Thuppakki (2012)
Pure Bred Blockbuster
Thuppakki the best big hero film in last say five years, best Vijay movie since Pokkiri, and better movie than ghilli and pokkiri put together. Here is why the movie works perfectly, a script not custom made for Thalapathy, thanks to ARM for first writing the script and then choosing the actor, so he has created a role which Vijay can only do because the hero is required to do just about everything crack a comedy, be cool, be stylish, fight, romance and dance all one after the other. No actor in the same stature of thalapathy can actually do dat, one has to be a pure bred commercial hero for this film, and he is the one. If someone comes and says someone else can do this better than him then they don't know what they are talking about because one can excel at one and not excel at another. Pure bred blockbuster. The Story and Screenplay, ARM has woven a very intricate and intelligent story and has executed really well. Lot has been said about the cineatographer Santosh Sivan, I am a mere mortal to talk about this legend, I cant see anyone else providing the movie with such shots, which really helped the movie. The music even though the songs are average, Harriss scored in the BGM department, he excels it to the core, because they showcase the actor as stylish, cool and intelligent. The movie provides everything it promised and more. Intelligent, fast paced, witty and a whole lot of awesomeness......Watch it to redeem of the disappointing big hero movies this year. Pure Bred Blockbuster and the 2nd blockbuster of the year 2012 for Vijay and tamil cinema
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Better than Temple Of Doom but not as good as Raiders or Last Battle
This movie is not one of the best I have seen, but in recent times it is one of the best movies I have seen. I'm only 19, but i have seen all the old classics. When I heard this movie was being made I downloaded and watched all the other Indiana Jones movies, I was awestruck, and i was expecting something more in this movie. The movie itself was very good and very entertaining. The factors you will miss is the one feeling u get when u finish watching a Indiana Jones movie. I felt that in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Last Battle. The direction is good, the effects are kept to minimum, the CGI has not been over used. The story is one of Spielberg's favourite outline Aliens storyline. Most of all Ford looks better than ever, he's like 50 or 60 i guess but he does things with ease and great old style. The movie is worth watching in theatre it is not was amazing as some people say it is because they are either big Indiana Jones fans or they have not seen the previous movies because they are too young. The movie is not as bad as people say it is because they are going in expecting another Raiders of the Lost Ark and Last Battle. Go in with a open mind you will like it. Two things you will hate is that you will miss the Indiana feeling and if you are like me you will question why does every superhero are having kids these days? Superman has a kid and now Indiana Jones has a kid. We don't want kids to replace fathers, we want the heroes to stay as they are. Personally i wish for the team to make one more Indiana Jones movie with Harrison Ford, why because I don't want the future to say that the series ended like with this. When i watched temple of doom, i felt sorry for the whole crew because they just messed the legacy of Raiders of Lost Ark, but when i watched Last Battle I thought they bounced back really good because it was so damn cool and as good as Raiders of Lost Ark. This movie is better than Temple of Doom but i want them to make one more movie which will end and follow perfect legacy of Raiders or Last Battle.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008)
Perfect Sequel and Straight Out of the Books
I saw this movie last night, I loved it very much. Al the sequels which are produced these days from Pirates of Carribbean to Dhoom2( an Hindi movie) always reintroduces the characters. I'm not saying it's annoying but when u have watched all the movies released in the series I feel it's not important to re-introduce the old characters. It was different to watch a sequel which does-not re-introduces the characters. I'm a big fan of the Books, when i first heard they were going to make The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe I thought it's gonna be really stupid and ruin the books. When I watched The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, i thought to myself it's not so bad, but i really din't draw myself into the The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe movie because they missed some of the major things from the book. When i heard they were going to make this movie I thought they are going to ruin it by making Aslan come all over the film to entertain kids. I was proved wrong. This is The One Book of the series where C.S.Lewis introduces Aslan in the final few chapters and still doesn't make him as a centre character. This movies is really different from the other The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as the movie has portrayed exactly what has been said in the book, even though there have been some minor cuts but they are inevitable as the book is 300 pages long while the Movie is 90-120 mins long. If you like adventure/fantasy movie go watch this definitely worth the money.
