9-1-1: Ghost of a Second Chance (2024)
Huh..And then that happened
Loved the new part of Mara & family. Also find using Denny's input a great angle to the story.
Maddie's reaction to the emergency was almost over the top. Adding her experience and thoughts to the search was a reach but well written. Her visit with Amir and his reactions around Bobby laid the groundwork work for the final 3 episodes. Go Peter Krause! Can't wait.
And then there's Eddie. Mr. Reliable. Mr. Perfection. Oops. Tim what have you done???
Made the halo slip a bit from E. D. For whatever reason I immediately thought of the words from Buck's sleazy attorney during the lawsuit in S3 when he questioned why Eddie was permitted to return to work so quickly after his wife's death. Bobby kind of blew that one.
Then the reaction to Ana getting too close. The PTSD breakdown. All those pieces slipped into place. I must admit I enjoy the Kim character- what a breath of fresh air after weeks of cramming Marinun -no-last-name in our faces. And our ears. That 5 year old whine just grates. I can only hope we are seeing the last of her. Chris would have to be the adult in the house because no one could get her to act any different no matter how her character is written. That's how she is all the time. No acting there. Just a sorry case of can't act.
Eddie is disappointing many people in the fandom and I imagine it will get worse in his life for a while. Just unburden him of the nun and let him deal with the grief he never faced years ago when Shannon passed. Kim can't be long term but maybe she can be the catalyst that helps him finally realize he's far from being healed. He wants to recreate what he remembers as the good times. Whether they were or not no matter how he got to this situation it's what he realizes & does in the future that will provide the energy for recovery. He will need to do this for himself. Buck or Bobby can standby but he's got to be the doer. Let him be wise enough to know he needs to do this on his own.
Tim - I applaud you for tackling some tough subjects in this short season. Please stay around to see them all through in the coming years. 🤞👏👏
9-1-1: There Goes the Groom (2024)
Recovering Trusting Viewer - maybe
Well that was a like being in a high speed spin cycle! It's taken me 24 hours to forgive TPTB for what felt like a hard "Bait & Switch" to admitting it was another brilliant Minear foil this season.
All the hype with "the event of the season" to one of the saddest spectacles magnificently acted by my fav Kenny Choi and JLW. Heart wrenching through all the search for Chim & with Buck being so close. Reminded me of the lady holding a covered Christopher in the Tsunami from S3- so close but missed.
Chim's suffering of being so sick & not realizing why he hated this awful man taunting him was exhausting to a viewer. I hated an hallucination! His brother Kevin saving him was such a feel good moment. Gives new meaning to the word 'faith' after the lovely ceremony with the Lees. Thanks for not staging the rescue - what a time saver. A useful example of things happening off screen.
Between the previews and scenes in the episode I guess we got enough of the party duo after all. Loved Buck playing the wedding planner - god help the world if he ever gets married- Buckzilla will be fearsome to experience - Tim - please give us this in a few seasons !!
Tim allowed Maddie & Chim to be front & center for most of the 42 minutes. But he gave us such a treat with Bucks glowing smile & hearty Tommy kiss!! That's what I call bounding initiative on Bucks part! And then the subtle but screaming big reveal of their status to all the guests - what a Tim moment. Brilliant again!!! And the stuffy parents, especially mom's expression left us with much to churn on! Tommy has been the perfect addition to this cast - letting Buck discover his new feelings at his pace. He needs to stick around. He adds to the group from outside the central cast. Written as patient & caring without being smothering and well played by Lou.
I know there are many Buddie fans but IF that's going to happen there's a huge amount of territory to cover first. And I fear that would be the end of the series- like endgame could really mean END and no one is ready for that. Too much life to live first.
The best part of the episode - no Marinun - not even as Chris's babysitter pointed out by Eddie. I know I'm dreaming but I do look forward to her departure. My fast forward button is getting used too much when she's around. Get Eddie someone who doesn't sound like a giggling 6 year old. And from the real world - she's written & acts like she's from the planet Happy Times. Trouble is she's not acting- that's her! Just watch her IG.
Great job Tim. Your creative mind is much appreciated!!
S.W.A.T.: Honeytrap (2024)
Rocker!
About time they got some existing talent that's been wasted back in this show!! Can't believe how little Lou Ferrigno Jr. Has been utilized this season.
He has a strong presence on screen and is a real contributor when permitted! Sorry to see the others go but talent right there waiting to shine has been terribly underutilized.
Wish some of the camera work was easier to follow. Swinging quickly from individual to individual in a fast moving scene doesn't allow the watcher time to take it all in. Add repetitive gun fire noise and a person's absorption time suffers. With all the swat gear on it's hard to see who is on screen at times.
When you add new people for next season don't overlook the talent you have onboard!!! Rockers a keeper!!
9-1-1: You Don't Know Me (2024)
Marinun- that's it!👎
You guys have been great this season. Writers so polished & pulled together. WTHH???
Loved:
Buck's idiot moment at the restaurant- normal for spooled up Buck. This guy acts like a rookie log roller - how fast can I fall - when in new tough personal situations. This was a normal response for him. How much of my foot can I get in my mouth. If I could give a separate 10 - it would be to Lou /Tommy. Well written and superbly acted. PLEASE CAN WE KEEP HIM??? Love his demeanor, as a pilot I can recognize his decisive assured actions with a side of big tender heart. Whether he stays with Buck for awhile or not - his vibe is needed by this show. He brings a calmness to a scene that prevails even in the midst of chaos by others. Besides he can bring a new element for your first responders - aviation! Rescues, fire spotting/ suppression!! Fresh meat for your writers! Lou is a breath of fresh air needed 7 seasons in!! He adds a maturity to the show besides Father Bobby. Go Lou! Wardrobe- please remove brown shirts from his rack! That is not his color on screen!
Eddie's quick response & acceptance was a blessing for Bucks soul!!
Buck & Maddie's talk was great. Yeah Sure Every presumed straight guy checks out hot guys asses. Thats a clue about his "sudden" bi-ness. - NOT!
JLH needs to be included in more comedic scenes. She delivers better than anyone on that show, the facial features and line delivery for funny - light scenes. Lucy had nothing on her!!
The scene with Bucks nerves under control with Tommy - perfect! Lou again brings about that peace & calmness and enables Oliver to reveal his true thoughts. Great moments!!
Henren had a big moment and came through just like we knew they would. Not sure we needed the canine comparison - not quite the same but meh. Glad they showed the breakthrough so quickly. That could have gotten tedious over several episodes.
Disgusting:
Now to the real problem. The Eddie Marinun arc is beyond help. What long term watcher buys any of this BS. Who let KR back in the writers room? Such tripe! Does Eddie even know her last name?? At this point nobody cares. He asks this giggly child (how she acts) to move in with him - no Chris talk , No"I love you's!" This can't be blamed on Eddie's "Ready-Fire-Aim" habit - just a pathetic plot to keep our minds off Buddie? Ana was around for months and she never got the move in invite. Who are you kidding?!? And using such a limited actress. Best scene was Eddie's hallucination- going to be seeing lots more of that scene repeated all over SM.
This was more evidence of KRs " She works cheap" reasoning from last season. Please. Make her go find an ex priest and live happily ever after. I hate having to fast forward through all Eddie's scenes with her. Bobby's line about "making her ex mad" was the best part of his counseling with Eddie. The other scenes ruined the entire 42 minutes. And will every time she or the subject shows up. Writers & Tim- please fix this debacle. This season has been too good to allow this arc to ruin the season for us!
9-1-1: Buck, Bothered and Bewildered (2024)
What a realization for Buck!
It's been 99 episodes in the works! Finally - and it's okay that the awakening came with Tommy - would have been too terrorizing if Buck went directly to Eddie. And that could get messy in a hurry. We can hope for Eddie eventually but Tommy will be just the first step in the journey. Oliver was pure magic in bringing Buck along this journey. And we have a whole new Season 8 to continue what Tim has started - finally. Really hope he doesn't desert OG again like he did. He is the very breath of this series. And it will take his fine hand to plot the future Buck.
Really looking forward to next week - even though Maridull will mar our screens- please make it short - read that she's never shared with Eddie that she's an ex- nun. Yeah - he really doesn't need that disaster - and asking her to move in? Cause her stuff's in boxes?? Of course it is. She DIYs houses and goes from one to the next one - she lives out of boxes - please make her go find her brother and leave Eddie & Christopher alone. Chris acts much more mature than she does - a giddy 12 year old girl will not be a good thing. And Eddie's going to be a bit distracted by Bucks news. Please Tim - head em up and move her out!!
The Bachelor thing was cute but meh. Not the best lead emergency. Enjoyed seeing Taylor Wong on that side of the camera Hope she had fun!!
The poor lady with the brain bleed and the way Athena handled the notification- brilliant. So compassionate and such a blend with her own mother/son issue. Well done! Missed the Hen/Maddie session but hope to see it soon. The motorcyclist in the drain - nice and cute Ravi realizing he's going down the sewer - sweet. Lots of good utilization of the set-up times allowing Buck & Eddie to talk. No wasted time. Great direction.
Poor Buck - so frustrated and not a clue why until Tommy showed up. I don't care if you're 16 or 32 - when you know - you know. You could actually see Bucks brain and spirit go through the realization that he needed to take a chance.
I know he's going to get support with his firefam. That's part of what made his courage kick in.
Love your writers this year. But the true magician is Tim - does he ever sleep? I think of him as the Pied Piper that leads this group through a magical process!! Please don't leave - the only one who needs to leave is Marisol - she needs to go find her brain!!
9-1-1: Capsized (2024)
Bobby - Peter Krause - More - More - More!!!
These last two episodes have been amazing for Bobby's character! Peter Krause pulled out all the stops and appeared to have done most of his own stunts! Buck who? Just kidding - sort of.
This episode was the epitome of writing, stunt coordination and set assembly. The photography - again Joaquin Sedillo- the super talented DP shows a masters touch. Overhead, in the water, you name it. He and his team were everywhere. Much appreciated. His shots are the reason I always watch each episode twice. First for the story and actors and second for Mr Sedillo's art work!
So enjoyed the way the writers immersed us into the action and the director carried out their words. What a cast & crew! Sliding the 118 into Mexican territory was a bit much but with their familia love and concern I can live with the drama & stretch of logic.
Really enjoyed the Hen & Maddie scenes. More please.
Now just keep that drag & dread Marisol out of the picture and you will have 10s forever. Her teeny bopper mannerisms suck the oxygen right out of the room. With Chris being so mature the sharp contrast of her giddiness is just too painful to watch.
Those writers truly understand Hens 7 seasons of tenacity we have seen. They continued her brave determination. Not sure about Tommy but he's sure better than bringing back Lucy. And trying to buy that the FD could be training from scratch a helicopter pilot or fire dumper is more than anyone could buy. You need a little help in that area. No one should be that gullible to buy that misinformation. You're not doing the public any favors in that department. Just crushing some little kids dreams! Fix that please. Been in the biz too long to accept it. Research a bit and work it into the story. Shouldn't be hard. If you paid an aviation consultant for this bad info you need to get your money back!!
Was waiting for the Shelley Winters' swim on the ship but just read why it didn't happen. Time & budget but sad we didn't see that homage. Maybe next crisis? Just kidding.
Thanks again for a great start of the season. Keep it up please.
9-1-1: Rock the Boat (2024)
Your crew has to be the best!!
Amazing. The real stars this week were Angela & Peter with DO Joaquin Sedillo leading the way. This entire crew has to be stars to get all this accomplished after the strikes and late starts. Writing is soooo much better. Love the quick ins & outs of scenes between the ship and land scenes. Snap and you're in a new location and there's no chance for any inattention or you've just missed something major. Otherwise you will wear out your rewind feature.
Thank you Tim- no Maridull this week. Could you make it permanent please!!! Also no KR could have been involved with this - it's just too good. Please don't desert the OG again!!
Really enjoyed Hen's & Maddie's scenes- something new & most enjoyable.
For the people yammering about "this isn't real & not how a FD works" - a reminder - this is fiction! You want a documentary change the channel! You guys must be a lot of fun at a party - NOT!
So far the worst part about this season is that it's only 10 episodes. And the presence of Maridull. Bummer to both.
9-1-1: Abandon Ships (2024)
Would have been a 10 if Maridull was gone too!
Mega thanks to Tim Minear for coming home!! God they needed you! Please revoke KRs privileges to the writers room. She ruined 2+ seasons of this show. Thanks to ABC for stepping in. This show was circling the drain last season, especially 6.18.
Tim- thank you for the most endearing scene in 6+ years - Hearing & seeing Shannon read the letter to Chris - what a genius move. The sound of her voice was everything for Chris & the rest of us. He could hear her voice again! Love Gavin - he's such a huge part of your show.
Thank you for dropping Natalia - didn't need to see more conflict for Buck to breakup during this episode. But whatever possessed you to keep the giggling twit around??? I knew she was on set but was hoping it was for a short "so long." Writers didn't do her any favors last season and I don't think that actress could do anything with good material- she's plays every part the same way - badly! Go find commercials - please! I'm beginning to think Eddie's Tia was not bad in picking dates after all.
Eddie's portrayal shows a very stable person now so let him enjoy that before saddling him with this person who hasn't realized she's not a teenager anymore! Loved the fact that dead Shannon had more screen time than Maridull!!
Eddie & Bucks scenes - again- thank you Tim! Getting back to what made this show so great in the first 3 seasons. More!!!
Poor Bobby - shades of when he showed Athena the door a few seasons ago - Gotta admit wasn't liking Athena there for a minute but this catastrophe is just what they needed. And again - kudos to the writers when Bobby spotted non- Lola! Priceless! This ship tragedy is going to be extraordinary- especially the photography - go Joaquin & crew!!!
Maddie & Chim were back!! Missed them so much! Can't wait for the Bachelor party & wedding. I know they're going to be great with all kinds of slip ups.
New writers with the senior ones are hitting it out of the park with finding the flavor of what got you this far. Please - continue. That Rom-com feel is so welcome again!!
The new scenes reflecting past material - bomb, Eddie in the locker room, Josh & Maddie, genius!
Love Hen taking charge.
Again- thank you Tim - almost perfect. Looking forward to when it really is perfect! You can do it!!
Platonic (2023)
Rogan is pathetic
But the others - Rose & Luke especially are worth watching. They are pros and are the only reason I'll be back.
Rogan is beyond redemption as his brain is fried and every character he plays are the same - and they are all pathetic and boring.
Always glad to see Luke MacFarlane - he can be anyone. There should be more of him in this. Rose's timing is perfect and she is the true lead.
Just leave Rogan out - all he does is take up space - exhausting- If this was written with him in mind - someone has lost there's!!!
There's no relationship ship between those. College left over drama isn't a story - it's a nightmare. Rewrite is necessary to salvage this tripe.
9-1-1: Pay It Forward (2023)
Sooo Disappointed!
Started out like your previous spectacular emergencies! Danger for everyone. Great photography as always when JS is around. Amazing coordination between dispatch and available resources. Then someone like the idiot showrunner got lazy and launched the magic wand and POOF! Everyone is healed and all is well and...and...stupidity hit the writers.. again.
This wasn't a season finale. This was a Series finale because TPTB thought cancellation had struck. So let's make everyone happy. Let's have Buck deliver his own baby and happily hand it off because his icky death doll returned to claim her lab rat - what makes this death junkie tick - and let's be together forever- cause why else buy a couch.
Let's have Eddie materialize (Magic?) (btw - Sleepless in Seattle called and they want their dialogue back)the DIYers phone number and go against what he had just preached - dating people you rescued never goes well - and live happily ever after. His parents win with the Latino girl.
Hen & Karen are at the early stages of their baby girl, Bathena get to go on the cruise - except it's the permanently docked Queen Mary in Long Beach where the emergency was filmed - "go ahead and use that - these idiots will never know the difference."
Let's ignore Ravi. Who cares! We already took care of Madney so they're set for a life together right after a future wedding.
All tied up in a neat little bow - so long - happy trails. Except now ABC is going to have to pull that ribbon loose- cause "happy" doesn't sell. Please ABC- shed this SR and most of the later writers - send them all back to fan fiction where they slithered out of - and find some new ones that have a clue what continuity is. The PR that Fox had their star(s) do was criminal. Projecting what fans wanted to hear - then SMACK! And they (he) went laughing all the way to the gym.
I felt like I was watching some sappy sitcom from the 60s - they don't do well as 60 year old reruns and they sure don't last now. Conflict - personal and professional is what keeps the audience. Greys, NCIS, SVU never relied on this happy tripe or they would have been gone long ago - unless that's what TPTB want - to make it go away - then you got a darn good chance with this slime show.
9-1-1: Love Is in the Air (2023)
From bad to worse
They write this stuff so badly -
Would you want someone so worried about "signs" to be the person going to medically responding to your emergency?? No thanks! You have reduced Buck to idiot level in the past 3 years. Now you're doing the same to Chim??
And made Hen "the bad guy" that we are learning to dislike? And Maddie and Hen magically makeup. So Sweet
Natalia left but we all know she'll be back. Kristen can't stand to leave Buck alone to figure things out on his own. Between the dumb donor arc and his lost math talent - can't figure a tip???- you are wrapping it all up in a nice bow.
Taylor back with a tell-all? Hope she does!
And Marisol works the "magic" that is just what Eddie needs. Please. Give it a rest. Tripe.
Are you wrapping up all the ridiculous arcs because you knew cancellation was a good possibility?? The emergencies continue to disappoint. $$$ speak - sad.
The only redeeming portion of this was Athena. Her story was heartfelt and miraculously fit right in to her own life? What am I watching? Hallmark has come to 911! And the wedding with the older couple that found each other again? Hallmark! Lifetime!
Please ABC - find some real writers but first find a true showrunner! Or just cancel it now. It would be easier to take than this stuff this sorry lot of amateurs are giving us. A great cast deserve far better than what you've given them the past 3 years.
9-1-1: Lost and Found (2023)
Unless You Fire The Showrunner ...
All things disgusting and ridiculous will remain. So much talent wasted with bargain writers belonging to Kristen's Cringe Club.
There can't be anyone performing continuity duties with the slop we saw last night and earlier this season. No one remembers Hen standing outside Chim's apartment with Jee Yun in a car seat supporting him in his search for Maddie - trying to find her and bring her back? Offering to go with him? And now Maddie might run again and Chim should rethink his proposal?
Viewers have a decent recall ability. Apparently the EPS and others don't. When you change lots or rename the current filming locations- please forget to tell Kirsten. No dropping breadcrumbs either - though I highly doubt she'd be smart enough to follow them.
Sooo much talent in S1-3 - a few are still there but powerless against a "Buck enamored" Showrunner who sees herself as his girlfriend. So sad. When will Disney wake up and see her as unhealthy & inappropriate to run this show - unless they truly want it "run" into the toilet. Then she's your girl.
9-1-1: Death and Taxes (2023)
When Are You Going To Get Real Writers???
Where do you get this junk? The Death Doula is right up there with the pervert Dr Wells who took advantage of Buck in S1. She sees him as an enigma, something to be examined in a test tube almost and he's thinking how he's finally found someone that "gets him." Not hardly dude. You're just going to be her lab rat!
The most frequent comment I've heard about her is "creepy" - that's the best I see. Probably an meh actress normally but played this really weird - just way too eager to start taking his little brain apart. Was waiting for the drool to appear in that coffee scene. Don't you hire people that supposedly have chemistry- cause there was nothing between those two. I hope she isn't on a long term contract - but maybe Kristen got another actress that works cheap like "Taylor."
Loved Athena - go get 'em. Seeing Eddie and Chris was good. Missing his family after that pre-funeral experience was about the only normal thing in the show.
Emergencies were dull but cheap to stage again. I fear this is very telling when it comes time for renewal. TPTB feel the show is too expensive to keep around. So let's just let it die a death of stupid, inane and boring.
The Madney situation was about as stupid as these writers can get - where do they come up with this crap. Being audited - together - which is illegal- and for the taxes they just filed??
Doesn't anybody in this organization bother to have experts review this muck? Pathetic. That's even worse than S6-1's blimp crash. Again obviously no expert consulted there.
Where's Karen & Hen? Just a quick scene would have been nice. Oh well, a little tiny bit of Ravi was better than so many episodes without him.
And bring on that big buff guy from the 133 that moved Athena out of the way. He could give Buck a little competition!! Noticed and appreciated by many.
9-1-1: Mixed Feelings (2023)
Can This Show Get Any Worse??
Oh Yes! Just stick around. Unfortunately there are too many episodes left in the season. Thi e for another break.
So the ONLY good arcs were Hen & Karen and Momma saving the day with Denny. Along with Athena & Bobby saving the day for Madney. A 911 Dispatcher just lets a total wack job into her house? What happened to those great instincts Maddie supposed to have?? More convenient bad writing.
Please - what happened to realistic life events???
Bucks a genius now when it comes to math so let's have Fast Eddie exploit it and take him to a Firemen's special illegal and unknown gambling den with none other than the Chief, a captain from S4 and some bimbo (did hair and makeup do that intentionally?? ) named Rosie that is supposedly part of 118 (when they need a warm body I guess) - please teach her how to say Eddie's last name. Pathetic- did anybody listen to that take??? It's Di-az. Not Di-Ahhs. Please don't tell me we have another fake Latina like Ana. This has Eddie's character written so badly. Almost as bad as Buck cheating with the fire matron from last season. Just invent all new characters rather than destroying the ones you have. It would be far more believable than making them like like the creeps you've written lately.
This has the girl squad from Reidell's rat pack written all over it. I thought LS reached the season low last week with the dream sitcom. You tied it or worse. Please get a real show runner and real writers or cancel this embarrassment. The first promising tv directing stint was ruined by a hideous script - as usual. Import some real writers or use a couple good ones from the past and save this train wreck of a series. Send Ms Rose back to the other coast - anything she's written is a disappointment. She's been given too many opportunities and failed at each.
Did the show run out of money for real emergencies - I guess a misplaced vibrator is much cheaper than even a toned down fire or MVA. Spin class fiends taking some bootleg harmful tea was super cheap too.
I feel bad for a great cast and crew that they have their names linked to this junk. Disney has enough mistakes. They don't need this too.
9-1-1: Lone Star: Double Trouble (2023)
Where Did The Good Writers Go?
After season 3 of the OG critics said Tim stole all the good writers and put the on LS. Well they must have escaped - cause this season is the worst for LS and this episode was beyond cringing. Now both shows stink. Is the Tarlos wedding supposed to save this season?? Kristen and her disgusting girlie writers with no decent experience are killing OG and LS has joined them. That LS dream sequence was deserving of a -10 if possible. As bad as the donor trash in OG. They are proving the old military motto "Having lost sight of our mission, let us redouble our efforts."
What has happened to the tricky emergencies?? Budget get too tight so let's just dumb it down. Idiot audience will never notice.
Why would either of these shows get renewed with such bad scripts, lack of technical oversight and really bad acting. Good directors and photography can't make up for pathetic scripts. Is Tim too busy to try to bring on 911 #3 to sell to the studio to pay attention to the junk he left behind?? We don't need the Owen hour in LS. Do they have a death wish for the OG leaving someone like Kristen Reidel in charge? So sad. Pull the plug. Don't need to see them both get even worse next season.
9-1-1: In Another Life (2023)
Do the Execs really think repeating It's A Wonderful Life is a good idea???
I can't believe all the people who encouraged fans to sign up false accounts here so they could rate this a 10 to get their obsession Oliver's feelings un-hurt. I'm sure if this organization cared they could eliminate the shams by looking for multiple duplicate IP addresses. Shame on the idiots who took part in this. As to "review bombing" it is quite possible for many people to see poor writing and decide to bring that into focus.
If I could post numbers against several categories I would definitely award OS a 10 for his portrayal of a horrible script. He conveyed everything the writers and weird show runner asked of him. The main problem is they asked! The directing was a shared credit and it was amazing. Combining Joaquin's amazing photography talent with his directing skill was evident. And Jann Turner is always amazing. Their shared eyes for detail was evident.
Other cast members did a great job also. Watching wacky Peter Krause as "dead Bobby" was a delight - especially since you knew he really wasn't dead. Gavin is always a heart breaker in a sad and caring situation. Kenny Choi did well with a bad situation. He fought in both real and dream time to portray what the script said. I have to agree with others that the lack of Eddie time didn't make sense.
And that brings me to my main concern. Does this show employ anyone besides the actors who have watched since season one? Do they have a Consistency team? How do you take all three sets of parents (Diaz's last season) and suddenly make them appear as the graduates of the "Donna Reed" school of parent perfection. I used to see that reference in college. Never thought I'd actually see such a thing in 2023.
For Albert to bring the tyrant father into Chim's house was a betrayal of Chim.
For the Buckleys to suddenly be fronting the money for Chim and Maddie's house? For Buck to be happy to see them and sharing the sperm donor info so freely? Those were the true dream sequences. At least to anyone who has consistently watched this show. Does this half baked show runner really think this 180 degree sudden change is not going to be noticed? We can whiplash from watching this stuff. And we are supposed to believe Bucks immature thinking and approach to life is cured?? This is worse than any soap opera ever written. This is billed as a Procedural show. It's disintegrating just like many others who get bogged down in personal inconsistencies. It just took the others 10-13 seasons to get ruined. 911 is doing it in record time! Bring back the Tim Minear days. PLEASE! You have such talent being wasted. If they don't start jumping ship soon I'll be shocked. Totally underused and abused. And next week we get more cop fantasy. Happy to see Peter Krause being featured but in jail??? Get this junk writing team and SR out the door and bring back the real talent.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit: Zoey (2023)
They actually get paid for this trash!
I'm beginning Danno needs Mc Garrett back as his lucky charm. His talent tries to come through in this tripe but he's surrounded by such garbage there's no chance. Mr. Caan must owe some big debt to be involved in something so bad. What is Fox thinking???
I don't know who is worse - the all-knowing witch doctor rubbing eggs on people under stress when she's not burning sage in the office or the know-it-all mom who's supposed to be a trained cop but doesn't follow through with a DNA check on her own "son" - who only the teenage daughter could see in one minute was a fake. And the audience figured out in the first 5 minutes of the pilot.
And these writers and casting folks have to do a duplicate Epstein right down to the look-alike actor. Does he commit suicide too?
Is Fox this hard up for content that they have to copy crap this recent? Even the fake kid is a takeoff on a recent story.
This show is as bad as 911 when it comes to writers? Do you have the same pathetic showrunner as 911? Could be - doesn't take much time when you hire ex fan fiction writers to rewrite the headlines. Can't believe how pathetic this is. I hate reality tv but it's looking better every day!!
A Christmas Witness (2021)
The Worst Excuse for a Movie
Soooo bad. I wanted to hit delete but wanted to see if it got better. So disappointing. Those two had zero chemistry. And if anyone believes this is any where close to how the FBI works God help us. I know they've gone down the tubes at HQ but the agents are still good people. This junk was such a slap in their faces.
Who could write this crap? And worse yet, who are the idiots that produced it and the network that airs it.
None of the actors are any good but considering the script they had to work with what could anyone expect?!? And who did the casting? The budget for this thing had to be super low considering the lack of named talent they hired.
I watched because some people gave this great reviews- did they even watch this garbage or was the sound up? So sad. Not a second of entertainment in this monstrosity. Save your time. It's worth much more than this junk.
9-1-1: Red Flag (2022)
Fan Fiction at its worst
I am not an avid fan Fic participant but since the show runner bragged in several interviews that this is where she got her start I wandered over to read a few. Have to admit - it all makes sense now. Since season 3 this show's writing has mostly been very soapy - pathetic most of the time. I see the fan fics have competitions apparently where a number of phrases or simply words are offered to a group and from that they write a story-could be 1,000 words or 10,000 but the phrase gets repeated often. Some actually call it a Bingo series. That is the same thing happening by the 911 writers/show runner. Every scene envelops the title - over and over. Does someone in the writers room get to yell Bingo when they fill 42 minutes with this garbage??
What happened to the excellent writers from the first 3 seasons?? The original show runner took them with him to 911 LS and others just escaped with their credibility. Kristen you have demolished the characters every chance you get. So sad.
That little scrap fire warranted all the firefighters in their smoke gear?? Come on - I've seen neighbors put those out with a garden hose. What has happened to the real emergencies from years past? She says season 6B will have "a storm with thunder and lightning but no rain" - my god woman - do your research- it's called dry lightning and happens frequently.
You've relegated Cap to near nothing for 8 episodes, Athena has been off doing movies so we get very little of her. Chim & Maddie has most everything happen off screen - so we get about the same as season 5 which is nothing. Hen & Karen are appreciated- at least we've seen them with some consistency.
Buck is regressing in maturity level each week. Thought he'd really make personal progress after dumping Taylor but instead he's going backwards. He didn't pay attention to Hen when she told him he'd be "a donor not a dad." He ran out and bought the kid a firefighter inside already?? Is that supposed to touching? Aww how sweet. What next - is he going to be handing out cigars when the kid arrives and then he gets tge wake-up call when it goes home with his idiot shallow old friend and mommy? And then Buck goes back home and wonders why he got left again?? This is malfeasance- what you are doing to his character.
Eddie and Chris seem to be the brief comedy relief - Chim's old job. That's the best you can do - but you're going to have Eddie start dating again soon - so that will make him right with the world. Hope you do better casting than last time. One bright spot is we only had 3 minutes of Lucy this season so far - but knowing Kristen she'll figure out a way to punish us and bring her back. Cruel. And pity the poor crew that have to work the long hours to actually bring this product to our screens.
Maybe Ryan's allowing this because most of the casts' contracts are up and it will be easier to low ball them if the demo keeps going down as it has. Would he really do that to his own show? After the last three years I'd say anything is possible. Have to wonder if he or Tim ever watch this disaster. Fox is moving LS to Tuesdays. Wonder if OG will also. Good luck with being up against the three FBI shows. Maybe Fox is making a strategic decision for the group. Kristen can always go back to fan fic - seems like she never really left.
9-1-1: What's Your Fantasy? (2022)
This is turning into a bad joke
So the emergencies are blah. The characters causing the emergencies are mostly comic relief. Okay - Incel was disgusting but even at the end he was beyond creepy and changed to weeping - not a very real possibility.
These writers are pathetic. Kristen's Girl Club. All the good ones are gone. They went somewhere that they can actually write - not record Kristen's toxic dreams for these characters. They are at the mid season finale and Bucks become the comic relief last week and this week he shows he doesn't have a clue about kids. Let Jee run amok like that and she'll be doing the same thing at 20. Not realistic at all. Eddie's concern with Chris was cute and at least he didn't panic. Surprised.
May being allowed to speak to the criminal in a hostage situation?? Yeah that's realistic. What idiot writes this stuff? Doesn't matter cause Kristin approves anything to get through the 42 minutes. I feel sorry for the decent actors who have to repeat this crud. At least they're getting paid a decent salary. Kristen should return to her subpar fan fiction career so the rest of us can stop suffering. Wake up Fox! You're paying for this tripe.
9-1-1: Tomorrow (2022)
Finally!
Most definitely the best episode since season 4. Many have been clamoring for more Ken & Karen. We got it. The icing on the cake was Joaquin Sedillo directing. His eye is the best you have at Fox!
And for a few minutes I was so disappointed in Karen's attitude towards taking Eva's baby to raise. But she's allowed to grow and realize that her love could reach beyond Hen. So glad we got to see more depth in their relationship.
Would have been nice to see a little more of the regulars but as long as Lucy didn't descend upon us I'll settle for the little we got. Speaking of the old fire marm - why was she left in the fire fam shot on the photo board and Ravi removed??? LD needs to stay away - or Fox risks losing some long time viewers. She is not a credible firefighter- no way. Especially on risky rescues. And Bobby making her acting Captain in a previous episode?? What an insult to our intelligence. Emphasize Hen or anyone else but not someone with no body strength- not realistic. Give us real world standards not a show runner's secret crush.
Aisha Hinds' acting is amazing! Loved seeing the great Tracie Thoms featured. And using Chimney as the wrench to wake Karen up was perfect. So true to his character.
Most enjoyable episode since season 4. Can we pretend Season 5 didn't exist - please. Such a waste. Still hoping for a different show runner in the future or this great episode will be just a one time flash.
9-1-1: Animal Instincts (2022)
Eddie saves this episode
Okay. Director was a 10. Writer and show runner -100.
Let's see how stupid we can make Buck look - again.
So haven't heard from you for years - no invite to the wedding but, hey can we get some bodily fluids cause my swimmers don't work. Oh and I'm giving you an out in the second unexpected visit - not playing in your sympathy at all. - I'm just not like a man and we don't need to see books of candidates who have agreed to anonymously donate their sperm - we have a chump right here who is so nice and kind! Let's not mention the fact that this kind person came from two of the nastiest, self-centered people on earth. And because of them Bucks maturity level is about 12 at best. Kristen and Stacy - was it difficult stealing this arc from Station 19? You could have at least waited a year or so. Their drama started last season and continues this season. Plagiarism isn't pretty in any form.
The only redeeming part of this episode was Eddie and Christopher. A small wrinkle in the road to Christopher!s road to sainthood. Thanks for bringing Ramon in for Eddie and leaving wicked Helena out - she would gotten on her broom to come rescue poor Christopher.
It wasn't unexpected for the fighter Hen to abandon her own pity party - brief as always and get back in there fighting for another chance.
And who is surprised Hoover is home with Bobby. All the empty nest references - duh!
Come on you guys. This arc with Buck doesn't go with the Buck we thought was developing. What's he going to do when he realizes he's not part of family - just the donor- thanks for participating- you can leave now cause we don't want your kind self any more - unless it's more donations later on - after all we want more than one kid.
Pathetic!
9-1-1: The Devil You Know (2022)
Did Anyone Really Need This Episode?
No! So because AB was gone filming her Panther role - when she gets back we see her and her characters history for 42 minutes- not even a flash of the other show characters.
Sorry but that doesn't work with an ensemble show. We don't need a Copagenda for a full episode. Even PK was treated like a standby used only when she needed saving or hugs.
So far this season is a disappointment following in the poor tradition from S5. Tim and Ryan - the show brains(?) when are you going to step in and fix this mess. Don't you want to get to more seasons? How long will Fox pay for this stuff? I know ratings go down in later seasons but with this cast and previous successful writers and directors it wouldn't have to happen.
The Rookie: Feds (2022)
Would give a lower score if possible!
Can TV get any dumber? ABC just proved it! Yes! From the disgusting clothes to her underacting ability it's worthless. Waste of screen time and thus my time. I'm out!
The Rookie leans on improbable but has some good actors and meh scripts. But this monstrosity should not be given an opportunity to show the next episode. Ms Nash was bad enough in the pilot - what idiot is wasting their money on this tripe. Sad to see Steven Culp drawn into this garbage.
Is there one scene that doesn't show her bra about to self-destruct? Yet they dress down the new guy for an "inappropriate suit." What idiot wrote this stuff?
Please save the slot on ABC for something worthwhile. Cause this isn't it. Chase scenes so stupid.
I'm sort for anyone who felt they had to work on this garbage. "I was young - I needed the money" is no excuse!!
9-1-1: Crash & Learn (2022)
Had Such High Hopes...
With JCC writing and directing. But I have a feeling he can only do what's permitted within KRs direction. What a shame. Bobby and Athena - okay. The stress of Hen is very realistic- why she made the choice to overload herself will come out - and I hope it's not ego based. Karen is a good partner but there's only so much she could do.
Why are we seeing such an immature Buck? I'm starting to think he really lives in substitute father Bobby's basement- his life choices always seem so poor - always depending on what other people think - this week it was Hen who was already drowning in her own issues. Liked the lifeline attempt by Eddie and Chim after shift for breakfast. Nice touch. Like most of the world I'm ready for Buck to stop treading and nearly drowning. But he doesn't need to attach himself to another worthless woman or anyone else at this point. Promises of 6.4 have been made but that so resembled the promises last season when we were made to suffer through all those extra scenes of Taylor. Blessing of no Lucy. Hope that's a permanent situation. No faith in OS's PR - he's obfuscated too much the last 3 seasons. Probably just doing what KR ordered. Sad. Keep quiet rather than mislead us. Just like last weeks synopsis - none of it happened.
So far this season we've seen 2 emergencies done by Chicago Fire 5 years ago. I really dislike that show because they kill so many off - and I don't need to see redone scenes on 911.
I consider JCC and Joaquin Sedillo the dream team. But even they have to listen to KR. Too bad. Come on 911. You can do better. You did in S 2&3. Failure always tracks back to the boss. Take a hint.
