Jack Reed: One of Our Own (1995)
Jack Reed movies!
Brian Dennehy with Charles Dutton are a great team in these movies. Good mysteries. Gritty and heart warming at the same time because of the characters. Susan Ruttan is wonderful as Character Jack Reed's wife. Love the humor, the drama the honesty. So far I have only been able to watch 3 in the series of movies, but looking forward to seeing the others! 1992: Deadly Matrimony directed by John Korty 1993: Jack Reed: Badge of Honor directed by Kevin Connor 1994: Jack Reed: A Search for Justice directed by Brian Dennehy 1995: Jack Reed: One of Our Own directed by Brian Dennehy 1996: Jack Reed: A Killer Among Us directed by Brian Dennehy 1996: Jack Reed: Death and Vengeance directed by Brian Dennehy
American Dreamer (1984)
All time favorite movie!
So watchable and delightful I can't even count how many times I have re-watched this movie. It's like "When Harry met Sally", never gets old and is always so much fun to watch. Especially to share it with someone who has never watched it before!
Having to write ten lines when only a few will do. Well, let's see, both main actors are really good together and Jo Beth's character's husband is perfect for role of controlling, disinterested husband that takes her for granted and underestimates her in every way.
Tom Conti is so perfect for this role, especially the way his character reacts with Jo Beth Williams' character.
You will absolutely love the ending! I promise!
The View (1997)
Thud, bottom of hill
Ratings more important to Walters? If Rosie O'Donnel raised their ratings then their viewers must have been culled from the National Enquirer's subscription list. When Star Jones was forced off, I felt the most logical and fair voice there was gone. To be replaced by a loud mouth that always talks over everyone. On THIS show of all shows. Sounds like a President Bush decision to me. Yep, I'm a Democrat from Oregon. (no gun rack or pick-up truck.)I work full time and have TIVO. I have lost my respect for Barbara Walters when she showed what a small and calculating person she is. Of course I thought she got to the top of her professions because of the quality of work, but it takes some back stabbing along the way as well I guess.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001)
Vincent's Character is wonderful!
Our family loves the intelligence of the plots. All of the main characters. We love the interplay between Vincent and Ms. Erb. Vincent's character has a lot of depth.Always a surprise to what extent his knowledge goes. When Ms. Erb's character has a wry comment or surprise regarding this is entertaining. Each main character has so much depth. You feel you know them well enough to gauge their reactions in some situations. I also like that they do not use famous movie stars as characters. Their characters are so much more believable. The plots are good mysteries, interesting, different and fun! Great entertainment! A ten line. comment is ridiculous. Long winded people. Probably like that.
Out of Time (2003)
Fast paced, O'Henry ending! Great!
At first I thought the plot was predictable, to my delight, it wasn't! Denzel gives a great performance! It was a great plot and good surprise ending. You keep thinking he's going to get caught, but manages by a hair until it looks as if...he's "out of time". LOVED IT!
Enterprise: Broken Bow, Part 1 (2001)
What I missed about Star Trek
Star Trek was exploration, new planets, cultures etc. All the ones that came after there was any "unknown" it was all politics and racism just the way we live now. Yes! And also, I loved Quantum Leap and Scott Bakula. He really makes "Enterprise" and I love the twist of being "before" the perfection of Star Trek, sometimes "beam me up", doesn't work! I always hate the way some people live to "bad mouth" anything and everyone. We see them for the small people they are.
Training Day (2001)
Suspenseful, unpredictable glued to the screen to the end.
I went to see Denzel, but am so impressed with Ethan Hawke. The total realism and surprise when Hawke shot Denzel in the buttocks was wonderful acting on Denzel's part. I was drawn to Hawke's character as unshakable in his beliefs and ethics, so much guts. Sorry Denzel, you can never be an evil character to me. Some actors look like a--holes even in an interview, but no matter how hard you try, you still show that good person at heart no matter what character you play. grin. I will absolutely put Ethan Hawke on my list of actors to follow now. Laurel
