Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
8/10
A deep dive into physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer's life
2 August 2023
Oppenheimer is a dialogue heavy film that covers the development of the atomic bomb and the devastating impact and threat it posed to the world at the time and even nowadays.

In Oppenheimer, Nolan has shifted genres from his usual Sci-Fi to a Biopic/Drama. Instead of his usual mind bending topics, Oppenheimer is more focused on characters and their relationships with each other, which could be considered a more 'straightforward' film.

The film is 3 hours long and involves many jumps in time. The beginning of the film is fairly slow paced, however speeds up by the middle and end.

The technical aspects were great, with beautiful visuals accompanied by a very captivating musical score. However in some specific scenes, the background music becomes a distraction and muffles the speech.

The entire cast were amazing with one of Cillian Murphy and RDJ's best performances.

Overall, having seen the movie twice, I would recommend Oppenheimer. Some people may consider it 'boring' which is understandable due to the vast amount of information packed in. For Nolan lovers such as myself, Oppenheimer varies greatly from his other films but still worth a watch.

A Mess!!!
10 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
One of the most worst movies i have ever watched. Brad Pitt, who is one of my favourite actors, was boring and his acting made the movie more dull and repetitive. The attempts at humour failed miserably and made the torture more painful. There was nothing in the film which jumped out to me as interesting that made it unique other than trying to steal your money. Some aspects in the plot do not make sense at all such as Mr and Mrs Smiths' marriage lasting 5 years whilst they work behind each others' backs. There were some good special effects however it was expected from such a high budget movie that featured 2 top Hollywood actors. The first hour felt rushed and was more like the director was trying to focus on the action scenes rather than actually improving the plot. Most of the movie was cringey from the huge amount of unrealistic moments. Overall I would absolutely not recommend 'Mr and Mrs Smith'.
