Regular Show (2010–2017)
7/10
Way more than Regular
28 March 2024
Animation: 5/10 The animation in Regular Show is distinctively retro-inspired, paying homage to classic cartoons while adding its own unique flair. Characters are creatively designed, with exaggerated features and expressive movements that enhance the humor and storytelling. The use of vibrant colors and dynamic backgrounds creates a visually engaging experience that captures the whimsical and surreal nature of the show's universe. Too bad the animation is not fluid and it is computer animated and it's a bit rushed and tries to be "cool". It may be also a bit Calartsy at times.

Timing: 9/10 One of the standout qualities of Regular Show is its impeccable timing. From comedic beats to action sequences, the pacing is expertly crafted to keep viewers engaged and entertained throughout each episode. Whether it's a quick exchange of witty banter or a suspenseful moment leading to a punchline, the timing is consistently spot-on, maximizing the impact of every joke and plot twist. Sometimes the timing may go out of hand.

Writing: 6/10 The writing in Regular Show is clever and witty, blending humor with heartwarming moments and occasional doses of surrealism. The dialogue is sharp and filled with pop culture references that appeal to both children and adults, adding layers of depth to the storytelling. The show also excels in character development, with each member of the cast having their own quirks and personality traits that contribute to the overall charm and humor of the series. I don't like the fact it may have some bits of strict action, the excessive use of the word "man", "dude", "bro", etc and its sad moments sometimes. It can be filled with pop culture references.

Entertainment: 7/10 Overall, Regular Show is a highly entertaining series that offers a decent blend of humor, adventure, and nostalgia. Whether you're a fan of its offbeat humor, imaginative storytelling, or lovable characters, there's something for everyone to enjoy. With its catchy catchphrases, memorable episodes, and endless supply of pop culture references, Regular Show remains a classic that continues to captivate audiences of all ages.

Overal: 7/10.

It ain't amazing.
27 March 2024
Animation: 2/10 Despite its unique blend of animation styles, The Amazing World of Gumball falls short in its execution, resulting in a disjointed and inconsistent visual experience. While the combination of 2D and 3D animation, along with live-action elements, initially seems innovative, it ultimately feels generic gimmicky and distracting. The character designs lack cohesion, with each character seemingly drawn from a different artistic universe, leading to a lack of visual unity. Additionally, the animation quality varies widely between episodes, with some featuring fluid movements and expressive character animation, while others feel rushed and poorly executed. Overall, The Amazing World of Gumball's animation fails to live up to its potential, resulting in a lackluster visual presentation. It's also Calartsy.

Timing: 2/10 Timing is a weak point in The Amazing World of Gumball, with comedic beats often falling flat due to poor pacing and delivery. While some episodes feature moments of "genuine" humor and "wit", they are overshadowed by long stretches of awkward silence or forced jokes that fail to land. The pacing of each episode is inconsistent, with scenes dragging on unnecessarily or rushing through important plot points without allowing for proper buildup or development. As a result, the timing feels off-kilter and disjointed, detracting from the overall viewing experience. Though there is a joke or 2 that I use sometimes.

Writing: 1/10 The writing in The Amazing World of Gumball lacks depth and substance, relying heavily on tired tropes and recycled jokes that quickly grow stale. While the show occasionally touches on relatable themes and issues facing modern children, such as family dynamics and social relationships, it often fails to explore them in a meaningful or thought-provoking way. Character development is minimal, with most characters remaining one-dimensional and uninteresting throughout the series. Additionally, the dialogue often feels forced and unnatural, with characters delivering lines that sound more like contrived punchlines than genuine expressions of emotion or thought. Overall, The Amazing World of Gumball's writing is uninspired and forgettable, failing to engage viewers on a meaningful level. Plus, it has way too many cultural references and very dark thenes on modern world. It's too political.

Entertainment: 2/10 The Amazing World of Gumball ultimately fails to deliver on its promise of entertaining and engaging storytelling. The lackluster animation, poor timing, and uninspired writing result in a viewing experience that feels dull and uninteresting. While younger audiences may find some enjoyment in the show's slapstick humor and wacky characters, older viewers are likely to be left disappointed by its lack of depth and substance. Overall, The Amazing World of Gumball's inability to deliver compelling entertainment value makes it a forgettable entry in the world of animated television. Plus, the slapstick is cringey.

Overall: 2/10 The Amazing World of Gumball disappoints on multiple fronts, with lackluster animation, poor timing, uninspired writing, and underwhelming entertainment value. It ultimately fails to deliver a cohesive and visually engaging experience. Additionally, the show's lack of depth and substance, coupled with forced humor and contrived storytelling, make it a forgettable entry in the world of animated television. Overall, The Amazing World of Gumball falls short of its potential, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment and dissatisfaction.

Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi (2004–2006)
10/10
Puffytastic
27 March 2024
Animation: 8.5/10 The animation in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is a visual feast for the eyes. With vibrant colors, fluid movements, slapstick and charming character designs, it captivates viewers from the first frame to the last. Each scene is meticulously crafted to evoke the energetic spirit of the show's titular characters, Ami and Yumi, and their zany adventures. Whether they're rocking out on stage or embarking on whimsical escapades, the animation quality remains consistently top-notch, making it a treat to watch for audiences of all ages. It's like a mix of anime+Looney Tunes + UPA cartoons. The small problem that it's that besides using Traditional cels, also uses Flash animation and also some recycled scenes/props/characters/poses but I think that this toon makes Codename Kids Next Door look like Disney.

Timing: 10/10 One of the standout qualities of Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is its impeccable fast timing. From comedic beats to action sequences, the pacing of each episode is expertly crafted to keep viewers engaged from start to finish. The jokes land with precision, delivering laughs at just the right moments, while the action sequences are choreographed with an infectious energy that keeps the adrenaline pumping. Whether it's a rapid-fire exchange of witty banter or a wacky chase scene, the timing in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is always spot-on, ensuring that every moment leaves a lasting impact, it may go a little too fast but there is some point in the episode that redeems on that little too fast part.

Writing: 9.5/10 Behind the lively animation and dynamic timing lies a foundation of solid writing that elevates Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi to new heights. The show's cleverly crafted scripts are packed with incredible humor and imaginative storytelling that resonate with viewers of all ages. The dialogue is sharp and funny, effortlessly capturing the unique personalities of each character and bringing them to life on screen. Whether it's exploring themes of friendship, pursuing dreams, or simply embracing the joy of music, the writing in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is consistently thoughtful and engaging, making it a standout in the world of animated television. There is some action fights sometimes (not a big fan of action) but it redeems it with a funny ass gag. But it has a lot of many zany, comical and incredibly random (in a good way!) plots but it's all centered in 3 words: Touring the World.

Entertainment: 10/10 At its core, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is pure, unadulterated fun. From its infectious theme song to its memorable characters, from hilarious slapstick and outrageous adventures, the show never fails to entertain. Whether you're a longtime fan or discovering it for the first time, there's something undeniably enjoyable about joining Ami and Yumi on their wild ride through the world of music and mayhem. With its irresistible charm, boundless creativity, and endless supply of laughs, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is a must-watch for anyone in search of pure, unbridled entertainment.

Adventure Time (2010–2018)
2/10
The Not So Adventurous Tine
27 March 2024
**Animation (2/10):** The animation in Adventure Time falls short of expectations, lacking the fluidity and detail. This characteristic (Calarts Style) must have influenced future animations for the worst. Character movements often feel stiff and robotic, and the backgrounds lack depth and detail, giving the show a cheap and hastily produced feel.

**Timing (2/10):** The pacing of Adventure Time is erratic and disjointed, making it difficult for viewers to fully engage with the storyline. Episodes frequently meander without purpose, with scenes dragging on unnecessarily or rushing through crucial plot points, leaving audiences feeling disconnected and unsatisfied.

**Writing (2/10):** Despite its cult following, Adventure Time's writing often feels lazy and uninspired. The dialogue is littered with juvenile humor and nonsensical babble, lacking the wit and cleverness that characterize successful animated shows. The plotlines are convoluted and nonsensical, leaving viewers scratching their heads rather than eagerly anticipating the next episode.

**Entertainment (2/10):** Adventure Time fails to deliver on its promise of providing entertaining and engaging content for viewers of all ages. Instead of offering meaningful storytelling and compelling characters, the show relies heavily on shock value and randomness, resulting in a chaotic and ultimately unenjoyable viewing experience. Overall, Adventure Time falls short of its potential, leaving audiences feeling disappointed and frustrated.
