It seems that someone has to represent the Swedes who liked this movie... I think it´s really great, the style of the movie is considered bad by some, I think it really helps creating an authentic feel to the film. The acting is great, sadly you will lose quite a bit of dialog if you´re not Swedish speaking, but that´s still better then dubbing it. Obviously most Swedes loved this movie, the question is why only those who didn´t found this messageboard... In response to Jon´s comment, I´d like to say that the reason it´s so well liked internationally is probably that teenage problems are just that, international! I´m sure that teenagers allover the world (western at least...) face the same problems, and can relate to the issues in "Fucking Åmål" As for Sweden being a boring country, you never considered that ppl like yourself are the problem? Lighten up, my friend... Sweden is great! And the rest of you, watch the film and have a good time!

This movie is really great, and made scary without the use of too many special FX, just like a horror movie should be. If you watch this movie alone, well... I was a wreck after viewing it. Unfortunately the DVD is not that good, image is not top quality with a lot of blemishes. The sound is Dolby 2.0 surr. Not that great either, but still sufficient. There is one very cool special feature though... The lack of quality is however soon forgotten once you get into the movie! A must see. I´m fairly certain that this movie will be remade and butchered by Hollywood, they know how to make CGI monsters, but not how to make a movie creepy...
