The Cobbler (2014)
Loved the film, the creativity of the story, and Adam Sandler in it!!! But ...
...Simply and absolutely loved this film, the creativity of the story, and Adam Sandler, he has this personality, great in comedies!!! But ...
Why couldn't they continue with the correct film flow... It's sad that the film twist ruined it all...
A lovely hilarious heart-warming comedy, such a good plot idea!
Agree with most reviewers, who forgave the final part, and still awarded high grades!
But can't agree with a high grade, as this film also is the recipe of how to ruin a film, in my opinion... kept wondering, "why, oh why"?
It's entertainment, no doubt, and recommended for most part, 90% i'd say! And don't get me wrong, do watch it! I recommend! It's fun! Intriguing, and smart.
The Little Mermaid (2018)
Quite likeable story, nicely done. Fans were expecting a Disney remake thats why disappointed
As everything in life, expectation and anticipation for what you think you will get, can be disappointing if you went in to watch "the story in your head".
I recommend that you don't read reviews, and don't expect the obvious, because it is not what you will get.
This is a good movie, a creative story, a fantasy, with twists and turns that make you wish for the next scene, and next, to see how it'll pan out. It is a type of fairy tale, a story you'll want to watch till the end, i.e. all right ingredients for a successful movie. All these bad reviews are in my humble opinion, just prejudice, and hurt pride of somebody who wanted it to be something else, then after watching it, felt betrayed...
I recommend it if you want something new, a new story, a fantasy, a new fairy tale.
No Country for Old Men (2007)
No entertainment - inexplicable character actions throughout the film
Terrible film not sure why it would win awards let alone 4 oscars!
Facts and human actions and reactions are completely unbelievable, inverrossimel, would never happen really, bad bad bad waste of time!
Life is short and I hate when I waste time like this!!!
Going the Distance (2010)
I love Drew Barrymore, but i could not watch this film to the end...
I like a romance-comedy movie, and love Drew Barrymore, and thought i'd just watch an unpretentious past-time movie... but this film was a bit annoying.
Scenes don't join together, situations are not believable, i had to stop it. Waste of time...
Abominable (2019)
Pleasantly surprised, really liked it!
Forget about political disputes, this is a fantasy film, made to entertain. And Entertain it does. The baddies really bad, many obvious cliches, very emotional that makes you cry, twists and turns, and yes, travel China in a couple of scenes, made me want to go see China surprisingly!
All in for a successful childrens movie recipe. I don't really understand people who want to see a fictional story describe reality. If you want a documentary, go see one. This is a fantasy story made for children! And well recommended!
I went in with very low expectations, maybe a 5 or 6 movie, but I give it 8, as it made me follow all scenes interested in what would happen. Like all good movies, I felt sad that the "magic" was over.
Roma (2018)
A sequence of facts that just keep happening and could have finished 1h before or 1h after
It's just not good, and with nearly 60k people who gave it average 8 of 10, i can see my opinion is completely different than others. It's difficult to explain, I didn't like it because:
- facts are just unconnected, just keep happening, as if you're living that sad life - maybe that was the goal of the director but it's not something I choose to watch
- even the scenes of most intense dramas are difficult to connect to, no empathy for the maid, or for the lady of the house or for the children or dog or for the deaths - they are just there, like many separate scenes being put together to fill the 2h time of the movie
- I gave it 4 of 10 and not less, as scenes, especially this black and white, reflect well the 70's.
The Mule (2018)
Ridiculous narcissistic film, don't waste your time, Clinton Eastwood has totally lost it
Bad script, story full of holes, it is all about him, unbelievable characters, police that's incompetent, drug dealers who are gentle, inconsistent family, you'll keep wondering why, why am I watching this junk... waste of money at the cinema, not even the good great cast saves it.
Can't see how people think this is a thriller, unrealistic and unconvincing
Sad really
Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018)
Disappointing OK Disney sequel
We loved "Wreck it Ralph", we love Disney movies, and maybe that's why it's difficult to watch an "OK" movie like this, which has the good moments, the "near-tears" scenes and funny jokes, and then give it a good grade. I give 5, because it is "OK" but we tend to expect more of Disney.
A good strong storyline, a clear objective, is the problem, or better, is what is missing.
For a Disney, you can't just make it as you go along.
I feel the creators of this story, without a logical sequence flow, just kept adding more and more unconnected ideas, just to get to the next scene, the next joke, and then next drama.
Without this clear line, filmmakers just joined together a sequence of unrelated events, then gave them a weak connector for flow.
All threads of the main story were real short with no implications, nothing for the audience to wonder, or remember, like hints in the beginning that must mean something in the end but never connect anywhere, no difficult decisions for the characters which can make a different and change how it all ends.
Looks like a team who were given a task: "make a sequel" but couldn't really think of anything, so just started nearly without a script, under the idea "let's make it up as we go along... so much potential, so many unnecessary appendices in the main story - leaving you with a shallow feeling of incompleteness...
RoboCop: Prime Directives (2001)
Shockingly Bad
I watched RoboCop 1 and 2 and they may have been violent, but they were good. Having liked these movies I thought that me and my daughter were in for a treat. I was disappointed. There is a confusing plot and it is hard to recognise which RoboCop which. The film is boring throughout as the villain changes from one person to another, and never settles. There are also many loose ends which are never tied up, I am only giving this 2 stars because there are other movies, and everything might be resolved, but I am not watching and wasting more time of my life.
Do not waste your time on this movie, if you do, I can guarantee that you will regret ever watching this movie.
The Boy Who Cried Werewolf (2010)
Enjoyable throughout family movie
The Boy who Cried werewolf is a very enjoyable movie -- for adults and children alike. Proof to that is both my daughter and I were very entertained throughout the whole movie.
There are plenty of very funny sequences, definitely an uplifting spirits plot.
It has all the predictable pieces, being based on the Aesop's fable "The Shepherd Boy Who Cried Wolf", but was done in an unexpected way for the ending, which makes it not only very watchable, but pleasant and satisfying.
Despite accent problems, and invented locations, to which most audiences may be oblivious, the entire production works well, and my daughter and I definitely recommend it!
The Legend of Zorro (2005)
Could have been better without unnecessary death of an innocent farmer
We watched with my 7-year-old daughter who didn't know any Zorro stories, and was not expecting to see right at the beginning the death of a farmer, one of the goodies, which was unnecessary. She cried uncontrollably for a long time, and we had to stop it there and then. Only next day she was again interested to watch the rest of the film. Although from that part onwards, the movie improved and much good action started: Zorro was back to his normal self, and other characters gained space. The Zeta-Jones character is a bit unconvincing when fighting, but she is beautiful as can be. Having watched it all, my daughter says she loved it, and wanted to give an 9 or 10 :) Parental guidance is probably not adequate for this feature, I'd say it should be at least 12PG.
Hjælp! Jeg er en fisk (2000)
Naive and entertaining, ideal for the young ones
As any film, how you grade it depends on what you were looking for, entertainment, action, truth, mix of emotions! I myself loved it, as it made me cry and smile and laugh, and left a good post-watch feeling.
This is an interesting plot, believable if you let yourself into the fantasy's reality. Most importantly, it was done with heart and the right values – but the target audience is clearly children.
Also a film depicting the challenges of sibling relationship, constant fights, which prove unimportant in the end because sibling love, although not always evident, is there, hidden underneath, strong, consistent and prevailing.
My 7-year-old daughter loved it and watched at least 4 times the first weekend, by now easily 20 or 30 times, and it continues to be her favourite, over all Disney collection of all times -- yes, we happen to have nearly all Disney DVDs, from classic to recent, and "Help I'm a fish" topped them all in my daughter's view. Have to say, after you watch it 4 times, it becomes a bit annoying... But my grade is for when i watched it first time.
Toy Story (1995)
Unmissable, to watch as many times as your children ask for bis (30-ish or more?), and still enjoy it, laugh and cry with it, over and over again!!
Rarely can a film be so rich in all kinds of emotions you seek with you go watch a movie. The film creates an entire new perspective to reality, but does it quickly and effective, and you don't even notice that Toy Story "is just a film". You join in and easily recognise yourself in so many behaviours, attitude and thoughts, which is exactly why it is such a successful "piece-of-art"! My son and daughter have asked to watch it so many times, and it is so full of details, that even after the 10th (or 20th?) time, you can still find a little tweak that you hadn't noticed before (e.g. can you find the "kiss my arse" expression, which is so hidden from children, and still so clear for all us grown-ups?). I really loved it, family love it, my son has grown with it as part of his great favourite films, and now my daughter, 11 years younger, has also become a big fan, so you can imagine how many times my hubby and I watched this. And still every time I watch I still laugh and cry with it!
