Paulie (1998)
Feathered friend feature!
Nice to see conures starring in something so special. I have a similar bird so I am biased. These entertaining, and admittedly sometimes annoying, birds deserve star billing and it is good to see it here. Although mine doesn't have the ability to talk, he does make it known by an assortment of chirps and antics exactly what he wants, be it food, treats, or just attention! This was a heartwarming film suitable for children and adults. Now we just need one where cockatiels star in their own movie so my other feathered friend can have his moment in the spotlight; he's just as expressive but quieter and less bossy than the conure!
Spooks: Episode #10.6 (2011)
Sad ending to a fine show
I thought this episode was a good way to bring the series to a close. Some of the scenarios throughout the series, subsequent actions and decisions have been questionable but overall it was gripping stuff. The chemistry between Harry and Ruth was excellent and their characters believable. The cast throughout the series has been strong and largely well acted. The whole series made me wonder just how many interventions by the security services are made to keep up all safe. Also how many incidents that have happened that have been reported as a gas explosion or a pollutant leak, etc. Alarming stuff contained in this excellent series but I was sad to see it end.
Marple (2004)
Not in the same class as Joan Hickson
This portrayal of Agatha Christie's fabulous character, Miss Marple, is simply appalling! Joan Hickson was absolutely the best version ever and closest to the books. After a very short time I abandoned watching this 21st century travesty; it was just too awful.
