Spin City: An Office and a Gentleman (2001)
Best episode of the Sheen era
This episode is probably the only one of the Charlie Sheen years which captures the spirit of the early seasons. It's telling that the writer was series veteran Tim Hobert who had written episodes as far back as the first season. It features a bit more of the over-the-top silliness that was prevalent for the Michael J Fox years.
The primary story of the episode involves the cast competing for a new office and there is a fantastic sequence just before the halfway point of the episode where each character tries to bribe or blackmail Charlie into giving them the office. It's brilliantly put together and would have been even better in the show's prime years with the larger cast in competition.
Frasier: The Proposal (2002)
High water mark for the season
The latter seasons of Frasier (8-11) were very hit and miss for quality, however this episode takes a page from some of the better farce episodes from the early years and delivers plenty of laughs, particularly in the final few minutes.
