A final break for Chilean films
11 October 2001
Although the universality of the films is very arguable, but for people who understands some about the society of such small country this film can be a blast. This is the first film --that I can remember, which talks about a subject not mixed with political issues (sex), as they used to be, and had to be after the 1973 coup. A very enjoyable experience.

A not so new plot, taken to its best, with Marisa Tomei
11 October 2001
We don't get to see enough films of this quality. I could certainly include it among the top 5 films I saw last year. The plot is simple, and very much used in the past. But the way that it is carried out in the film is superb. A guy comes from the future in search of the woman he loves. Despite the risk of becoming sentimental the film is smart, coherent at all times, without giving away to much information or going sci-fi in any way. The characters are great as well as the performances from Tomei and D'Onofrio. Marisa Tomei looks like any girl you could meet, but she's remarkable appealing to look at even when she cries. Although I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a comedy, it makes you laugh several times. I'll strongly films were more like this one.
