Gonchi la película (2015)
A truly inspirational story
Chances are you might not have heard of Gonzalo "Gonchi" Rodriguez. Had he not become another motor sport fatality, chances are you probably would have. 15 years on and "Gonchi" is now being remembered in a documentary of his own, featuring an all-star cast from the world of motor sport giving interviews on his life and career such as Juan Pablo Montoya, Mark Webber, Helio Castoneves and the late Justin Wilson.
This is a story about inspiration and overcoming obstacles. It portrays that nothing is impossible in life if there is dedication and love. A story about a young man that went through many hardships and that raced with the best. He came from a far away country (Uruguay) with no tradition in the racing world.
As a huge racing fan myself I truly enjoyed this documentary and although I indeed knew who he was it gave me more in-depth knowledge of the every smiling driver.
Goosebumps (2015)
Nothing like TV series but solid movie
First of all I would say kids would enjoy this movie and most adults alike. If your like me and grew up watching the Goosebumps TV Series thinking the movie would be the same, then your wrong. The movie has a different twist to the TV series and is more of a stand alone movie with a different format. If you have never watched the TV series you probably would view this movie in a different perspective.
In saying that I really enjoyed this movie. It has something I wasn't expecting and has been directed in a clever and funny way. Although it has monsters and other scary creators in it, the movie plays this down to make it ideal for kids to watch while adding humour which kids would understand and laugh at.
The acting was reasonable and Jack Black (R.L Stine) brought something else to the table, which for me made it more enjoyable with his usual goofy and wacky personality.
The Danish Girl (2015)
Eddie Redmayne Oscar worthy performance
I wasn't sure how I would take to this movie as its not the sort I would go for. After the 1st 20 minutes I was hooked. It is very story rich and as with other recent films and TV series has a LGBT equality aspect to it, educating the viewer of the emotions these human beings go through to have peace of mind. Based on one of the first recipients of sex reassignment surgery, Lili Elbe.
Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander was fantastic in their given roles and as a viewer I felt the characters emotions. Eddie Redmayne should be given a Oscar for his roll as Einar/Lili using his eyes to great effect and body language perfectly. For me he made this movie what it is and was diverse in both characters he played.
The 5th Wave (2016)
worth a watch...
Aliens come to Earth and are gradually wiping out human existence. The first four waves come pretty quick as you an imagine as the movie is called the "5th" Wave. After that it seems to drag in parts and rushed in others' In saying that overall I liked this movie and would watch it again, and while it did have its flaws, it left me wanting more as the ending was left wide open.
The acting was pretty good, love story was good, and the effects were decent for a lower budget movie. Chloë Grace Moretz is fantastic in this movie just like she was in other movies i've seen her in.
I wish it was filmed in a more adult way instead of the teen/young adult way. This would have been more appealing for me and would have probably taken it to the next level.
