Hypocrite blood-heiress deserves prison
Madeleine Sackler, of the infamous Oxy-murder Sackler family, waxes poetic while completely ignoring her family's responsibility for a wave of murder and destruction that claimed the lives of over 600,000 Americans. Nan Goldin was thrown out of the premiere for protesting this film. HBO and Tribeca should be ashamed.
Read Empire of Pain if you want to hear about how this tone deaf blood heiress strategically avoided the fact that the prison she was filming in was likely filled with people who were put there as a result of her family's products. I hope she gets chased out of the country for good.

Best Thriller in the last Five Years
The most striking performance in Tilda Swinton's exciting career. Only poor marketing prevented this from succeeding as the thriller of the year. Swinton plays an alcoholic slut who agrees to help kidnap a child, and ends up with him on an odyssey in Mexico through a thorn thicket of people you do not want to meet. If there's one thing consistent about her behavior, it's how she lies to all of them. (Via Roger Ebert) This is an extremely engaging film. Swinton's performance, the writing, and the relationships between characters are all spectacular. It is surprising and inevitable and truly rewarding. On Ebert's top 10 of 2009 list for a very good reason.
