is a welcome return to being an asset than a drawback.

Luckily there's nowhere near as much unintentional camp, out of place humour or bizarre subplots or idea that muddle the story. Instead much of the film is fun and there is a tension, creepiness and suspense, even poignancy at times, that the previous sequels were sorely lacking in.

The deaths are the most creative and shocking since those in the original, while the opening scene is unsettlingly tense and the ending is creepy and touching.

Although the characters are underdeveloped, none of them are annoying and they do have enough personality to stop them from being too dull. The direction is in control of the material and is at least competent and often well above that, especially in the second half when the film really does come alive.

7/10.
