Family Guy: 420 (2009)
Well, at least the song was nice...
...unlike everything else. I really can't say what kept me watching after it ended. This time the story revolves around Brian trying to legalize marijuana. The jokes were below average, and there was nothing funny about Peter killing Quagmires cat (the fact that he later took fifty dollars from him and said that he killed it was just a terrible way to end an episode). Maybe it was a little bit funny when Stewie said that he doesn't have to wear clothes when he was asked to give Brian a urine sample (also, there were a few more hints that he is homosexual, but none of them were particularly funny).
Better luck next time, and keep up the good songs.
Ninja Ryû Ken-den II: Ankoku no Jashin Ken (1990)
The most balanced game in the series
As I said before, this game is the most balanced of three. It's long, with a decent story that can even surprise you sometime, great sound and graphics.
The main character, Ryu Hayabusa, is a ninja warrior who is very agile and skilled in combat. After his father got killed in the first game, he met Irene Lew(He met her before, but only in the end you get to know her real name), who (guess what) disappeared, and Ryu has to rescue her(OK, sounds boring and predictable so far, right).
The story starts when Ashtar(the main bad guy)hears from one of his minions that Jaquio(the main bad guy from Ninja Gaiden)is dead. The intro leaves you a little bit confused, but don't worry, everything will be explained in the end. The game starts in an urban area next to the Railway station, where Ryu meets the first boss, and Robert T.S., a new friend who will help him throughout the game.
Gameplay: 99/100
This game has the best balance between length/difficulty. It's not as hard as the third, or the first game for that matters, but it still requires you to try hard in order to finish it. Ryu learned some cool new moves, and controlling him is much easier now, due to more comfortable control scheme. No other game in the series or wider can compete.
Graphics: 96/100
Well, you can't say that this game doesn't have terrific graphics(animated scrolling backgrounds are the most appealing, say snow, slime, or fire especially). I'm not saying that the graphics is not great, it is, just that the third game used all of NES-es potential, and looks even more better. The environment of the game is very rich, with all the colors matched to make the game very vivid and colourful, so good that you'll forget that Nes can show only 16 colors(this solved the problem from the first game that had really bad matched backgrounds). Cutscenes are superior compared to the ones in "Ninja Gaiden". There are much more sprites, and it all looks very smooth.
Sound & music: 95/100 Sound fits well in all of the environments, and the music really adjusts the atmosphere right(Say, in the castle level I really got the feeling that the wind is blowing through every window). Again, the third part is technically better. Sorry.
All in all 97/100. A game that appears only once in a lifetime, a true gem of its genre.
Silent Hill (2006)
The best game to movie crossover, yet! Christophe Gans should be really proud.
As I said in the title, this is one of the best game to movie crossovers( in my text GTMC), ever. Finally someone decided to make GTMC that is fun to watch, and not only to steal money from the game fans (If you are thinking about Uwe Boll, you're right). All of the actors and actresses are phenomenal(they really know how to do their job). By the list of good things, I'd say it's the following: -Good game choice(Horror adventure) -Great acting crew(Radha,Laurie,Jodelle,Alice,Deborah,Sean,Kim and Tanya) -High quality CG effects(melting the walls looks particularly impressive) -Awesome story(It's tightly connected to the game) As for the bad sides, maybe some (I'm probably detailing) unanswered questions in the end. That's it.
All in all, movie is definitely worth watching
BloodRayne (2005)
to Uwe Boll: HOW COULD YOU!?
I just can't understand WHY did Boll throw out all good parts of the game from the movie. First of all, Rayne did not said one "dirty" word, she's not insulting anyone, movie lacks blood, violence, and most important, all the dialogs are stupid and too fake looking for a movie like this. Kristannas but looks too big in some scenes(She's not wearing leather costume like Rayne from the game, remember?), although she saved the movie (partialy) by showing her "naturaly given beauty",a.k.a. boobs(even they do not look so spectacular as they should). Ben Kingly looks too old to be acting Kagan, and that hair he's wearing looks, in best case, funny. Michael Madsen tried to make his role to be more impressive, but all of the actors were obviously limited by the script(which is, by the way a disaster).Meatloafs character (Leonid) seems to be having IQ under 20. Everything in this movie is quite crappy (not to say something worse). These are just a few bad sides, and if I carry on with listing, I'd probably broke the limit of 1000 words per a comment. For the end: As a film lover I can say that this is quite weak project, but as Blood Rayne fan I say: HOW DARE YOU, BOLL! THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN! YOU''VE RUINED RAYNE, YOU #$#@%!@#%%^%. Don't you agree, Bloodrayne fans?
