Silo: Truth (2023) Season 1, Episode 4

Wasted about an hour of my life with this filler episode

Title says it all. Knew they were going to kill off the stars of this show early...but this episode was awful for so many other reasons. I can deal with that bait-and-switch, as long as the other actors are doing well, but Patton's acting was phoned in here.

Really hoping the next episode makes up for this one. If it doesn't, then I'm dropping this series, sadly. Don't know what we're going to do while waiting for Star Trek's Strange New Worlds to finally pick up again.

This thing with only 8 - 10 episodes, then wait for over a year or two for another season is just baloney. Makes it tough to feel sorry for the writer's striking.

Kimi (2022)

"The Net" 27 Years Later

Similar to another move 27 years ago with Sandra Bullock called, "The Net".

Instead of having the main character's identity wiped by the evil corporation, this one suffers from agoraphobia. Decent production values and not a total waste of time to watch.

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

It's just like pizza....

And like pizza...well, even when it's bad...it's still pretty good!

I see way too many people went into this with very high expectations, and who can blame them? The first one was simply, iconic...a game-changer, mind-blowing to the nth degree.

The second and third sequels? Well, like another reviewer wrote: Let's not talk about those (special effects on top of the 18-wheelers were good though).

But thanks to all the crappy reviews from various media sources...I went in with low expectations, and I'm glad I did. I enjoyed trying to figure out what was happening, not that it required much, but it kept me engaged. Then I was interested in finding out whether any of my assumptions of what was going on might run into a twist of some sort. That didn't really happen, at least not in a big way.

I'm reminded of how Eddie Murphy joked about how some women often withhold sex, and when you finally get it...it's really great. He goes on to say it's like giving a starving man a cracker, and the man eats it up like it's the best cracker he's ever eaten!

Well my friends, we've been stuck with relatively little in the way of seeing really good entertainment over the nearly two years of this pandemic...and we're starving for really good entertainment. I mean, at this point we'll take whatever we can get (Wandavision, Hawkeye, 10 rings, etc.). Not great stuff, but at least a little entertaining. Certainly better than nothing!

Finally, for those who've bashed this movie to pieces: A - Sorry your expectations were so high, and B - If you can write a better movie, then do it, and stop yer whining!

King of Cool (2021)

A must-see if you are at least in your mid-50's!

I didn't expect much from this documentary. No idea of how well it was put together or what depth of research was made. BUT this was very professionally made, and in every important aspect.

I'm 61 now and can recall watching Dean Martin in movies and his TV show as a kid. I knew something about his rise as a singer, the Martin & Lewis phenomenon, the Rat Pack, the fallout with Jerry Lewis, marriage problems, and the devastation of his son's tragic death. This was all presented in a very coherent and professional manner.

The man's entire life is covered very well here, and very entertainingly so. It was engrossing from the first few minutes and all the way to the end. Injected interviews were spot on...not too short, not too long. In many ways it was a sort of blast from the past, and I enjoyed it tremendously.

It's been a very long time since feeling compelled to write a review on IMBD. In fact, I had to create a new user account to post this. But I felt it was necessary to share my impression after just having watched it.
